CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE.

Book:THE SUPREME ALPHA'S HATED LUNA Published:2024-11-20

Jayce’S POV.
“Help me!”
Alora’s cry for help is ringing in my mind as I drive like a madman to the training centre. I can feel her distress. I can feel her pain. She’s in danger.
She’s dying.
I can’t even think straight right now.
The moment I drive into the training premises, I kill the car engine and get out of the car. I thank my stars for the fact that her private training centre isn’t far up. It’s down here on the ground floor and easily accessible.
“Alpha Jayce!” A voice calls my name the moment I walk into the door of the private training centre. Tania, Alora’s personal maid rushes over to me with tears-filled eyes.
“Where is she?” I ask with a thundering voice that makes the already distressed girl tremble in fear as she leads the way into the pool. My eyes scan the pool and my heart drops into my stomach when I see Reign floating on the water. My soul actually walks out of my body.
I fly over to the water and jump into it. I swim over to Alora’s floating body and pull her over to the edge of the pool where Tania helps me bring her out and place her on the floor.
“Luna Alora!” She’s screaming and shaking Alora to wake up.
“Step aside.” I instruct with a deadly tone and she obeys. I kneel by Alora’s side and press both my plans on her chest and give two heavy presses before blowing air into her mouth.
I repeat the action three times, but there’s still no sign of Alora waking up.
I check her pulse at the side of her neck, but there’s nothing. Tears prick my eyelids.
“Come on baby…. Please wake up.” I plead with all my heart as I keep pressing my palms on her chest and blowing air into her lungs through her mouth. The tears in my eyes have begun spilling down and my heart feels like it’s being chopped into pieces.
“I can’t lose you too, Alora.” I cry hard as I keep up with the mouth to mouth resuscitation. “I lost my parents already. I can’t lose you too. Please don’t do this to me.” I’m sobbing like a baby as I keep pressing down on her chest.
Tania is kneeling on the other side, also in tears as she looks down at Alora, who’s still numb and lifeless.
“Luna Alora please wake up. Please don’t do this to us. We need you.”
I press hard one more time and blow air into her mouth. As I try to press one more time, she coughs hard, water splatters out of mouth and her eyes shoot open. A wave of relief washes through me as I hold her choking self in my arms like I never knew what to let go.
“Baby.” I call, crying. “You scared me baby.”
“Jayce.” Alora calls weakly and I back away from her.
“Yes baby.”
“You saved me. Thank you very much.”
“For nothing, my love. Come here.” I carry her in my arms and rise to my feet. That’s when Reed and Halle come rushing into the pool, but they immediately halt on their tracks when they see Alora in my arms.
“Luna Alora!” Halle calls in horror, but she doesn’t take another step forward. She has a mortified look in her eyes and she dares not to look at me. “You all will answer to me!” I tell them in a calm, but deadly tone as I exit the pool arena with Alora cuddled up in my arms.
I almost lost my mate today.
I’ll make sure to get to the root of this matter and punish anyone involved with what happened to her.
Reed’S POV.
“Can someone tell me what happened here?” I ask, looking from Halle to Tania. Halle has a lost look in her eyes, while Tania is still struggling to wipe her tears away.
“It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have let her go too close to the pool.” She sniffles tears. I creased my brows because I’m more confused after hearing what she just said.
“Excuse me, what do you mean by that?”
“When Halle left us, Luna Alora went dangerously close to the water to touch it. That’s when she tripped and fell into it. I should have stopped her from getting too close.” More tears spill from her eyes as her head drops down. I turn to look at Halle, who as usual, has a blank countenance.
“Are you sure you know nothing about this?” I point an accusing finger at her and that gets her riled up. Her face darkens as she casts me a deadly glare.
“‘The hell do you mean by that? I just showed up at your office thinking you summoned me. How can you think I had a hand in this?”
“You could’ve planned with whoever called you to do so.”
“Seriously? Why don’t you take my phone and try tracking the number, see if it has anything to do with me.” She holds her phone out to me.
“I sure will.” I take the phone from her hand and slide it into my pocket.
I have to commend this girl’s courage. She’s no ordinary girl.
This is the longest conversation I’ve ever had with a girl. The others are always too terrified to talk to me, so all they do is listen to and execute my commands, but this girl standing before me is actually talking back at me. It’s annoying and at the same time refreshing to have a real conversation with someone of the opposite sex.
“If you hadn’t been so mean to Luna Alora, I would not be suspecting you right now.”
“Oh yeah? If we are to judge this based on meanness towards Luna Alora, your name will be the first on the list of suspects. Everyone knows you despise her!”
“I do not despise…”
Hold up!
What am I doing?
Is this girl trying to make me argue with her?
I don’t banter with anyone!
I take a step back and give her a careful look. She’s smirking at me.
Who the fuck is this girl?
“I will investigate the phone and get back to you, but just so you know, your name is still at the top of my list of suspects.”
“And so is yours.” I heave out a heavy sigh and turn to leave the pool arena, but after taking three steps, I turn to look at her.
“What?”
“Just so you know, your punishment will be unbearable if you are found guilty.”
“You won’t, so you can kiss your urge to punish me goodbye.” I purse my lips shut to prevent the words in my head from spilling out of it.
I refuse to bicker with a little girl.
She’s only eighteen years old. I can’t let her get under my skin.
I walk out of the arena , frowning because she has won again.
The next time we have an encounter, I’ll be sure to win! For now, I need to use her phone to track down the person who called her a while ago.
Whoever did that is responsible for what happened to Luna Alora.
