Skye’S POV.
“Bold of you to assume you are ever going to reach that level.”
Those words have been ringing in my mind all night and day. I can’t get it off my mind.
How dare he!
Who the hell does he think he is?
He is an ordinary Omega. He doesn’t have much power, yet he goes around, acting all high and mighty like he was the Alpha of the pack. I used to hate him before because of his cold attitude, but now I hate him even more because he is on Alora’s side in this fight.
By the time I accomplish what I’m aiming for, I’ll make sure Alpha Jayce makes him step down as Omega. He has proven himself to be my enemy and I do not dine on the same table with people who want to drag me down. When the time comes, he’s going to be sorry for every mean thing he ever said to me.
“Skye.” A voice calls from the door and I shake in fear and turn to look. I was so lost in thought that I didn’t even hear the door open. When I see Tania at the door, my heart starts beating even more and this time, not out of anger, but fear.
“I wonder who your partner in crime is.” That’s one of the last statements Reed made before we separated last night. He knows I’m working with someone, but he has no idea who that person is.
He can never find out that Tania is my partner in crime, otherwise my plans will be ruined. He will expose Tania’ intentions to Alora and she will never hire Tania as her personal maid. I will benefit a lot from Tania working for Alora. I cannot let this crash.
I have to make sure Reed never finds out who my partner in crime is.
“Tania.” I call with a shaky voice as I rush over to her.
“Why do you look so worried? What’s wrong?” She asks concerned as she closes the door behind her.
“There’s a bit of an issue.”
“What… what’s wrong?” She looks very frightened.
“It’s the Omega, Reed. He knows I’m working with someone.” Tania closes her mouth with her hands and gasps in shock.
She also knows this is not good.
“He knows we are working together?” She asks aghast. Disappointment flashes in her eyes. I vigorously shake my head in denial.
“No. No. He doesn’t know it’s you I’m working with. He just knows I’m working with someone.”
“What makes you think he knows by the way? Did he tell you?” There’s a curious look on her face. I start pacing about nervously.
“We had this very intense conversation last night. He told me he was well aware of the fact that I’m trying to bring Alora down and that he won’t let me. He also said he wondered who my partner in crime was. That’s when I understand that he is aware of the fact that I’m working with someone.”
“He said it doesn’t mean he’s sure.”
“Reed is a very smart man. You know that Tania. He doesn’t say things he isn’t sure of. That’s the reputation he has. If he says he knows I’m working with someone, it means he knows, he’s not bluffing and his next step would be to find who that person is. Tania, if Reed finds out you are working with me, it will be impossible for you to work with Alora because he is on her side. He will rat you out to her.” I lament with a worried voice.
The plan hasn’t even started yet and it’s already getting messed up. What the hell am I going to do with that man called Reed?
“That means we have to tread carefully. We cannot be seen together too often. We’ll have to think of how to meet less frequently in order not to raise his suspicion. We have to be very careful.”
“Exactly!” I agree with her words.
Being careful and discreet is the only thing that can save us right now.
“I can’t believe things are already getting hard when we haven’t even begun. This is truly going to be a tough fight!” She cries.
“You have no idea.”
That stupid Omega.
Everything is getting complicated all because of him. I hate him!
“Skye.” Tania calls calmly as she walks towards me. I stop pacing and look at her. She reaches over to me and places both hands on my shoulders. She can see it on my face that I’m completely worn out from stress. “Breathe in…” She says and demonstrates. I put my hands by my side and follow her example. I suck in a deep breath and hold it in for a while. I can feel my nerves relaxing. “Out…” I exhale and we do it again four more times. By the time I’m exhaling for the last time, all my nerves are back to their usual spots, my brain is no longer cramped up and there was no anxiety tugging my heartstrings. I feel a lot better.
This is why I love Tania. She has got my back in every circumstance.
“Thank you.” I flash her a sweet smile.
“It’s nothing. Don’t overthink this whole issue. We are going to work hard and win. Alora might be at the top now, but that won’t last long. We will get Alpha Jayce for you and you’ll not only be the Luna of this pack, but the Supreme Luna of the entire werewolf world. Just watch and see.” Her words have instantly put me out of my bad mood . It has literally lightened my world.
I believe them.
I am going to succeed with my plans.
“Alright then, I have to go now. Henceforth, let’s text more and only meet when there’s something very important to discuss. Reed will definitely be monitoring your movements from now on.”
“I’m going to come up with a way for us to meet. I promise.” I give her a warm hug. “Goodnight Tania.”
“Goodnight.” She wishes and leaves my bedroom.
I walk over to my bed and sit on it. I can already see myself winning and becoming the Luna of this pack.
I can’t fail.
Heads will roll. Blood will be spilled. Tears will be shed.
I’ll do anything to be what I want to be.
