Olivia’s POV
We pulled up together in front of a very fancy and exotic restaurant. The bright lights made the scenery look like something out of a fantasy story. I was dazzled by the beauty and the expensively dressed customers who walked in and out of the establishment.
“I never knew that a place like this existed in the pack,” I told Andre, not taking my eyes off the beautiful restaurant.
I could hear him chuckle lightly. It was easy to tell that he was amused by my surprise.
“I know that you’ve not had so much time to explore this place even though you have been staying here for almost six months now.”
I turned and smiled naughtily at Andre.
“And I wonder who’s fault that is? Probably a certain over-protective someone who wouldn’t seem too happy seeing me around other men.”
I couldn’t resist throwing a playful jab at Andre, and he smiled and threw one back.
“Maybe if another certain someone had probably asked, she would have gotten to see here, and I would have taken her with me.”
I laughed and conceded to defeat. Andre had bested me in this one.
“I guess things have just been so crazy that I haven’t really thought about going sightseeing in the pack I now call home.”
Andre took my hand and squeezed it affectionately.
“I know things are taking a strange turn, but you should know that I’m always going to be here with you. Just enjoy tonight. It’s just for the both of us.”
He got out of the car, walked to my side of the door and opened it for me like the perfect gentleman that he was. I was a bit nervous, but he gave me his hand and helped me to get out.
“My lady,” he said huskily, politely bowing me.
I tried to make my accent sound as Victorian as possible for a comical effect.
“Thank you, kind sir.”
My Victorian lady impression was downright awful, and it made Andre laugh.
“I think I prefer my woman to talk the way she has always done.”
I blushed, and soon we headed inside.
We had a table reserved for us, and a waiter showed us to it. The atmosphere smelled wonderful, as exotic dishes tinged the air. People were staring at us, but Andre held me close, and his presence made me disregard all the eyes that were on us. I only had eyes for him.
The menu soon came, and we placed our order. I was sceptical about what to eat since I had never seen any of these dishes here before. I couldn’t even pronounce most of the names.
“Olivia, have you made your choice yet?”
I glanced over the menu again and chose what I thought to be pasta.
Andre could tell I wasn’t sure what to eat and made the rest of the orders with my pasta.
While we waited for the food, a waiter brought us a bottle of red wine. I had never drunk in my life, but Andre reassured me that this wouldn’t get me tipsy as long as I took just a few glasses.
He poured me a glass, and we clinked them together. He made a toast for a beautiful evening.
A complex bitter taste bedazzled me as soon as the wine hit my tongue. My face contorted immediately, confused about what expression to make.
Andre couldn’t help but laugh at the slight of my disfigured face, and I couldn’t help but laugh as well.
The waiter soon appeared with the food trolley and placed our orders on the table.
“Your meals have been served. Do enjoy and have a beautiful evening.”
I was so excited because all the food smelled wonderful. I could feel my mouth watering and was anxious to dig in.
I reached for the serviette, but the paper covered something. As soon as I raised it, I saw a small diamond-encrusted box beneath it.
My heart began to beat rapidly as I saw Andre pick up the box, walk to my side and get down on a knee.
“Olivia, I have waited for you for twenty years, and now, not a day goes by without me thinking of you and a way for you to be part of my life every day. Will you make me the happiest man and Alpha by accepting to be my bride?”
He opened the box, and a beautiful diamond ring dazzled me.
“Olivia, will you marry me?”
The entire restaurant went silent, and everyone was staring at me. It was only then I noticed Jaxon and Doran in the restaurant. My heart was pounding as everyone waited for my answer.
“Yes! Yes, Andre. I will marry you.”
I never thought I would see Andre this happy as he took the ring out of the box and slipped it onto my finger. The entire restaurant erupted into applause, and Doran, with a beautiful lady looping her arm around his, walked up to us.
“Congratulations to both of you. I am so happy that Olivia has finally brought my friend out of eternal bachelorhood.”
Doran threw a jab, but his lady playfully hit his hand.
“Babe, you have to stop bothering Andre like this. I wonder how he puts up with you at work.”
Doran chuckled and pulled his lady closer to himself.
“Olivia, this is my wife, Amelia. Amelia, this is Olivia, Andre’s bride-to-be.”
I was stunned. I had never seen Doran’s wife, but he had mentioned her a couple of times.
She shook my hand pleasantly and beamed at me with the widest smile.
“Wow,” I exclaimed. “You look so young.”
She had the most beautiful laugh, too.
“Really? How old did you expect me to look? Let me tell you a little secret.”
She pulled me closer playfully and whispered loud enough for the men to hear.
“The secret to controlling these men is not really age. Just stick with me, and I’ll show you how to keep him wrapped around your finger.”
I couldn’t help but adore Amelia. She also offered to help me prepare to become Luna. She was a wonderful person. I couldn’t believe Doran had bagged her.
“I believe that the two of you should tuck into your meal. That food isn’t going to eat itself,” chuckled Doran as he saw the larger order Andre had made.
He was right. I was famished.
