Workers were seen roaming around the pack, repairing or rebuilding every house as per Luna Mavana’s order and as compensation for the pack members.
“Good Morning, Luna.”She heard a voice behind her and slowly turned to face the person with his neck arched in a bow.
“What is it?” She inquired.
“A letter was sent from Crest Pack, but it is not…” Luna Mavana snatched the letter from his grip and ruffled it open, her eyes widening in horror as she read the contents.
Disbelievingly, she scoffed, “Is this a fucking joke? Another war?” She exclaimed, squeezing the letter in her hand and throwing her head backward, “I thought Alpha Carlos was wounded; how come he sent another notice of war?”
“It is from Crest Pack’s Luna, Luna Lorienta.” The message stated,
Luna Mavana’s face was filled with shock and confusion as she attempted to justify the information.
“Do you mean this letter is from the Luna?” She inquired again and opened the letter; her eyes caught sight of a count; three days were scribbled at the bottom tip of the letter, a countdown.
A smirk formed on her lips as she strode towards the pack house, gesturing for the messenger to leave. Her steps exuded tension and aura; fortunately for her, the Elders were already sitting in the meeting room, having a secret conversation.
Luna Mavana stood in front of the meeting room door, slowly raising her hand to grab the doorknob before dropping it abruptly.
“Gamma Loan should have died by now; the poison kills quickly.” She heard whispers that sounded similar to the Relation Elder’s voice.
Not that it was strange to her, but she could not bring herself to figure out why they wanted to kill him.
” hmph” She pushed it out of her mind and took a deep breath before turning the doorknob, which swung open, startling the Elders as she stepped inside.
Silence fell over the room as everyone turned to her, curious about why she had come.
She took the letter from her pocket and walked over to the table, her eyes darkening as she noticed the Relation Elder sitting in the designated seat for the Alpha.
“Stand up and take your seat,” she said, only audible to herself and the Relation Elder.
“Then why should I? He is no longer here, so anyone can… ” A bang on the table caused him to choke back his words.
“You do not have the right to sit down there, so stand the hell up while I am still nice,” Luna Mavana yelled, startling the Relation Elder, who jolted up and strode to the room, glaring at Luna Mavana, whose eyes were blazing with rage and anguish.
“A letter was brought in earlier today; it is another notice of war from Crest pack,” she announced, causing shock in the room and leaving unanswered questions.
” How can this be? Alpha Carlos was so injured, he would not have been healthy by now.” The Agriculture and Tilling Elder mumbled.
“The letter was not from Alpha Carlos, but from Luna Lorienta… She also set a three-day countdown,” she revealed, adding to the shock and tension in the room. Each of them appeared perplexed and eager for explanations and more information about the letter.
” To cut a long story short, I have decided that we will go to their pack the day before to gain ground in this war; they destroyed our pack in the previous war, which I have worked so hard to rebuild.”
“This time, I will be the one to destroy their pack,” Luna Mavana stated, standing straight and her eyes flashing with determination.
“No, you cannot do that.” The Relation Elder mumbled while standing on his feet.
” What!? ” Luna Mavana inquired, stunned. Her mind was racing with various thoughts.
“I mean, Our Alpha just died and we have not even gained a stand yet; instead of responding to the letter with violence, you can just visit with some royal guards and settle things,” the Civil Elder said.
” Settlement? What sort of settlement will resolve this issue? Are you all for real?” Luna Mavana yelled, finding it serious to believe the Elders’ statements.
“We have important things to deal with right now, Luna. We can not keep trying to satisfy your quests or anything; we are not going to Crest pack for war,” he said, shifting his gaze away from Luna Mavana.
” Luna Mavana, I understand your desire for revenge and victory, but we must act accordingly. You should not make rash decisions because you have grudges against them.” One of the Elders’ eyes darkened as he spoke.
“I am not going to stand here while our pack is being threatened. I will lead our warriors into battle on the day before her countdown expires, and that is the final verdict,” Luna Mavana yelled, anger coursing through her veins, her temple turning veiny as she turned to walk away, leaving the Elders stunned by her tone.
“You can go with the warriors; Daniel will take over until you return.” The Relation Elder mumbled, his gaze fixed on the entrance, cold stares piercing through.
Luna Mavana paused, her eyes widening in outrage. ” What about Daniel? The jerk who attempted to force himself on me? Who in the hell would dare to invite the banished illegitimate child back?”
The Relation Elder scoffed, “We know his past actions were unacceptable, but that should not be a measure to discharge him from this pack affairs, especially now that Alpha Damian is dead. He will take over the throne until you return from the battle or until you give birth to the cub in your stomach and when he grows enough to ascend the throne.”
Luna Mavana’s face twisted with disgust and horror as she returned to face them. ” You cannot be serious. Daniel, the same man who tried to rape me despite knowing I was his cousin’s mate, will take over the throne?”
Her voice rose to a furious tone. “Do you know what the worst part is? You are willing to give up our pack’s future for a monster’s ego…”
The Relation Elder’s expression remained cold: “Luna Mavana, try thinking from our perspective, try to understand-”
“No, you understand,” Luna Mavana snapped, her eyes blazing.
” I will never allow Daniel or his mother to set foot in our pack again, let alone lead it. He is a bastard, just like some of you. A curse and a rival to this pack.”
The Civil Elder stepped in, “You can not cut him off. He is royalty by blood and everything, and the statement you made that we Elders are betrayers, I don’t-”
“Oh please, cut the crap. I am not going to succumb to your stupid thinking. You are betraying Alpha Damian and our pack’s values. What will the pack members say?” She yelled, her breathing quick and low.
Her mind was racing with various ideas and consequences, and the thought of Daniel returning to the pack tore her apart, sagging her shoulders.
The Elders looked around in shock, unable to believe Luna Mavana’s level of disrespect and disputing actions. She glared at them all, rage burning in her eyes.
The room was filled with tension and chaos, and mixed emotions were heightened.
“I will not sit here and continue listening to your bizarre decisions, Fucking old pigs,” She scowled and clenched her jaw as she turned to walk away. The next statement uttered by one of the Elders instantly weakened her determination.
“You should remember that you are an outcast.”
She froze in her tracks, the words piercing her heart, a statement she had despised since childhood.
She bit her trembling lips to steady them, gnashing her teeth in the process. Shakily, she turned her head back to them, her gaze fixed on them.
” Oh, yes, I am an outcast now. That was why you wanted to kill me, right? To bring Daniel back into this pack and turn him into a puppet, your council of senseless Elders will now have the upper hand, and I believe that is why you poisoned Gamma Loan,” she blurted out.
The Elders’ eyes widened in shock, as waves of exposure and vulnerability washed over them.
“What are you talking about?” The Relation Elder stuttered, his brow furrowed.
