THREE DAYS LATER.
REIGN’S POV.
“I wish we could go in there and see Halle waiting for us. I miss her.” Cries Tania as we step out of the car in the training facility premises. I turn to look at her with my eyes and mouth wide open in shock because her missing Halle is the last thing I expect to hear from her mouth.
“I thought you hated her!” I cry in surprise. She chuckles hard.
“Maybe I do, but it doesn’t change the fact that she is a brilliant personal trainer. I’ve been struggling with this new girl.”
“Wow!” I exclaim in awe. I’m also happy because it’s a sign that Tania there’s hope for Tania and Halle to become close one day. “Well, I miss Halle too and just like you, I wish we could go in there and meet her, but as you know, she was severely injured and needs a lot of rest. We shouldn’t expect her anytime soon.”
“Yeah yeah.” We both go into the building and over to my personal training arena. My heart almost hops out of my chest when I push the arena door open and see Halle seated on the bench at the far corner of the room, probably waiting for us like she always does.
“Halle!” I cry out, half excited, half mortified.
What is she doing here?
She’s not supposed to be here.
“Halle!” That’s Tania, there are big smiles on our faces as we rush over to her.
“Good morning Luna Alora.” She greets respectfully and bows. I wish she would stop doing that!
“Halle! What are you doing here dressed like this?” I point to her sports attire.
“I’m here to pick up from where I stopped with my training duties.” She replies nonchalantly. She’s not smiling, she’s not laughing.
Her face is devoid of any emotions.
As always!
Halle!
“But… you got stabbed… multiple times and it’s been just three days. You can’t resume training already.”
“Says whom?” She takes off her sling bag and drops it on the bench. “I’m a werewolf. A very young one at that and my healing abilities are impeccable. You don’t have to worry about me being injured because I’m fine. I’m in perfect condition to ride on with my training lessons.”
“Halle.” I’m very worried for her.
I know she’s a strong girl. She’s very tough and resilient, but her injury was pretty serious.
“Or, don’t you want me anymore? Do you like your new trainer better?”
“No!” I flatly deny it.
“Of course not!” Tania adds.
“You are the best and I’ve not only gotten used to your ways, I’ve gotten used to you as well and I like you. There’s no way I’m gonna prefer some other trainer over you.”
“Despite the fact that I’m mean and grumpy all the time?” She asks with a smirk. I nod proudly. Confidently.
“Yes. Despite the fact that you are mean and grumpy all the time.” She shakes her head and points to the door that leads to the dressing room.
“Go get changed. That’s enough time wasted.”
I’m not even surprised at all. Tania and I laugh all the way to the dressing room.
Our no nonsense trainer is back and we love it!
The conversation we had back at the arena is the most lovely conversation we had ever had since we started training here. I have a good feeling that from now on, things are going to be better between us.
“Did you see the glow in her eyes when we discussed? I feel like she’s letting her guard down with us. I’m positive that this is the beginning of a very good friendship between the three of us.” My enthusiasm is greater than everything powerful. Tania calmly shakes her head as she pulls down her shorts to put on her sports leggings.
“I understand the excitement in your heart right now, but I think you should lower your expectations when it comes to Halle. You might be reading her wrongly.”
“What do you mean?” I ask, curious. Sge shrugs and pulls up her leggings. I’m tying on my shoelace.
“Nothing. I’m just saying you shouldn’t get too excited about becoming friends with her when you know nothing about her. You know, like if she likes you back, what she’s capable of doing…you know… stuff like that.” There’s a look of uncertainty in her eyes.
She’s not far from the truth.
Halle looks like the kind of girl you’d better know like the back of your hands before getting close with her, but I don’t want to go through all that process.
“I understand, but the truth is, I just like Halle very much and I so badly want to be friends with her.”
“Why? Am I not enough?” She asks with a playful smile.
“Oh come on! Stop acting like a jealous ex. You are the best! But like the old saying goes, the more the merrier!”
“Ah…” She exclaims, nodding. “I see. Anyway, I think you are going to charm her into becoming your friend if you keep being so nice to her. Your charm is irresistible.” I smile proudly.
“You can say that again!”
And she just gave me a brilliant idea.
I’m going to charm Halle.
***********************************************
Tania’ POV.
Alora will be completely heartbroken if she ever finds out that the two girls whom she loves so much, namely me and Halle, do not like her one bit.
She’s kind, respectful and easy going.
Any girl with good intentions would adore her and honour the fact that they are friends, but it’s different with me.
Her kindness annoys me. Sometimes, I wish she would portray some bad habit and give me at least a flimsy excuse that can serve as a justification to why I want her to get rid of her, but she’s perfect everyday.
She’s always doing the right thing at the right time. Saying the right thing in the right way to the right person.
She’s like a saint.
A perfect soul that’s not liable to make mistakes.
She’s annoying.
“I wish she could die soon so I don’t have to deal with her perfection everyday. It’s exhausting to always interact with someone who’s the direct opposite of you.” I lament to Tania over the phone.
It’s break time and as usual, Reign had gone to have a quick bite. She offered to take me along, but I refused and chose to stay behind because of this phone call I had to make with Skye.
“About that, we have a meeting today with Alpha Jovan and we will be discussing how to attack Alora again. Come over to my place after your training so we can go together. The earlier we get rid of Alora, the earlier you stop interacting with her. How does that sound?”
“Perfect! It sounds perfect!”
“Good. I’m going to leave you now. See you later.”
“Good bye.” I end the call and slide the phone into my sling bag.
There’s a big smile on my face as I exit the arena.
Alora is not going to survive this second hit.
I can bet my life on that!
