Andre’s POV
We zoomed to Jonas’ house and stormed inside.
The servants were in shock, but they made sure to stay out of our way.
We began looking around for him, but after a while, he was nowhere to be found.
My men grabbed a maid, and she screamed in fright.
“Where is Jonas?”
“He… he’s in his study. It’s on the first floor to the right.”
My guards left her, and we stormed to his study. When we got to the door, I asked my men to pull back.
I grabbed the door handlethat bastard locked the door!
I asked them to stand back and forced the door open. I broke the lock, and metal pieces clinked as they fell to the ground.
“What the hell is this? My door!”
Jonas stood up in alarm and stared at me and his broken door in shock.
“Andre, what is your prob…”
“Where is Olivia?”
I glared ferociously at him but he looked at me confused and took a step backwards.
“Where is Olivia?” He asked back in surprise. “What do you mean ‘where is Olivia?’ Where is she?
He looked confused and shaken and stared at me accusingly.
“I ought to be asking you that, you bastard! We were searching the inn, and you left. It looked kind of suspicious to me.”
“You seem to forget, Andre, that I am a Prince. I had work to attend to, and that was why I left. You came in and saw me in my study. Now tell me where Olivia is. Why isn’t she with you?”
I clenched my fists, and my hands shook. I knew Jonas was lying. I just knew it. But that bastard was looking at me like he had no idea what I was talking about.
My men began to mumble amongst themselves, and I could tell that they were silently questioning my judgment. They believed him. They believed Jonas had nothing to do with it.
“Andre, where is she?”
Jonas pressed the question and there was a grimness in his tone. I couldn’t fight him here, and I had no evidence to support my claim that he had actually been involved in her kidnapping.
“I don’t know. We were searching the in, and when we couldn’t find anything, we were about to leave, but Olivia was nowhere to be found. I have a feeling that someone has taken her.”
There was horror in his eyes and he went pale with shock.
“What sort of mate are you? How would you let her just slip through your fingers? Doesn’t she matter to you at all!”
Jonas’ accusations struck a nerve in my heart, and I flared up almost instantly.
“Don’t you dare think that you know my mate better than I do! And don’t even think that you can pretend to be the hero here. You know I love Olivia more than my own life, and you have no rights whatsoever to accuse me…”
“Maybe I should accuse you. You’ve always been a lousy Alpha and mate to her. I have no idea what she saw in you that made her choose you!”
Jonas took a step forward and was right in my face.
I balled my fingers into a fist. I was just a hair strand away from sinking my clenched fist into his face.
I saw my men, Pierre and Sephora, cower in fear as the tension in the room grew heavier.
Jonas was still in my face snarling, his golden eyes bearing down on me, but I didn’t back away.
Olivia was mine, and she was my responsibility. I wasn’t going to have some lousy bastard trying to fight her way into her life, telling me what to do.
“Alpha Andre”
Pierre’s voice was weak and meek, and he took a step forward towards us.
“We can’t afford to be at loggerheads at a time like this. Who knows what Olivia is going through? We need to find her as soon as possible.”
Jonas was the first person to step down.
He backed away but not without staring daggers at me.
“You are right. We need to find Olivia as soon as possible. Men!”
Jonas’ guards flooded into the room and surrounded us.
“I want the entire mansion searched from top to bottom. We need to find Olivia.”
“Yes, my Prince!”
The men replied loudly, and they began to troop out of the study.
Jonas turned and glared at me.
“I don’t know how you were able to lose Olivia, but we are going to find her. I hope this proves to her that you’re not cut out to be her mate.”
He stormed out of the room, and all I could do was snarl in anger.
Pierre walked up to me and placed a hand on my shoulder.
“He isn’t worth it, sir. We’re going to find Olivia.”
I shrugged him away angrily and left the study.
For the entire day, everyone in Jonas’ mansion – maids, guards, even his family members – began the frantic search for Olivia.
As the hours passed, I felt even more tense. The seconds ticked by, and all I could wonder was if Olivia was still alive.
As the search continued, I was keen to watch the expressions of Jonas’ family members. They all seemed genuinely concerned about Olivia.
I cursed under my breath; I didn’t trust them. I was certain that they had kidnapped Olivia but had no evidence to prove it.
For four long hours, we searched the entire top and bottom of the mansion, but we couldn’t find anything. I strayed into a lonely corridor and began checking the rooms.
“Empty, empty, empty, locked…”
I stopped in front of a door at the end of the hallway. It wasn’t particularly fancy or ornamented, but it was locked firmly.
I tried to force the door open, but whatever material it was made from was sturdy and durable. My jiggling made a ruckus, and in less than a few minutes, I had a crowd of onlookers watching me struggle with the door.
“Get out of the way! Move!”
Jonas pushed his way to the front, and I locked eyes with him furiously.
“We have searched the entire mansion, but this is the only room that we haven’t searched. It is locked, and I demand that it be opened.”
A disappointed expression crossed Jonas’ face.
“I’m afraid I can’t do that, Andre.”
I raised my eyebrow in surprise and took a step towards him.
“And might I ask why, Jonas?”
He lifted his head proudly and raised himself to his full height.
“That room is only accessible to members of my pack. Seeing as you are not one of them, I’m afraid I can’t open this door for you.”
“That door leads to a sacred in a sector,” added Jonas’ brother, Charles. “It has been said that only members of this park can enter and avoid the dire consequences that follow non-members of the pack if they decide to be stubborn and go in.”
I glared at his brother. He seemed not to understand how important Olivia was to me.
“I am willing to take that chance even if it means me facing dire consequences.”
Charles was about to retort but Jonas pushed him away and stood toe to toe with me.
“What exactly are you getting at, Andre? Do you think that I kidnapped her?”
I snarled and flexed my fingers. My wolf, Ragnar, was howling loudly in my mind, begging me to let him out and rip at Jonas’ flesh.
“Answer me, Andre! Do you really think that I am responsible for Olivia’s disappearance?”
“It looks that way, considering how secretive your pack is with this inner sector,” I snarled under my breath.
Jonas frowned even more and took a step backwards.
“I don’t see a reason why I should be holding Olivia hostage. She has been good to me, and I am not one to repay kindness with evil. If she was in my custody, I see no reason why I shouldn’t allow her to go.”
“Then open the door and let us inside,” I snarled threateningly. “If you have nothing to hide, then prove it.”
Jonas took a step towards me and was right in my face.
“No.”
My men immediately drew arms and so did Jonas’ men. Animosity and resentment hung thickly in the air like a storm cloud as we faced and stared each other down.
“This is your very last warning, Jonas. Open the door.”
“Make me.”
I raised my hand and was about to give the order, but a gentle voice infiltrated my mind. It was Pierre.
“Alpha, I don’t think it is a good idea to engage in a bloody battle right here and now. We can win this without shedding blood. We just need some more time. Please, have some patience.”
My hands shook in the air. All I needed to do was make one gesture, and my men would swarm all over Jonas like a horde of hornets.
My pride was on the line, and I was willing to make hell rain down on Jonas if he was responsible for Olivia’s disappearance. But still, it wasn’t enough to risk the lives of my men. An Alpha cared for his pack, and acting out of anger and resentment wasn’t going to help anyone.
“Men, fall back.”
My guards murmured in confusion. I sighed and dropped my hand.
“You all heard me. I said, fall back.”
They all relaxed and placed their weapons back in their sheaths.
I took a deep breath and turned away. Jonas might have won this time, but I wasn’t going to give up. I was determined to expose him.
Just as I was about to leave, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out and saw a message.
I tapped on it and saw the video attachment.
“What is this?…”
