Especially since Natalie had a sudden issue, Rosalind first met with Brandon alone the next day, and then waited for Natalie to return from the hospital before all three went to the conference room. After deciding on the due diligence process and the division of responsibilities, Natalie stood up and apologized to Rosalind, bowing slightly, “I’m sorry, Miss Ruell… It was my gluttony that delayed our work. It won’t happen again.”
“It’s okay. The food in Jingtown is delicious; I can understand,” Rosalind said as she got up and patted her on the shoulder.
“Let’s perform this due diligence perfectly, and I’ll ask Lion for some extra benefits for you both when I get back to the company.”
“Miss Ruell, you are too kind! Thank you!” Natalie said, visibly moved and nearly in tears.
“There are still people talking behind your back, they just don’t know you!”
At this, Brandon quickly gave her a look, signaling her not to say anything careless. Rosalind smiled, “It’s fine, I’m used to it. Some people lack competence at work but excel in spreading rumors. Such people will eventually be weeded out by the company. It doesn’t bother me.”
Sometimes when she saw Natalie, Rosalind was reminded of Tilda from years ago. She was also outspoken, naive, and clearly pampered by her parents, surrounded by love from childhood.
Brandon was sent by Rosalind to the business registry without any prior notice, thinking it might catch them off guard and reveal some real information. Natalie, not being good at communicating and still recovering from gastroenteritis, was asked to wait in the hotel. If needed, she could be called at any time.
Rosalind went alone to Jingtown’s Zenith Holdings, which was the company under investigation. She was greeted by a young man in a suit who appeared slightly older than her but not by much, always with a ready smile, giving off the vibe of a seasoned corporate player.
“This collaboration with Eastsun Corporation is highly valued by our CEO! We hope for a pleasant partnership.”
Rosalind returned the smile, “That is certainly our mutual hope! Zenith has been a prominent business in Jingtown for many years. It’s an honor for Eastsun Corporation to collaborate with you.”
The man arched his eyebrows slightly and handed her his business card.
“My name is Adrian, the project manager at Zenith.”
“Nice to meet you, Rosalind,” she replied.
After some small talk, it was time to get down to business. Adrian suggested they could go to a restaurant to discuss details while eating, but considering the incident at Prosperity Holdings previously, Rosalind was reluctant to go to a restaurant alone with a man.
In case something similar happened, Ulric would not be there to intervene again.
“I think the restaurant might be too noisy. Let’s have dinner together after work,” she thought, planning to invite Brandon and Natalie along to avoid any issues.
Adrian nodded in agreement, “Okay.”
The two then entered the conference room where Rosalind laid out the terms from Eastsun Corporation, naturally involving sensitive matters of interest, which seemed to displease Adrian.
As an Eastsun Corporation employee, maximizing the company’s interests was Rosalind’s duty.
“I need to discuss these points with my boss! Miss Ruell, how long do you plan to stay in Jingtown?”
“Once the collaboration is finalized, I’ll be heading back. There’s a lot more to do at the company,” Rosalind hinted that she was here in good faith. If the partnership failed, it would be the other party’s fault, not Eastsun Corporation’s.
