Elara;
“I didn’t see your phone, Nova. When I opened my eyes that day, I was already in the Omega’s home. The first people I saw were Marion and the other lady. Why don’t we speak to Marion? She knows something. I saw her in my first dream. She stood right in front of your car, and just when you tried to avoid her, your car crashed into the woods. She knows something about that day.”
“Yeah, Elara. She does. I’ve gotten back my total memories. I clearly recall everything that happened that day.”
“Seriously?” I raise a brow. This is one of the best news ever. At least, Nova recalls the whole truth of that day and will be able to handle her shit.
“Marion! I need to speak with her,” Nova rushes out of bed, and makes her way out. My hand presses onto my temple, my head lowers as Eli tries to help me push back the little pain I still feel in my head.
Nova and I had blanked out earlier, and I found myself in one of those dreams. Her wolf was heading toward her and Eli came for me. That was the moment Eli informed me about the switching, and I understood the reason why Nova and I collapsed together.
But what triggered it?
That is something I can’t seem to comprehend.
“E…. Elara,” Alpha Arthur moves closer to me. “I can sense your wolf, you are back,” his lips press together, his eyes flickering with excitement. I know if he has the chance to scream, he will do that. He’s just holding back because of the environment.
He sits on the bed, his hand snakes out, cupping my cheek. “This feels like a movie, Elara. But I’m glad. Can I hug you, please?”
Nodding my head eagerly.
Alpha Arthur pulls me closer to himself, and belts his hands around me. My chin rests on his shoulder, his cheek pressing against my side. “This is the best day of my life. You are back to your body, baby,” gently, he strokes my hair.
It’s been a while since I heard him call me ‘baby.’ I’ve missed his tender husky voice. His touch, his body, and everything that has to do with him. Happy I’m finally in his arms once again, and this time, with my body.
“Can I kiss you?” He asks the moment he breaks off the hug. His eyes sprint back and forth through my face, waiting for a response.
“Why do you seek permission? You can,” with my words, I softly bit my lower lips.
In pleasure.
Alpha Arthur pulls closer and just when he’s about to fix his lips on mine, the loud arguments from the living room cut us off.
“That sounds like Nova,” I pause a little, paying full attention to the voices. It’s indeed Nova. I think she is trying to expose Josephine and David. “Nova wants to tell the truth, Alpha Arthur. We need to head to the living room.”
“What truth?”
“About David and her best friend.” I jumped out of bed. Rushing to the living room, Alpha Arthur follows behind me.
“You all have to listen to me, Father. I’m telling the truth,” Nova’s fingers dig through her hair, her feet pacing back and forth in frustration.
Everyone stands in the living room looking at her like she’s crazy. Aside from Josephine, who held her Mother tightly, tears gushed down her cheeks. Such a pretentious bitch! She was putting in the best act ever.
I could tell no one believed Nova. They think something is wrong with her mentally.
“Enough, Nova! That’s enough drama for the day,” Alpha Maxwell roars, his eyes glimmering with anger.
“Father, please believe me. Why would….”
Instantly, I hurried toward her. Holding her hand and making her step back a little, I whisper to her, “You need to stop talking, Nova. No one believes you.”
“But Elara, I have…”
“Please listen to me, Nova. We will do this but with evidence. If you keep going, everyone will think you hate your best friend. Please stop speaking for now,” I breathe the words. And thank Goddess, Nova decides to listen to me.
The best decision ever.
She bows her head in the direction of her Father. “I’m sorry for acting crazy. I’ve been through a lot lately and I think it’s time to take it easy on me. I will just go in and start my preparation for the Full Moon night,” and with that, Nova walks away.
“I told you she is acting so strange, Father. Nova is different from the sister she used to be,” Kingsley sighs.
“Excuse me, Alpha Arthur. I need to speak with Nova,” I speak under my breath. He lightly nods his head, granting me permission and I make my way to Nova’s room.
Entering the room and closing the door, my eyes find Nova. She is on the bed with her face buried. I can hear her whimpering. Nova was actually crying. I know and understand her pain.
