Ranita felt embarrassed by the kiss, but her mood seemed to have improved a bit.
“Don’t mess around.”
Seeing that Ranita was finally a bit more lively, Brendon felt much more reassured, “Go quickly!”
When Ranita returned, Ayaan was already back in the ward, receiving an infusion, and still hadn’t woken up.
“How is it going?” Ranita asked anxiously, “Is Ayaan okay?”
Brendon was afraid she would worry, so he quickly explained, “Don’t worry! He has a slight injury on his head, but it’s just a superficial wound. The doctor has cleaned and treated it. Kids grow quickly, and it’ll heal in a few days.”
“He was a bit dehydrated, and all the events have been a bit of a mental shock for him, so the doctor prescribed some sedatives.”
“Once he wakes up, we’ll see if he needs psychological counseling.”
Although Ayaan appears to be quite mature, he is still just a little kid. For a child over three years old, what happened was indeed a significant stimulus.
The doctor was concerned about leaving psychological trauma on Ayaan.
“Okay, okay! Let him sleep well!” Ranita, feeling sorry for Ayaan, reached out to touch his red cheek, “We’ll talk when he wakes up.”
“Why don’t you go clean up yourself?” After Ranita felt a bit more relieved, she finally paid attention to Brendon. The man had jumped into the water to save them and was drenched when he came over. Now, after so much time, his clothes were almost dry.
After all, it was seawater, and when it dried, it still gave off a foul smell.
Fortunately, his face was good-looking.
“Do I look that messy?” Brendon sighed, “You finally remembered me!”
Ranita smiled and, without disgust, leaned forward and gave him a gentle kiss on the lips, giggling softly, “Even when you look messy, you’re still handsome.”
Brendon suddenly felt his heart filled with warmth.
It turns out that the feeling of happiness is so wonderful.
Ranita was very tired. While watching over Ayaan, she unknowingly fell asleep. She was half-asleep for a long time until she felt someone hugging her.
The warm chest, with its familiar scent of cedar, made her relax and feel extremely safe. Ranita instinctively rubbed her head against him and slept more soundly than before.
It seemed she knew that Brendon was by her side.
As long as Brendon was there, everything would be fine.
“Mommy! Mommy!” Ranita was woken up by Ayaan, who was looking at her with a soft and fluffy appearance. A bandage was stuck on his forehead, but it didn’t affect his cuteness; his big eyes were still as black and sprightly as ever.
“Ayaan, why did you get up?”
“Mommy, my injection is done.” Ayaan crawled to Ranita’s side, then lay down on her body, “Mommy, are you feeling better?”
Seeing Ayaan’s worried look, Ranita was deeply moved. She stroked his head, “Mommy is fine! Are you feeling better?”
“Uh-huh!” Ayaan nodded vigorously, like a chick pecking rice, “Mommy, I feel better, but it hurts here!”
Ayaan pointed to his head, “Can you blow on it for me, Mommy?”
Ranita, seeing his good spirits, leaned in and blew gently on his head, saying, “The pain is gone now.”
Ayaan smiled, his eyes curving into a crescent.
“Mommy, it really doesn’t hurt anymore.”
“That’s great!” Ranita stretched out to hug Ayaan, but her heart still ached. She wanted to ask Ayaan about what happened but was afraid of bringing up bad memories for him.
Ranita pressed her lips together and sighed, hugging Ayaan tightly.
Suddenly, Ayaan looked up at her and said seriously, “Mommy, I’m fine, and I’m not scared anymore. You don’t have to worry about me.”
