POV: King Hades Pierce
“I heard that you had mistreated your Sacred Emissary… again.” Hades made a serious remark to his brother, who was lost in his books.
However, seeing how Raven was affected by the mere mention of that particular word, he smirked inwardly.
“Shut it off, Hades.” Raven darkly told him.
Irritation was filled by his voice.
“Oh, so cold. After giving her some azaleas, huh?” He playfully commented, as he couldn’t hide his smirk anymore.
Raven just clenched his jaw as he put his book on his lap and stared at him grimly.
“Whatever.” He stated darkly before the corner of his lips rose, this time giving him a mocking smile.
“Anyway, how about you, then? You have your own, right? The mark had been revealed. I can’t believe that the Lunar Pack is getting this huge responsibility.” Raven suddenly remarked.
His forehead instantly creased, but he couldn’t stop the excitement that suddenly embraced him.
Yes.
The Sacred Emissaries came from the Lunar Pack, and he had no problem with that. In fact, he was more than willing to follow.
‘What the f*ck are you thinking, Hades?’ A part of his mind shouted at him as he realized his own thoughts.
Tamara Vikesh.
She’s his destined mate the King’s mate.
Her messy, wavy crimson-red hair was making her more alluring as it danced with the cold breeze. Her dark brown almond-shaped eyes seemed to have a lot of words to say. She was way too perfect, naive, and innocent that he couldn’t stop himself from feeling possessive of her and protecting her.
He couldn’t believe that she could make him feel those emotions that he thought were long gone. She could easily wrap him around her little fingers if she wanted to.
But his trance of possibility with her vanished in an instant when she was kidnapped by the other pack – who wanted both the throne and power for themselves.
He knew who they were, but it wasn’t enough to condemn them. They were too cunning and ingenious with their own plans.
His wrath towards them intensified as he realized that they got them good this time.
It would be very difficult to find Tamara until her parents declared that she was already gone.
His insides were screaming for a bloodbath. He went to the South Side to ease his anger as well as to punish those who had done treacherous things towards him.
He couldn’t stop the coldness that embraced his entire being lifeless, cruel, vicious, heartless King, were just some of the words that could describe him.
But no!
Tamara wasn’t dead and he knew that. He could feel that she was still alive.
Well, that was what he tried to believe. Because deep inside his heart, he wanted to get hold of the last straw of sanity within him.
Because only Tamara could fill that gap only she could bring him back to life, the life that meant living.
In the meantime, he needed to busy himself with expanding his territory. He needed to eradicate the enemies, slowly.
However, they were already so established that they were always finding their way to escape which had him puzzled all the time.
He was thinking that someone might have been watching them from inside, but he couldn’t just admit it to himself. Not in his dream that he would have thought that someone from his loyal subordinates could ever betray him.
And those negative thoughts finally wavered as he met Tamara again.
With her, he had realized that hope was still there. That everything he had been patiently waiting for was worth it.
Although, she couldn’t remember anything, at least she had finally found her own way back to him.
He wanted to drag her claim her his at the very moment he saw her. He wanted to make sure that this time, he wouldn’t lose her anymore, but it wasn’t that easy.
Her life was in danger a lot of times that he just wanted to end it all for good.
And that he just wanted to point his fingers towards his enemies without gathering solid proof of their treachery.
However, he knew that once he did that, he would also lose everything that their parents had built their credibility to rule and the respect that they had gained from the very beginning that the Moon Goddess had given them the chance to be Royal Bloods.
And his enemies could easily bring him down powerless, making it easier for them to hurt the people he loves the most.
So, he did his best to move in his own possible way without giving away his own identity he had to move to guard Tamara, to save her even from the shadow, to protect her from a distance.
And he couldn’t believe how she’d grown so strong and gorgeous. He couldn’t believe that his love for her hadn’t wavered for such a very long time. He might have buried it beneath him, but slowly it had just intensified.
Only Tamara could make him lose his cool, make him mad, be scared out of his wits, make him the most possessive man, and the husband who had been waiting for her patiently all this time the one who loved her deeply and without any doubt.
The moment she had surpassed the final round, he couldn’t be more proud of her.
Right there and then, she had proven herself but for him, he knew that even though it had been a very long time ago, she had nothing to prove anymore because she had his heart already. She had been holding his heart the moment he laid his eyes on her even before she was declared as the Sacred Emissary.
However, his jealousy and selfishness always get the better of him. He didn’t know how to handle her, to handle their relationship, or to hold his emotions.
He lacked communication skills as well as the courage to tell her how he felt causing them to drift away.
And he couldn’t believe how he felt like he had been torn apart like a part of him was taken away. It was like his light had been taken away and darkness overtook him.