You see that scenario when you are trying to tell the truth, but no one believes you. Not even your parents. It hurts as fuck.
“Did you get the phone from Marion?” I fix my ass on the side of her bed. Sitting a few inches closer to her.
“I couldn’t get access to Marion,” she cries out. This is the first time I’ve seen her act so vulnerable. Honestly, she was hurting badly.
“Then why did you make the attempt to try to expose Josephine and David? You know it’s gonna be difficult for anyone to believe you. Even when you requested that I do it for you, I had my doubts but still needed to give it a try. Didn’t want to disappoint you.”
I already had the feeling it might be a little hard to convince everyone of the truth. I see the way Alpha Maxwell and his family treat Beta Goddard and his. They all typically act like one big family. Which is a usual thing that happens with every Alpha and Beta.
In fact, some Betas and their households live in the same mansion with their Alphas. That’s how close the relationship between a Beta and his Alpha is. So, I expected Alpha Maxwell not to believe Nova’s words. He trusts his Beta so much, and yes, he is right.
Beta Goddard committed no offense. The offender is his daughter, but still, Alpha Maxwell will not believe the truth. Everyone thinks Josephine is the replica of her parents. They believed she was raised with good morals and respect.
With this logic, it will be very hard to prove anything to Alpha Maxwell. Our only best shot we have now is Nova’s phone, or whatever it contains.
“Hey, Nova, come here,” I hold her by the arm, helping her sit up on the bed. She hesitated for a while but finally sat upright on the bed. “Look at me,” my hands palms her cheeks, bringing her total focus to me. “We can fucking do this. And yes, we will. The Goddess knew it would be possible, and had already mentioned it. I don’t know how it will happen but trust yourself to carry out this mission.
Josephine and David will be exposed and they will face their waterlog. Don’t beat yourself so much about a battle that just started, and we’re not giving the fuck up. Did you get to speak with Marion?”
“Not yet, Elara. I asked other maids about her but they said she was not in the mansion. I was informed that Marion has been so busy of late. Going and coming back to the mansion when she pleases. Everyone is too busy, and no one even noticed this. Not even me.”
“It’s fine, Nova. Let’s start with….”
The door suddenly pushes open and Marion rushes in. She stands at the entrance panting like an animal who has just escaped death. But her presence instantly makes me feel happy as a little light of hope flashes in my heart.
“Marion!” Nova rushes out of bed. Meeting with her, “Where have you been? I have been searching everywhere for you.”
“I’m so sorry my Princess. I went to look for it,” Marion holds her knees, panting.
“What did you go to look for, and why are you panting this way? Did someone chase you?” Nova questions her.
“The phone, My Princess! I went to search for it. I lost it that day when my sister and I tried to save your life after your car crashed. I’ve been searching for it ever since, but….”
“Why were you at the scene of the incident? I recall you were standing right in front of my car and I crashed into the woods trying to avoid you,” Nova cuts in.
“You ordered me to meet you up, Princess.”
“I did?” Nova points at her chest, her eyes widening in shock.
“Yes, My Princess. You called me that day, crying over the phone. You told me about David and Josephine and how you have the evidence in your phone. You also mentioned that Josephine injected a wolfbane into your system the moment you rushed out of David’s home to your car.
You said they were trying to take your life because you found out the truth. You sounded very weak that day, and I recall you speaking over the phone with me and telling me how your wolf was slowly dying. But I’m sorry, My Princess. It’s my fault,” Marion’s knees fall to the ground before Nova.
“Why… Why are you sorry?”
“You had the crash that day because you were trying not to crash into me. Your car was going at a very high speed, and I stupidly rushed to the front. I’m very sorry, please don’t spare my life. I will face my punishment.”
“Rise to your feet, Marion. You did nothing wrong,” Nova helps straighten her to her feet. “Rather, I should be saying thank you to you. You stood by me through everything, and even saved my life that day. Thank you so much, Marion.”
“That’s so kind of you, My Princess. I’m very honored. Good news, Princess. I found the phone,” Marion announces, and my heart instantly jumps in excitement.
Finally!!!!
