Jayce’S POV.
“You called.” Reed announces as he walks over to me. I’m standing by my wall to the ceiling glass window, staring down at the busy streets with both hands showing in my trouser pockets as always.
I turn to look at him and smile.
“Yes, I did.”
“Anything the matter?”
“No. I just called you here to let you know that I will be leaving my tasks in your hands for the rest of the day.” He furrows his brows, giving me a careful look.
“Why’s that?”
“I will be going somewhere.”
“Where and with whom?”
“Lloyd.”
“Lloyd?” He asks aghast. I totally expected that reaction from him. He freaks out everytime I mention Lloyd’s name.
“Yes, Lloyd.”
“What the hell are you going to do in the woods with Lloyd? Are you going with guards?”
“Of course we are. It’s been a while since I went into the woods to check the boundary and other stuff. Lloyd proposed we do that today, so that’s why we are going.”
“I’m coming with you.”
“No! You are not. The pack cannot be left without a leader. You’ll stay and take care of things here while Lloyd and I are away. That is an order!” My voice is calm, but firm and he instantly swallows the retaliating words on his lips and bows to me.
“Yes, Alpha.”
“Good. Keep a close eye on Alora. Signal me if anything goes wrong.”
“I will do just that” a knock on the door.
“That must be Lloyd.” The door opens and Lloyd walks in, looking all ready and dressed up for our walk
As usual, he doesn’t say a word to Reed nor does Reed say a word to him.
One day, when they least expect it, I’ll sit them down and force them to settle whatever differences they have.
“Take care of the pack. I’ll be right back.” I give him a pat on his shoulder and he simply nods his head. I don’t fail to notice the way both he and Lloyd are glaring at each other, but I ignore them and walk out of the office. Lloyd joins me shortly.
The guards lead the way out of the castle and the twenty other guards who will be accompanying us for security are already waiting for us at the castle premises.
The back seat door of the car I’ll be riding is opened and I get in, while Lloyd takes the passenger seat In Front.
“Has everything been going well at the boundary?” I ask once the car kicks off. Lloyd turns behind to look at me.
“Perfectly well, Alpha. Alpha Ronald has stopped being greedy ever since the lesson you taught him. He no longer causes problems at the boundary.” He explains and I calmly nod my head.
Lloyd is in charge of security of the woods and the boundary. He makes sure there are no prominent rogue attacks and even if there are, they shouldn’t reach the residential quarters of the pack and he has been very effective in his work.
I’m so proud of him.
When we get to the entrance of the woods, we all get down from the cars we came with and take the rest of the walk on foot.
As we navigate the woods, Lloyd shows all that he has been working on and we finally get to the boundary.
So far, I am happy with what I’m seeing. He’s doing a good job maintaining not only the peace, but the trees in the woods.
I’m impressed.
“I must confess, Lloyd, I am impressed by all that I’m seeing. You are doing a great job maintaining the security of the entire pack and taking good care of these woods as well. Thank you very much.”
“There’s no need to thank me, Alpha. I’m only doing my…” His words are cut short by angry growling sounds coming from the woods. I look around and notice angry looking rogues coming from every corner of the forest and soon, my guards, Lloyd and I are surrounded by hundreds of Rogues.
What in fuck’s name is going on here?
“Let me out!” King, my wolf orders and I obey. I let him take over me. I start growling as my bones start snapping and reforming and in less than no time, I’m standing on all four hooves. Lloyd and the other soldiers have done the same and I keep looking around at the rogues that are circling in on us.
This is going to be a very bloody fight.

Reed’S POV.
“Reed!” Alpha Jayce’svoice calls aggressively through mindlink. I instantly rise to my feet when I sense the danger in his tone.
“Alpha Jayce. What is going on?”
“We have been ambushed by hundreds of Rogues. Come along with soldiers this instant.” I can hear him groaning, meaning he’s terribly injured. My heart starts racing.
I knew there was something off about this sudden visit to the woods.
“I’ll be right there. For now you need to take cover. Where’s Lloyd? He should find a way to get you out of there.”
“Forget about me and bring the soldiers over. These rogues cannot reach the pack residential area.”
I bolt out of my office at the speed of light. When I get it outside, I’m shouting orders and rallying soldiers. The troops are in their special camp in the outskirts of the pack and luckily, they are closer to the woods.
“A thousand soldiers! Rally a thousand soldiers!” I’m screaming like a mad man as I hop into my car and drive out of the premises. A fleet of cars are following behind.
My entire body is on fire.
I’m scared that it might be too late before I get to Alpha Jayce.
I park at the entrance to the woods and the cars the others came with. As I jump down from the car, I land on my hooves. My clothes have been torn apart, but I don’t care. My big grey Wolf is tearing into the woods with a thousand other wolf soldiers behind me and we are running in the direction of the growls we are hearing from afar.
“Find Alpha Jayce.” I’m commanding them all through mindlink. “Make sure he’s safe!”
When we get to the fighting ground, I’m shocked.
The entire place is thick with rogues. The soldiers I came with fall on them and I’m searching for my Alpha.
I hear a painful howl on the other side of the woods and when I turn to look, bile rises in my stomach when I see about ten rogues ganging up on Alpha Kai’s big white wolf which is all bloody right now because of how much he has been injured.
I charge towards the rogues and all of them come to attack me, but with the anger and fury burning in my heart, it’s just a matter of seconds before I have them lying lifelessly on the ground, torn apart.
Three other soldiers come up to me and assist in getting Alpha Jayce’s almost limp body on my back.
He seems to have torn apart over two hundred rogues on his own.
Once they succeed in putting him on my back, I take off at the speed of light.
If anything happens to my brother, I will kill every rogue in this world.
