Andre’s POV
I was studying with Doran, and my phone was on my ear. I wanted to get an update on Nicole’s whereabouts.
The line soon connected, and Pierre’s voice filled my ears.
“Good morning, Alpha. How are…”
“Any progress so far on Nicole’s location?”
“Uhmm… Yes, Sir.”
I heard the rustling of paper and the clicking of keys on a keyboard, and finally, Pierre spoke.
“We have been able to lock down her last location, which was a restaurant in the neighbouring city, but that is it. We haven’t been able to track her phone; it seems she has a new one along with a new SIM. Nicole couldn’t have had the initiative to know that we can’t track her if she gets a new device, and so it leads us to believe that she has some help.”
I growled lowly. This wasn’t the news that I was expecting. I was hoping that we had closed in on her location and all we had to do was get a squad to pick her up.
“Any other news, Pierre?”
“Yes, sir. But I doubt you will like it any more than this one.”
I sighed. I was already disappointed. I was already expecting bad news from there on out.
“Spill.”
“Yes, Sir. Well, Nicole is a ghost now.”
I raised my eyebrow in suspicion.
“Are you joking with me? Nicole is dead?”
“Nicole isn’t dead, Alpha. But whoever is helping her has erased all available information about her. I can’t find her name, number, driver’s licence, car plate numbers, or even bank information. There is no evidence that Nicole exists. She just disappeared from every database that we have.”
I ended the call with Pierre and faced Doran, who had poured me a glass of wine to calm my nerves. He waited for me to take a sip, and finally, he laid out his question.
“So, what are we going to do now? Lil Nicky is now a ghost. She struck me as more of a vampire type. You know, red lipstick and all.”
I scoffed at Doran’s joke and took another sip.”
“I know that that bastard, Jonas, has some affiliation with Fentris.”
Doran looked at me sceptically with a raised eyebrow.
“And how did you come to that conclusion?”
I couldn’t help the smirk that curled my lips.
“I have my ways.”
Doran seemed visibly annoyed.
“Are you being serious right now? So you aren’t going to tell me?”
I shook my head and continued to sip my wine. Doran rolled his eyes and grabbed his glass. He knew that he couldn’t get any more out of me.
“Well, Mr. Mysterious, what now?”
I set my glass down and leaned in towards him.
“It’s actually very simple. I feel that he might try to contact Nicole or vice versa, so we need to make him unavailable for at least twelve hours. That brat isn’t beyond what I can handle.”
Doran said nothing for a while and took another sip of his wine.
“And I suppose you won’t tell me how you will pull this off.”
I gave a nod, much to Doran’s annoyance. He raised the glass to his lip and gave me a side glance.
“Very cliche, Andre.”
I was silent and sipped my wine. I knew that Fentris and Jonas would work together just as I planned. And now, they had taken the bait just as I had predicted. Now, all that was left to do was grab a hold of Jonas.
I raised my glass to my lips, and just as I was about to sip, the glass slipped from my hand and shattered on the floor.
I clutched my chest in pain. What was going on?
My wolf was howling madly in my head, and I could feel Olivia’s and my bond wavering. It flickered weakly and was then severed.
I was still. I couldn’t feel Olivia anymore. Our connection has been broken.
Without warning, I dashed out of the office. Doran tried to hold me and inquire what was wrong, but I pushed him off violently.
“Get the fuck out of my way!”
I stormed out, and my only instinct was to find Olivia. I was in a mad frenzy, and I grabbed a guard who stood by the door and by the collar and lifted him off the floor.
He dared not to struggle in my grasp and stared at me with shock and fear.
“Where is Olivia?” I snarled.
He went white and began to stutter.
“She… She hasn’t passed here, Alpha. I presume that she is still training.”
I dropped the guard and bolted to the training room. I was stunned to see Olivia on the floor unconscious, and her trainers were trying desperately to revive her.
“What happened?!”
“I don’t know. We finished a sparring session, and she wanted to go again. We asked her to take a break, but she refused and then just fell unconscious.”
The female trainer explained frantically. The male trainer explained that they had called the ambulance but had yet to arrive.
I looked at Olivia’s pale face. Her breathing was getting weaker, and the doctors hadn’t arrived yet.
I called again, and they assured me they were on their way. While we waited, we tried every possible way to get her to wake up, but nothing worked.
Finally, they came, and we all made space for them.
They brought in the stretcher, placed her on it and carried her away. My head was spinning, and my heart was in agony. What had happened to my Princess?
I didn’t hesitate and dashed out after them.
“What is wrong with her?!”
Two medics stopped me and tried to calm me down, but I was still yelling.
“Please, Alpha, we need you to stay calm.”
“No! What’s wrong with her?! What happened?!”
“We don’t know yet, but I suggest that you come along with us to the hospital so that you can be present to fill out any forms that might be required.”
I huffed, got into my car and drove after the speeding ambulance.