He knew that Tamara could live peacefully away from her roots from her wolf life. She was smart, beautiful, and easy-going. However, he wanted her selfishly and couldn’t live without her not now, not ever. He would do anything just to have her because he’s nothing without her.
“How is she?” Raven’s cold voice interrupted his thoughts as they walked out of the meeting room.
With that simple question, he couldn’t help but feel like sulking again. However, he must be strong.
They just finished discussing eradicating the Dark Wood Pack as well as all of their alliances for good.
Hades just shook his head. Raven let out a deep sigh.
“Anyway, are you sure that you will designate that masked woman to attend the Beta training? Is she even qualified? We don’t know her.” Raven suddenly commented.
He stared at his virtuoso brother and smirked at him.
“Why? For you to say that you might have something in mind.” He tried to act cool about it while hiding his mocking smile.
Raven just tsked and looked away.
“Stop teasing me. I just don’t like her.” Raven stated coldly before finally saying goodbye.
Hades just shook his head as he continued walking towards the third floor of the castle.
The moment he opened the door, he instantly felt nostalgic.
Tamara’s huge painting was in the middle of the room. He swallowed hard as he stared at her face lovingly.
It was like he suddenly felt it was hard to breathe. And he couldn’t believe that every time he entered that room, he always had that kind of feeling.
“When will I be accustomed to it?” He murmured under his breath.
He continued walking towards the only room inside. He opened the door and saw Tamika sitting on the couch nearby, holding a huge, thick book.
Her lifeless eyes moved towards him before she heaved a deep sigh.
“Finally. I still have things to do in my room. I need to go.” She seriously stated.
She had been in a comatose state for a month. Shanaia thought that she wouldn’t live that day, but her body hibernated as they went back to their home. After Tamika awakened, she and Shanaia went back to the castle and swore not to go away not until Tamara awakened.
He just nodded his head as he stared at his wife who seemed to have just slept soundly on the comfy and huge bed.
“Anyway, just call me if you need anything. I’ll just be in my room.” She coldly reminded him before she went out.
He couldn’t find any remorse over Tamika for letting Tamara decide this way. But Tamika was just so guilty that she decided to stay until Tamara recovered.
Hades was hoping for it to happen more than anyone to finally see Tamara open her eyes again.
He let out a loud sigh as he slowly walked towards where his lovely wife was. His heart was clenching so hard inside him, but he couldn’t just let her go.
Even if it took him forever, he wouldn’t let her go.
“Hi, baby. Are you okay there? Tell your mother to open her eyes now, she’s getting too much rest already.” He tried to smile as he said those words while gently holding Tamara’s huge baby bump and his other hand on her hand.
Yes.
There was still a lot of reason to fight.
Because Tamara was trying her best to fight her way home to him.
And their baby was trying so hard to fight for his life for them.
So, he must be strong despite how heavy his responsibility was and how painful it was for him to watch his loving wife and baby in that kind of situation.
Tamara had been in a comatose state for nearly eight months, and her due date was approaching, but she was still unresponsive.
Tamika, Kage, and Elder Zeparu were all trying their best to find a cure even Maria Flora couldn’t be of help in her condition.
The only thing that they were hoping for right now was a miracle especially that the baby inside her was alive. They were hoping that she could still wake up and for her to deliver safely.
His tears suddenly fell as he felt their baby move. He stifled his sobs because it always gave him hope.
“See, wife, our baby is so responsive and playful. So, wake up now, o-okay?” His voice croaked as he tried to wipe his tears away.
No matter how much he tried to be strong every single time he was facing Tamara and their baby, he couldn’t stop himself from being emotional… to be vulnerable.
“I-I’ll continue b-believing until you finally find y-your way back to us. I love you and our baby, w-wife. I love you so m-much.” He lovingly whispered as he held the both of them.
Hades let out a painful sigh as he swallowed the lump in his throat.
“I love you, baby.” He gently murmured as he planted a soft kiss on Tamara’s baby bump before he faced Tamara and planted a soft kiss on her lips.
“And I love you, wife. Please wake up soon. I miss you so much.” He tenderly whispered before he straightened his back.
He was about to hold the bedsheet and adjust it to cover her when his eyes widened as he saw Tamara’s fingers moving.
Hades was dumbfounded as his eyes flew towards Tamara’s face.
“A-And… I love y-you, too.” She lowly whispered slightly inaudible, but Hades felt like he had been resurrected to life.
“W-Wife…” He joyously mumbled under his breath before he held her hand and kissed her temple affectionately.
“Finally, you’re back…” He emotionally whispered as his tears fell endlessly from his eyes.
