After entering the room, she took a breath and found that there was no trace of that gas.
She sighed in relief.
This amethyst needed to be studied carefully.
She wanted to experiment to discover its most potent effect.
She didn’t believe it merely caused dizziness and confusion; there had to be other uses.
She put on a protective mask and opened the jar. She took out the first amethyst, which glowed with a crystal-clear light under the lamp, appearing moist and lustrous.
As she shone a flashlight on it, she was stunned.
Frowning, she directly smashed the amethyst, revealing a piece of paper inside.
The paper contained a very detailed map, with a location marked.
Palace of Elegance?
What kind of place was this?
She had never heard of it before.
She started searching on Google but only found some online novels mentioning a place called Palace of Elegance, which seemed absurd.
She didn’t read online novels.
How ridiculous!
Palace of Elegance… She sent Franklin a message on Messenger, “Do you know what Palace of Elegance is?”
“Palace of Elegance?” Franklin called her immediately, his magnetic voice sounding low and husky in Sylvia’s ear. “Why are you asking about such a place? It’s the first time I’ve heard of it.”
Sylvia explained that the map marked a location called the Palace of Elegance. “It’s strange. The map is very detailed, with a starting point and an endpoint, which is Palace of Elegance, but…”
Franklin chuckled softly, “Why don’t we look for the starting point? Maybe we’ll find something unexpected.”
Sylvia raised an eyebrow, “You can come with me?”
“Do I need a reason to go with you?” Franklin’s voice was penetrating, reaching Sylvia’s ear through the phone waves, sounding as if he were right in front of her. “Wherever you are, I want to be.”
“Alright, we’ll set off after Sabrina’s birthday party.” Sylvia chatted with Franklin for a few more minutes before hanging up.
She thought for a moment and then sent Jaden a message, asking him to keep an eye out for any information related to the Palace of Elegance.
Sabrina’s birthday party arrived quickly.
Willy Hotel was one of the most upscale hotels in Aettosa City, and Lucille had chosen it as the venue for the birthday party. The environment was beautiful and the prices were high.
Tonight’s party saw Lucille inviting many celebrities and bigwigs, making it a grand event.
After all… Lucille was at the peak of her power in Aettosa.
The entrance hall of the hotel was adorned with a bright red carpet, and there was a large sign-in area next to the door. Guests arriving at the party felt like stars walking the red carpet. The first thing they did upon arrival was write birthday wishes at the sign-in area and take a photo before entering the hall.
This act was full of ceremony, which was Sabrina’s favorite part.
Outside the hotel was already bustling with people who loved to see celebrities and stars, eager to catch a glimpse of these big names. It felt like the opening of a film festival, especially with many stars present to add excitement.
Luxury cars stopped outside one after another, stars entered one by one, and big names usually seen only on TV arrived, each appearance causing exclamations from the crowd.
Some media were frantically snapping photos, and some even boldly conducted interviews on the spot.
On such an occasion, stars were happy to cooperate. After all, being associated with Lucille was a matter of pride and honor.
Lucille, being the host, did not greet guests at the door; it would have been beneath her status.
There were staff specifically assigned to welcome guests.
She wore an expensive burgundy dress, looking elegant and dignified, holding a glass of red wine while chatting with several bigwigs.
Two handsome male stars approached respectfully to greet Lucille.
One of them, named Blake, handed over premiere tickets. “Hello, the movie ‘Cold Stares at You’ is about to premiere. We hope you can attend.”
Lucille handed the tickets to her assistant behind her. “I won’t attend the premiere. I’ll send Sabrina instead.”
“Alright, alright. It’s touching that you remember ‘Cold Stares at You’ despite your busy schedule,” Blake said excitedly.
“Since I invested in it, I naturally hope it becomes a hit,” Lucille smiled. “Where is Director Brice?”
“Brice is ill and couldn’t come…” Blake said cautiously, looking embarrassed and afraid that Lucille might get angry.
“Oh, what a coincidence,” Lucille said without further comment.
At that moment, a man hurried over and whispered something in her ear.
Lucille’s expression remained unchanged, but she smiled meaningfully. “What an unfortunate death!”
