Andre’s POV
We left the room and went outside. It didn’t take long for the reinforcements to arrive. They got out of the vehicle and walked up to me.
The leader stepped out from amongst the ranks and gave a low bow.
“Alpha Andre, we have been sent from Black Paw Pack on behalf of our Alpha.”
I acknowledged his greeting and gave a nod.
“I trust that your Alpha is doing well?”
“Yes, Sir!”
I was pleased by the men’s gallantry and began to arrange them into small groups alongside my guards.
“Team A, I would need you to monitor the perimeter here. I expect that he is going to send men after us or come by himself. I need you to make sure that you delay him as long as possible. Team B, you guard the entrance of the secret passage and Team C, you follow me inside to get the Luna. Are we clear on that front?”
There was a resounding ‘yes sir’, and all the guards moved to their stations.
Sephora and Pierre ran up to me.
“What about us, Alpha?”
I looked them over. It seemed that they had gotten quite close.
“You two are coming with me. I need my best men in Team C. We expect heavy guards, and we need as many able-bodied men as possible to break through them.”
“Yes, Alpha!”
Sephora shifted into her wolf and began to sniff the air.
“Alpha, I believe that the secret entrance is somewhere in the compound. I can smell a cluster of scents, and they all seem to terminate without a trace.”
She spoke to me via the mind link, and I ordered my men in Team B and Team C to follow her lead.
We went along with her and went deep into the compound, past the flowers and lush gardens.
“Here.”
She stopped and sniffed around the water fountain and shifted back into her human form.
“There is a secret passage beneath the fountain. The scents stop here.”
We all began to search and I soon found a tile that was a lever and opened the hidden passage on the ground.
“Team B stand watch. Team C, follow me.”
I lowered myself into the passage and my men followed me closely behind.
No sooner had our feet touched the ground than we heard someone scream in alarm.
“Intruders!”
The men rushed at us, and my guards sprung into action. We fought, and Jonas’ guards fell to the ground one by one.
“Arrrrrggghhhh!”
I heard someone yell behind me, and when I turned around, a sword was rushing down at my head.
I was quick to jump out of the way, and the swords struck stone, chipping off a bit of the blade.
I unfurled two quick punches at my assailant and caught him in the gut, knocking the air right out of his lungs.
I hit him hard, and he smacked into the stone wall and fell down unconscious.
I looked around and saw Sephora striking the last man that stood.
It was over, and I assessed my men. I was happy that none of them had been seriously hurt.
We continued down the corridor, and we soon reached the underground floor.
“We have intruders! Get them!”
My yells came, and more men with reinforcements rushed at us.
A battle ensued, and my men broke through the defences as best they could.
I was caught in the battle, and it didn’t take long for my coat to be ripped to shreds, leaving only my shirt and trousers.
“I see the entrance to the cell where Olivia is being kept. I need to find a way through!”
Pierre and Sephora fought the guards as furiously as they could and carved a way through for me so that I could get to the entrance.
I was extremely impressed by Pierre. I had never seen him fight so ferociously.
“Sephora!”
A man crept up behind Sephora and was about to stab her with a blade, but Pierre kicked the knife out of his hand and tossed him over the railing to the ground below.
Sephora and Pierre fought in perfect synch like it had all been planned before the battle.
We were soon able to get to the door.
Fuck! It was locked!
“Stand back!”
Pierre and Sephora stood behind me, and I concentrated my lupine energy. Ragnar growled loudly, and I felt energy oozing into my bloodstream.
“Arrrrrggghhhh!”
I grabbed the thick and heavy door, and in one movement, I tore it off its hinges.”
“Ahhh!’
A high-pitched scream came from the inner room.
“Olivia?”
I looked at her in shock. She was free. But how?
I looked around and saw four bodies tied up and squirming like worms.
She stood up slowly and looked at me in disbelief.
“A… Andre?”
I watched tears fill her eyes and she ran to me and threw herself in my arms.
I couldn’t explain the relief that filled me. I pulled her away and examined her face. She looked pale and weak. She felt lighter. Her eyes were red and sunken in, and her nose was red like she had gotten a cold.
“Olivia, are you okay? What happened? Are you hurt? Did they hurt you?”
Olivia shook her head, and some of her tears splashed on my palm.
“I’m fine. I was so scared.”
She buried her face in my chest and sobbed loudly.
“I heard the ruckus and thought that I could use it as a cover and escape. I was able to tie these men and…. oh, Andre, I missed you so much!”
I pulled her into a kiss and nearly kissed her breath away.
I squeezed her so tightly to me that she probably would have snapped in two.
I pulled away and looked into her tired eyes.
“We need to…”
“Blood!”
Pierre screamed out, pointing at Olivia’s dress and the blood running down her legs.
Her face went pale and her eyes were wide with shock.
“Bl…blood…”
She became weak and collapsed unconsciously in my arms.
I was filled with worry, and my hands began to shake.
Our baby!
I had to get her to a…
“There they are! They have the hostage! Stop them!”
More guards rushed towards us. How were they able to get through my men that were fighting?
“Alpha, get out of here with the Luna. We will hold them off!” Pierre yelled at me.
Sephora had already jumped into action and was carving through the guards like a knife.
I didn’t hesitate. I picked Olivia up and weaved through the guards. I didn’t look back. I had to get her to a hospital.
“No, no, no. You can’t die on me, Olivia. Not now…”
