Olivia’s POV
I lay on the ground, and silent tears were rolling down my face. I sneezed a little; it seemed like I had caught a cold.
All I could think about was that man who had tried to force that herbal drink down my throat. They wanted to take away my child. They wanted to kill my baby.
The more I thought about it, the more hot tears streamed down my face.
I was filled with worry. When they had forced the liquid into my mouth, I wasn’t sure if I had swallowed some. It kept me on edge. What if my baby was already being harmed inside of me?
I wriggled in frustration. I wanted to get out of these ropes. I wanted to escape and find Andre. I never knew being away from him could be so scary. It finally dawned on me the way he felt when I ran away. I only hoped that he was okay and that he could find me soon.
In the silence, I heard heavy feet walking down the dark corridor. I braced myself; I could tell that the men were back.
My heart went into my chest. What were they going to do to me now?
I heard a door click open, and three serious men walked in. It seemed that they had gotten with you rid of the scruffy man.
They walked up to me and glared down at me with a sinister smile. A shiver rippled my spine as I stared into the eyes.
“Olivia, you mustn’t show fear,” Nima said in my mind.
“Hello, lovely,” the other guy that I was unfamiliar with started. “Damn! You are a beauty. Too bad we have you tied up like this.”
The three men shared a laugh and continued to watch me in my helpless state.
“Two little birdies told me that you refused the refreshing drink that they gave you and threatened to kill yourself and your wolf if anything happened to your child. We can’t have that happening, so you’re in luck because I have great news for you and your baby.”
I wanted to sigh in relief, but the sinister grin on their face told me otherwise.
“You’re not going to say anything, are you? In that case, I guess I should go on. The boss said that if you agree to join his pack and become a full-fledged member and his Luna, nothing will happen to you or your child, but it also means that you can’t go back to that lousy mate of yours. Sounds like a good deal to me. I’d advise that you take it.”
He squatted in front of me and brushed a stray strand of my hair away.
“So beautiful, what is it going to be?”
As soon as his fingers grazed my face, I spat on him, and he fell backwards in disgust.
“Fuck off, you disgusting pig! Tell your stupid boss that I am never going to join him or his pack and that he can go fuck himself for all I care!”
The man I spat on wiped my spit off his face and looked at it in disbelief and anger.”
“Why, you insolent little bitch!…”
He raised his hand to slap me, but his friend grabbed his wrist and stopped him.
“I told you that she has a lot of fire in her. You have to calm down. We can’t afford to harm her. The boss told us not to touch her. I don’t know about you but I want to walk away from here with my money in full and zero consequences.”
“Fuck off, you bastard! All you care about is money.”
“Better that than leaving this job unpaid. You wouldn’t like to leave here empty-handed after all this, would you?”
The man helped his friend off the ground. They stood looking at me, staring daggers at me, and I could almost feel them piercing my skin.
“You and your boss are crazy!” I yelled out. “I already have a mate, and I am the Luna of a pack! Do you really think that I would leave all that behind because of your stupid boss?! I think that it is in your best interest to let me go. My mate will pay you double or triple what that bastard is paying you. All you have to do is let me go.”
There was brief silence and then the men burst out into laughter. I was thrown into confusion. What on earth were they laughing about? Nothing I said was funny.
The men’s laughter filled the entire dungeon, echoing off the walls and giving me a splitting headache.
It took a few minutes for it to die down, and when I looked at them, they had tears in their eyes.
“You know what princess? I didn’t know that you were so funny.”
It happened in a split second, and the smiles were wiped from their faces and replaced with scowls.
“We are very much aware of the bastard that you are married to, and that’s why the boss doesn’t want you going back to him. Isn’t he such a nice man? The boss cares about you. But Andre is not worth his salt, and I think that you should know that as well.”
Their frowns turned into sickening smiles, and my stomach churned nervously. What was going on?
The other guy nudged his friend on the shoulder and proceeded to pull out a tablet.
The men chuckled amongst themselves and they walked closer to me and showed me the screen of the tablet.
My breath hitches as I see Andre seated in a room with his head reclined.
Why are they watching Andre, and where was this?
However, I don’t ask any questions, instead, my eyes are fixed on him as though I could call out to him from here.
Did he know I had gone missing?
Why wasn’t he searching for me?
In the next second, Andre stands up, and a familiar figure enters the room. Lillian.
My heart thumped wild in my chest. I trusted Andre, but Lillian did.
No way!
