Chapter 469: Regan is Missing

Book:Married The Day We Met Published:2024-11-18

Today, Regan still didn’t come to the studio. Callie had some design details she wanted to discuss with her, so she called her, but no one answered.
Litzy came over and asked, “Still no answer?”
Callie nodded. The last time she saw Regan was on the opening day. Although Regan was the boss and didn’t need to be there every day, she had always been very dedicated to the studio. Suddenly disappearance was not her style.
Thinking about the injuries she saw on Regan’s arm last time, Callie was very worried.
A few more days passed, and Regan still hadn’t shown up.
“Forget it, I’ll go find her.” Callie couldn’t sit still any longer. She packed her things and left the studio.
However, just as she reached the elevator, the doors slowly opened, revealing a familiar figure. Callie was startled, “…Isaac?”
Since their last meeting, he looked much more haggard, with stubble on his jaw indicating he was very tired.
He walked past Callie and went straight into the studio, searching around. Callie followed him, “What are you looking for?”
“Where’s Regan? She’s here, isn’t she?” His tone was forceful.
Callie laughed in anger, “I was going to ask you that. Regan hasn’t been here for days. Isn’t she at home?”
Isaac’s face darkened, and his mouth turned downwards.
Callie finally understood something and sharply asked, “What did you do to her?”
Since marrying Isaac, Regan had been very unhappy. It wasn’t hard to guess.
“That day, I lost control and accidentally hurt her,” Isaac said calmly.
Callie raised an eyebrow, thinking that this “accident” might not have been so accidental.
“Was it the first time you hurt her?”
Isaac turned his face away at her question.
Silence was the best answer. Callie understood. She angrily took out her phone to make a call, muttering to herself, “Men are all the same.”
Isaac ran a hand through his hair and closed his eyes.
The call didn’t go through.
Callie threw down her phone and sneered, “Don’t you all have immense power? Check the surveillance, track her location. You wouldn’t hesitate to use your resources for this, would you?”
They had already checked the surveillance.
Regan had driven away from the Ellison family home and headed towards the northern mountains. The mountainous area was rugged with many blind spots in the surveillance. They tracked her all the way and found that she had gone up the mountain alone.
The northern mountains in Ylosea were undeveloped and extremely remote.
Callie frowned. She had heard before that Regan loved outdoor adventures. Skydiving, bungee jumping from mountain tops, snow climbing-she sought out danger as if she had a death wish.
She had once said that during a bungee jump, the rope suddenly snapped, and she plummeted ten meters down, scaring the staff on site.
Fortunately, there was a large body of water below, so she wasn’t in life-threatening danger, but it was terrifying enough.
Since then, Regan had reassured her friends and family that she wouldn’t engage in extreme challenges anymore and indeed hadn’t gone alone for a long time.
So why did she go to the northern mountains now?
“The weather bureau says it will rain tonight,” Callie casually reminded Isaac, who was searching for her location.
She saw his body stiffen noticeably.
Callie continued, “Regan is your wife. If something happens to her, can you really live with yourself?”
Every word pierced Isaac’s heart, hitting his weak spot that he had been avoiding. It was both a wake-up call and a reminder.
Isaac’s visit today was nothing more than an attempt to find some excitement here to get over his mental hurdle. He left Callie’s office in a very low mood, filled with anger.
She casually tossed the documents in her hand onto the desk.
