Olivia’s POV
Javier tried to grab me but I was able to pull away. Jaden grabbed me and pinned my arms to the side. I struggled to get out of his grasp.
“Stay still, you little insect!”
I swung my head backwards and butted Jaden. He reeled backwards and let go of me.
I watched him, and blood dripped from his nose like a little tap.
“Fuck! The bitch broke my nose!”
“Stop this nonsense, Olivia! We are trying to help you!”
“I don’t want your help! Stay away from me!”
With Jaden temporarily disabled, Javier sprung back into action. He grabbed me by the throat, wrestled me to the ground, and pinned me there.
I was weak, and even though I tried to kick him, he barely flinched and tightened his grip around my throat.
Donovan stood up in alarm and stood close to where his son pinned me.
“Javier! Be gentle with her! We need her alive!”
He grunted and squeezed my throat harder.
“Alive doesn’t mean we need her conscious!”
I began to cough as my lungs were deprived of oxygen.
My limbs became even weaker, and the room began to spin.
Even bloody Jaden was standing over me, watching happily as his brother strangled the life out of me.
My body kicked into auto-function in a last desperate attempt to breathe, and I lashed out wildly.
It all seemed to be worth it as I caught Javier in the eyes, and he relinquished his hold of me and rolled away, grabbing his face in pain.
“She fucking poked my eye!”
I had a few minutes, and I got to my feet and tried my best to draw my breath.
The room seemed to get even smaller as the people in the room began to close in on me. Javier and Jaden were a mess; the hate in their eyes burned hotter than lava. Donovan had a terrible scowl while the advisors gazed at me in disgust.
They were all cockroaches and pigs. I would never marry Jonas. Never!
As I was slowly backed into a corner, my memories suddenly began to rush past.
Everything was so vivid.
Donovan also mentioned something about my mother. What was he even talking about? He probably knew something about her. That snake!
My back bumper into something cold and hard. I gasped. The wall!
I had been cornered, and the malicious faces seemed to grin with glee. I was right where they wanted me.
My heart began to race and I could hear my blood rushing in my ears. This was it. I was screwed. I was screwed.
“Nimmmmaaaa!!!”
The words burst from my mouth loudly, and everyone stopped in their tracks and stared at me in confusion.
Soon, a laugh rippled through the room, and I felt like a fool.
“Well, it seems that she is just a scared little pup. I wonder who she was calling to.”
I felt my stomach churn. Tears were brimming in my eyes. I just wanted this to be a bad dream. I wanted to see Andre.
“Nima!”
I called out to her again, and it all happened at blazing speed.
It was like a switch had been flipped inside of me as Nima took control of my body.
“Her eyes! Father! They are…”
Jaden looked at me in horror but Donovan was smiling madly.
“It is a raw and unbridled manifestation of her powers. Can you feel it? The aura! The aura around her is so powerful!”
Donovan seemed to be the only one impressed by me. The others had slinked back to safety, but they seemed ready to pounce on me nonetheless.
“Olivia, you don’t need Andre. Come with us, and together, we will help you tap into your potential. I guarantee it!”
His eyes grew wider and seemed to want to pop out of his head.
I had no interest in joining them. I wanted to see Andre.
My silence stunned everyone. I could tell that their ears were itching terribly.
“Don’t tell me that you still intend to go back to the bastard that cheated on you…”
“Silence!”
The command was loud and it echoed through the room.
The silence that came after was thick. No one dared to breathe. One of the advisors was going blue.
Donovan wasn’t deterred. His smile threatened to rip his lips. His sons and everyone else in the room didn’t seem to share his enthusiasm.
“Magnificent!”
He finally broke the silence. One could have thought him to be mad.
“She didn’t even have to use her power. Her aura alone was powerful enough to silence us. She is truly a rare and powerful wolf. More powerful than the people before her.”
His enthusiasm slowly ebbed away and revealed the man that was behind.
His brow furrowed, but his smile remained. Alpha Donovan looked like a creature from hell.
“I am afraid that I can’t take any gambles with you, Olivia. You are too valuable. You are coming with me.”
He stepped forward. His aura expanded around me, almost rivalling my own.
Everyone watched him breathlessly as he stood right in front of me, looking down at me with his dark golden eyes.
He grabbed my wrist.
“Behave and do as I say, and I won’t…”
“Let go of me!”
His hand pulled away from mine. He looked at me in shock, surprised at his own actions.
I felt Nima expand my powers. My aura filled the entire room, and a few advisors seemed to buckle under the weight.
“All of you should become unconscious!”
My voice echoed and filled the room. It was almost like a spell had been cast, and one by one, everyone began to drop to the ground like birds.
I watched them intently. It didn’t take long before all of them were lying quietly. Donovan dropped last, glaring at me hatefully as he fell to his knees before his eyes forcefully closed.
It was done. Nima relinquished control of my body, and I fell to the ground on my hands and knees.
I began to cough violently, spewing blood and sputum in the process.
It took a lot out of me, and I could feel everything going dark around me.
With my last ounce of strength, I crawled to the front door.
I just needed to leave this room. I just had…
The door creaked open.
My heart gave its few beats as I locked eyes with the person standing at the door.
“Olivia? What are…”
I felt conflicted about seeing Andre.
My body could take no more.
“How…. could…. you…”
Those were my last words before everything faded into black.
