?Days later
Since he had merged his company with the Carthwright Group and travelled to take over, Nicholas really didn’t have much work to do back here in Washington DC.
Apart from spending quality time with Catherine, the only thing he could do was try to come up with more suitable ideas on how to rally shareholders in the company to his side.
So, most of the time, when Catherine wasn’t around, he buries himself in his study, busy coming up with more ideas. He also made sure to call his sister all the time to know how she’s faring.
She has been on the vacation for a long while now and she’s already complaining about being tired and homesick, but he gives her excuses on why she should stay there.
He didn’t want any of his enemies to find out that he has a sister because that would help them connect the dot on his true identity, thereby soiling his plans. He has come too far to lose now.
Also, he made sure he had his most trusted and able bodyguards watching her from afar every second as she didn’t really like them too close, so he was able to know she was always safe from harm and all of his enemies.
As he stayed locked up in his study, busy thinking of the next step to take, he recieved a phone call. Thinking it was Catherine, he didn’t bother to see who was calling and just picked the call.
“Hello my love.” He called out in a loving tone with a wide smile playing on his lips the moment the call connected.
“Nicholas..” A bubbly voice resounded. He immediately knew that it wasn’t Catherine and moved the phone away from his ear and stared at the screen so as to see who was calling but it was an unknown number.
“Who’s this?” He asked, confusion laced in his voice. He wondered why a lady would have his number since he hardly deals with them.
“Have you forgotten so soon??” She asked, her high pitched voice and reduced its tone like she was sad. He didn’t answer or feel guilty since he didn’t exchange numbers with any one that needed to be remembered.
“It’s me, Rachel.” She said, reminding him of the misunderstanding he had with his wife weeks ago. A frown grew on his face when he recalled how she was the cause of it.
“How did you get my number?” He asked, his voice not holding any hint of warmth at all but Rachel chose not to read the signs that he didn’t want to have that conversation with her.
“I got it from my brother. I called to let you know that I’m in Washington.” She announced.
“Why?” He asked in a nonchalant tone.
“To see you of course.” She answered making him groan in frustration.
“Why would you want to see me?” He asked again.
“My brother asked me to deliver some important files to you.” She said making Nicholas go mute.
He and Rafael never discussed sharing of any important file. He wondered if she’s just lying and trying to see him but then again, he couldn’t refuse her as he’s trying to get Rafael to his side.
“Alright then, I’ll set up a meeting spot so I can get the files.” He answered. He figured he could also use that time to introduce his wife and Rachel so she would stop disturbing him.
“There’s no need to go through such stress, I’m already close to your house.” She said, making his ears ting. He stood up from his chair immediately like he had just heard a bad news.
“What did you just say?” He asked, like he didn’t hear her before.
“I’m close to your house so let me in when I get there. Bye.” She said and ended the call before he could say any other thing. He tried calling her again but she didn’t answer him.
He groaned in anger and rubbed his face in frustration. Why was she here and worse of all, how did she find out where he lived? What would Catherine do when she comes back and finds her here??
He couldn’t send her back now and Rachel knew that, that’s the reason she came straight over to his house. What will he do now? He can’t let Catherine find her here.
He knew how long it took for him to pacify her the last time. He just have to send her out immediately she delivers what she said she was asked to.
?
It didn’t take that long for Rachel to get to Nicholas’ house and she was ushered in immediately as per Nicholas’ request. She stepped out of her car, holding a briefcase and smiled as her eyes roamed around the huge mansion.
“He sure does have an expensive taste.” She muttered to herself before entering the mansion. In the living room, she was greeted by a grim looking Nicholas.
“Where’s the file?” He asked immediately he set his eyes on her.
“Is that how you welcome your guests? No greeting at all?” Shd asked with a small frown on her face.
“A guest can’t be welcomed if he or she comes unnoticed. Besides, we’ve already shared our greetings when we called. Now, where is the file you came to deliver?” He asked again, not failing to show how impatient he was.
Rachel, though angry that he wasn’t warming up to her like she had thought he would even after the seductive dress she was putting on decided to hold back. She was already in his house and she was going to do what she came for no matter how hard he resists.
“Alright then, can I at least have a cup of water? I have been traveling for a long time and haven’t had anything to eat or drink at all.” She said.
Nicholas stared at her silently and then sighed deeply. He figured he should at least offer her something to drink so he left and went into the kitchen. He poured out water from a bottle into a cup and placed it on a tray before heading back into the living room.
There, what he saw wasn’t what he had ever dreamt of happening. A fully clothed Rachel was suddenly naked and seated comfortably on the chair.
“What are you doing?” He asked in surprise, drawing her attention to him.
“You like what you see?” She asked back as she stood up and took slow seductive steps towards him.
He stared at her in confusion, not knowing the next step to take. She didn’t come here to deliver any message but rather, to seduce him. Too bad, he wasn’t feeling anything, only disgust and helplessness even though she had taken off every fabric on her body.
He really hated women that throw themselves at men and worst of all, she was his cousin. Even though he was feeling just hate for her, he was also unsettled. What if Catherine barged into them in this situation? It wouldn’t be funny.
He took in a deep breath, trying to stop himself from lashing out at her; “Put on your clothes back.”
Rachel on the other hand, smiled happily. She had mistook his unsettled behavior as a sign that he felt attracted to her so she did the unthinkable.
“Why should I put it on when you obviously like me this way.” She muttered as she suddenly grabbed his manhood, expecting it to be hard but she was really surprised to feel it flaccid.
That was the last straw for Nicholas. He couldn’t take it anymore so he didn’t try to hide how angry and disgusted he felt.
“Since you don’t want to put on your clothes like I had asked, you’ll have to leave my house with nothing on.” He muttered and grabbed her hand and was about to pull her out with him when the door opened, and Catherine walked in, her eyes filled with shock as she stared at the horrid screen in front of her.
