Rosalind returned to the table to find Adrian fawningly pouring drinks for the boss. Seeing her approach, he immediately vacated a seat next to the boss for her. This kind of workplace harassment was something Rosalind had experienced many times before. She didn’t need to give face, so she pretended not to notice and sat back in her original seat.
Adrian glanced at his boss, relieved to see no signs of anger. “Miss Ruell, Mr. Sanderson has been praising you! He thinks you have a great image, excellent temperament, and your work ability must be outstanding to have reached the position of project director at such a young age.”
“Mr. Sanderson’s praise is too much; I don’t deserve it,” Rosalind smiled and picked up her glass. “Mr. Sanderson, I toast to you.”
Mr. Sanderson nodded enthusiastically. “Good, good! I’ll drink it all.”
Brandon observed their interaction and guessed that Miss Ruell wouldn’t be able to return to the hotel sober today. He secretly messaged Natalie, asking her to arrange a car and wait at the restaurant entrance so they could take Miss Ruell back to the hotel directly after the dinner.
“Today, Miss Ruell and I briefly discussed some cooperation details. We can see Eastsun Corporation’s sincerity,” Adrian steered the conversation back to work.
Rosalind understood what he meant-he was dissatisfied with Eastsun Corporation’s terms-but she had to pretend not to notice since negotiations needed to continue.
“Yes, you can see our sincerity is genuine. I was originally on a business trip in Wayer City, but our boss specifically sent me to Jingtown because he didn’t want others messing things up and causing any misunderstandings.”
Mr. Sanderson nodded vigorously and refilled Rosalind’s empty glass.
Adrian noticed and said with a smile, “Miss Ruell, try this wine. Mr. Sanderson brought it especially for you! He doesn’t share it with just anyone.”
“Oh? Then I must try it.”
In reality, Rosalind couldn’t tell good wine from bad wine; she just closed her eyes and drank.
“You two shouldn’t just sit there; have a drink too,” Adrian suddenly turned his attention to Brandon and Natalie.
If they refused now, it would be hard to explain later.
Rosalind wanted to intervene, but Mr. Sanderson spoke first. “I can see Miss Ruell values you both highly since she brought you here today. It shows your strong work abilities; you might even lead your own projects in the future! Drink this wine, and we’ll be acquainted. I love drinking good wine with good company.”
Natalie wasn’t as strong a drinker as Rosalind and wanted to decline, but Brandon stopped her by tugging on her sleeve.
He knew that if Rosalind spoke up for them now, all the effort she’d put into drinking earlier would be wasted.
“Thank you, Mr. Sanderson, but I’m afraid they’ll waste your good wine!” Rosalind furrowed her elegant brows, still trying to protect them.
But Mr. Sanderson was determined not to let them off. “Nonsense! Just drink!”
With their glasses in front of them and filled with wine, there was no other option.
Brandon closed his eyes, picked up his glass, and drank it all in one go!
