Nova;
I doubt if Elara will agree to help me do this, but I still need to give it my best shot. She is my only hope. I can’t stand to see Josephine and David happy after what they did to me.
My family does not know the child of Josephine belongs to David, and I bet her parents also don’t know. Well, she lied to everyone. I overheard their conversation in the living room, and I heard her lies.
The father of my child is in the States and will be back soon. Lies. You all do not know him. Another lie. He’s my fated mate. Probably that was the only truth she told them.
The stupid David was also inside the living room with them. Seeing the joy that spread on his face, I felt like slashing him with my claws. He’s happy to have a child with my best friend, after they betrayed me.
I will never let them eat their cake and have it.
“Elara, you need to help me tell the truth about these two. You’re the one in possession of my body, and you own my voice. Please.”
“You don’t need to beg, Nova. I will help you. Just tell me what you want me to say,” her positive words make my heart dance in excitement.
“David and Josephine are expecting a baby. The families don’t know the baby belongs to David. Josephine lied to everyone. I want you to speak out to everyone about the day I found out about their betrayal. I will explain it all to you, so you know what best to say.”
I take Elara to a corner and break down everything bit by bit for her. I told her about David’s family bankruptcy and how I found out the truth at David’s home when he had the conversation with Josephine.
I explained to Elara how vividly I saw David pinned Josephine to the wall and fucked her hard. Both of them thought I was fast asleep. But there was something I couldn’t mention to Elara because I didn’t clearly get the image; my mental and physical states at that time.
I’m unable to recall what happened after I rushed out of David’s house that day, and why I fell into deep sleep in David’s home. So, I’m yet to figure out how I got involved in my accident. The dots weren’t connecting, and I couldn’t explain them to Elara. But I hope she gets to do her best when we return to the living room.
Please, Goddess, help us not to mess things up. This is my golden opportunity to expose them.
“And lest I forget, Elara,” I grab her hands when we make to leave the garden. Rubbing her hands, mine can’t stop trembling.
“What’s it, Nova? You look scared.”
“Yes, I am. I feel we need to be very careful. I’m having very awkward feelings about tonight.”
“Why?”
“Tonight is the night of the Full Moon. A lot of wolves will get to shift for the first time, while some get to meet their fated mates. The Goddess will be in her full possession today, and we might get to feel her energy. Don’t understand why this bad feeling keeps creeping into my body, but let’s just be careful.”
“It’s fine, Nova. Nothing evil will happen to us, and for exposing Josephine and David, I promise to do a good job.”
Elara gives me the assurance needed before we return to join the others.
Entering, we see Alpha Arthur having a conversation with everyone, and just when I try to pull Elara by the hand and stop her from speaking up now, she voices out. “She is the one.”
“Uh? Who?” I shoot Elara a glance.
“She killed you, Nova,” Elara’s index finger points forward, and my eyes trail it in that direction. Elara was pointing at Josephine, and I noticed how Elara’s body was trembling.
“Josephine killed me? How?” The inside of my head suddenly spins as a sharp pain hits it. “Owwwwwwww!” I press my temples letting out a heart-wrenching cry.
Elara also screams out in pain, holding her temples. We were feeling the same energy at once.
“Aaaaaaaaiiiiiiiieeeee!!!” I fall to my knees, the whole of me shaking in agony. “Help me,” I softly cry, tears dropping down my cheeks.
“Elara! Nova! Nova! Elara!” I hear voices call out to us. My whole body instantly shudders and my mind shuts down as blackness takes over.
My eyelids blink as I hear Mother calling out my name, “Nova! Nova! You have to wake up, child. Please.” I feel her warm hand on my right cheek, and it feels real. So real like it wasn’t a dream.
This isn’t a dream, right?
I’m not in one of those crazy dreams, right? But why is Mother addressing me by my real name? Does she….?
My eyelids shoot open, and my gaze immediately takes in my surroundings. Mother, Father, Kingsley, Beta Goddard, his wife, Josephine, and David are all looking over me. Like they were waiting for me to wake up.
But then, they are not meant to be in this room but in the othe…. Hold on a minute! I’m in my room, not the one assigned to Alpha Arthur. How did I get here, I mean, why did they bring me here?
“Nova, are you alright? You just screamed and collapsed,” Mother runs her hand through my body. “Oh, thank Mother Goddess that you’re alright, my girl,” she spreads her hands, wrapping them around me in a warm embrace.
I sit upright, too stunned to speak. Why is Mother speaking to me this way? Did everyone find out about the soul-switching when Elara and I collapsed? And now, they know I’m the one in Elara’s body.
“What’s wrong, my child? Why do you look so confused? What happened? You collapsed alongside Alpha Arthur’s mate,” Father asks.
Elara! What happened to both of us?
“What day is it, Father?”
“Still the same day. You slept for 6 hours already. I was scared because the Full Moon celebration would start in just a few hours time and I wanted you to be present. You’ve not shifted since you returned. I need to be sure all is well with you.”
I can’t shift with Elara’s wolf. I don’t even know how to communicate with her. But why wasn’t I feeling Eli’s presence in my head? Is she mad at me and has gone to sleep again? Eli!! She is just as stubborn as her human, Elara.
Speaking of Elara, I need to reach out to her. I need her to expose the truth before everyone. There isn’t much time. I try to push myself out of bed but Mother holds me back, “You’re too weak to move, my child. Just rest a little longer.”
“I’m fine, Mother, just….” Wait! I’m indeed addressing my parents as my parents and everyone recognizes me as Nova. I need to confirm something.
I push myself off from bed, and rush to my dressing mirror. Standing in front of it, I immediately clutch my chest. This can’t be happening. I must be dreaming. How am I in my own body and not Elara’s? When did we switch souls?
My memories! They are completely back. I recall it all; what truly happened to me that day. Yeahhhh! This is great, but unbelievable. But now, I can expose them for what they truly are. Oh, thank Goddess.
My phone, where is it? I need it. Please, that’s my only hope.
Swinging around to gaze at everyone, my eyes ran in the direction of Mother. “Where is my phone, Mother? I need it.”
“You are acting strange, my child.”
“Don’t worry about my attitude. I’m fine. I just need my phone.”
“You’ve never requested your phone since you returned. You lost….”
Elara! She might have it with her.
My feet sprint out of the room to the room assigned to Alpha Arthur. I bust in without knocking.
Alpha Arthur stands up in surprise, “Elara!.. What are…?”
“Nova, and not Elara!” I make my way straight to Elara who is still on the bed with her eyes shut. She is my major concern and my last hope. I pray she has an idea about my phone.
“I don’t get you, Elara. What do you mean by Nova?”
“Alpha Arthur, we’ve gotten back our bodies. I’m no longer Elara but my true self, Nova,” I climb into the bed. I know Alpha Arthur is standing in shock in his position but I don’t care. I will get to explain it all to him after accomplishing my mission.
Lightly slapping Elara’s cheek, “Hey, Elara. You need to wake up now. We are back to our bodies and I need to speak with you. Elara,” I hit her hard.
“Haa! What the fuck is wrong with you stupid bitch? That hurts,” she holds her cheek, and sits upright on the bed.
“Sorry about hitting you so hard. We are back to our bodies. You have your body and I have mine.”
“I know,” she responded casually and wasn’t shocked the way I was. “I felt the presence of my wolf and she told me our souls were back in our bodies before you fucking decided to hit me hard. Thank Goddess it happened smoothly. I told you everything was fucking going to be fine.”
“My phone, Elara. Did you see my phone that day when you woke up? I need it. That’s the only evidence I have in bringing the truth to light.”