“How should we handle this?” The man asked without looking up at her.
“Suppress this news until tomorrow,” Lucille said coldly. “Today is Sabrina’s birthday!”
“Yes.” The man immediately left to carry out her orders.
Blake and the other man stood there awkwardly, unsure whether to stay or leave.
Lucille’s aura was too strong for them to move.
Just then, the crowd parted automatically. Lucille looked over and saw her daughter Sabrina coming down from upstairs. Sabrina was beautiful and well-dressed tonight, naturally radiant.
Lucille was pleased with her daughter’s red dress. Red was flattering, making her look healthy and beautiful. Tonight was Sabrina’s night after all.
Standing in the center of the stage, Lucille scanned the crowd before speaking. “Thank you all for attending my daughter’s birthday party. Let’s not waste time; enjoy yourselves tonight.”
With that, she clapped her hands. A twelve-layer cake over two meters tall was pushed out.
The guests began singing Happy Birthday enthusiastically, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
At this moment, Sylvia arrived at the hotel entrance with Clare and Mollie accompanying her as they got out of the car together.
“I have a bad feeling about this,” Sylvia said to Mollie as they looked at the crowded hall. “Lucille sent gifts this afternoon and insisted that Aunt Mollie attend the party. Something feels off.”
Mollie gently touched her pregnant belly; she was in her mid-pregnancy with a noticeable baby bump.
“Sylvia, maybe you’re overthinking it! What could she do in front of so many people?”
Sylvia held her hand. “Regardless, we should be cautious.”
Clare interrupted them. “Let’s go inside.”
The three headed towards the banquet hall. As soon as they stepped in, they heard cheers from the crowd.
Their entrance drew everyone’s attention immediately.
Especially Sylvia; her looks and aura outshone many socialites present. She wore a silver dress that instantly made her stand out, paired with black diamond-studded heels and diamond earrings. Every move she made exuded elegance and sophistication.
Mollie wore a puffy dress that concealed her pregnancy bump beautifully.
Clare looked like their protector in his white suit, exuding nobility and charm.
Many men couldn’t help but glance at Sylvia; such a stunning woman made their hearts race uncontrollably.
Wherever they went, people stepped aside for them. Even many bigwigs dared not block their path.
They didn’t know why but felt completely captivated by Sylvia’s elegance.
Sylvia took a glass of red wine and juice from a waiter, handing one to Clare and the other to Mollie.
She took another glass of red wine for herself and sipped it gracefully.
Some men wanted to strike up conversations but she ignored them all.
Soon enough, the cake was cut and everyone got a piece. Sylvia wasn’t interested in cake; she asked Mollie beside her, “Aunt Mollie, do you want some?”
Mollie shook her head and pointed to the buffet area. “I’d rather have some Black Forest cake from there.”
“I’ll get it for you,” Sylvia smiled brightly at her before heading towards the buffet area.
As soon as she left, several members of the piano association surrounded Clare.
Mollie decided to go to the resting area herself. As she carefully lifted her puffy skirt to protect her belly from being bumped by passing guests, suddenly a woman came out of nowhere and crashed into Mollie hard.
Mollie staggered backward several steps and was about to fall heavily when a figure in a silver dress swiftly leaped forward. An arm reached out to catch Mollie’s arm just in time; Mollie’s body spun around before landing safely in Sylvia’s embrace.
Mollie was so shocked that she could barely stand on her legs. “Sylvia… Sylvia…”
Sylvia glared at the woman sternly. “My aunt is pregnant; please be more careful.”
The woman turned pale with fear; she was just a small star who had managed to get in with Blake’s invitation. She had never seen such grand occasions before and was now terrified almost to tears. “I didn’t mean it! I don’t know how I ended up rushing out like that; someone seemed to push me…”
Tears welled up in her eyes as she explained frantically. She couldn’t afford to offend Sylvia or the Hipps Family! She kept pleading, “It wasn’t me… It wasn’t me; please believe me.”
At this moment Clare rushed over too; he took Mollie from Sylvia’s arms and comforted her gently. “Honey, are you alright?”
