Chapter 55
POV: King Hades Pierce
“Are you sure that they were still quiet about what happened?” He seriously stated as they went with the hunters to track their progress in finding out what the Darkwoods were doing right now.
They were in the depths of the woods where their secret hideout was and talking to the Mindsors was just leading them into nothing. And it was making him upset now. This was just too frustrating. He wanted to eradicate them now, once and for all. He knew he could.
In just a snap, he could do it with his bare hands, but he wanted to do it right. He needed to have proof. He needed to do that, for he was the King, and he needed to set an example for the people the packs that he was leading.
His parents taught them about their principles, but no matter how he tried to copy his father’s kindness he was failing miserably. He was ruthless and cruel. But he knew that there’s something inside him that was indulging him into doing this right.
And that was Tamara.
Yes.
He didn’t want her to see him in his most wicked self. Far more wicked than he was now.
“Yes, Your Majesty.” Lineus Mindsor politely replied.
King Hades tightened his jaw. He knew that something was up to their pack. He knew that they were doing everything to eradicate Tamara as well especially now that she was where she belonged to, the Luna Queen.
He wasn’t surprised, though. Since the moment, she stepped out of her safe zone, they were trying to kill her.
And he didn’t want it to happen again. But he wasn’t always at her side the reason why something always happened to her.
He gritted his teeth to stop himself from lashing out. His aura darkened as he felt his wolf snarling inside him. He composed himself even though it was truly hard for him to do so.
Since nothing happened to what they were investigating, he, might as well, would just go back to the palace. He wanted to spend more time with Tamara.
He bit his lower lip to stop himself from smiling and maintained a straight face.
King Hades stood up proudly and readied himself to go home when Arlan was running hastily towards him.
He raised his left brow, but he didn’t say a word. His face was laced with deep worry.
“Y-Your Majesty, we need to go back.” His breathing was heavy, and his eyes were too elusive towards him.
“Yeah.” He was unbothered as he told him, but Arlan just shook his head.
“I mean, we must go back there as fast as we can, My King.” His voice was just too pressing and too concerned making his forehead crease.
“T-The Lunar P-Pack…” He stammered, and then, he swallowed hard.
His lips pursed as he waited for him to say more.
“They have been i-infiltrated, Your Majesty. And the Q-Queen was on her w-way towards the p-pack. The a-attack was still on g-going and-” Arlan apprehensively informed him, but he didn’t let him finish anymore.
He ran in a meteoric way without transforming into his wolf form.
Right there and then, one person suddenly popped into his mind.
Tamara.
His stubborn queen.
“F*ck it!” He silently whispered as he felt his heart tighten inside him.
His hard-headed red head had attracted danger for her own good, huh?
He let out a loud curse once again and sped up more.

POV: Kage Esmeray
Everyone was in terror.
Carrying Tamara with her blood all over her body as well as on him was enough for them to conclude that she was in a critical condition.
He fell to the floor as Dreyson declared that they were done operating on Tamara, but she was still in critical condition.
It was one of the most mind-blowing experiences he’s ever had so far.
“Let’s go.” Dreyson coldly said before marching out of the room.
Kage let out a deep sigh as he followed his friend out.
“What the f*ck is that, Kage?!” He seriously spat.
Anger and worry lingered into his voice making him let out another deep sigh.
“S-She was shot because of me.” His melancholic voice was laced with regret and deep apprehension.
“What?” He unbelievably stated.
But before he could even say a word, Luna Rania and Alpha Lorenzo worriedly ran towards where they were.
They had minor bruises all over but after knowing what had happened to Tamara, they instantly walked towards her room.
“I was supposed to be the one they’d shoot. But Q-Queen Tamara pushed me.” He nervously explained.
It was just brief. He couldn’t explain his side thoroughly especially the way how serious the faces of the Vikesh were.
He swallowed hard as Luna Rania shot her with her menacing glare.
“Didn’t you catch the culprit, then?” She clenched her teeth as she said those words in between her teeth.
“Rania…” Alpha Lorenzo called her calming her.
Luna Rania firmly closed her eyes and held her forehead.
“I… I just couldn’t do this, Lorenzo. Shahara was…” She opened her eyes, and it was bloodshot.
“And now, it was Tamara.” She weakly shook her head, but her eyes remained intimidatingly livid.
“I won’t let this slide, Lorenzo. And you must do everything to know about what happened and make them pay.” Luna Rania’s tone was dangerous and enraged.
He exhaustedly bowed his head down for he knew he was somewhat partly at fault for what had happened to Tamara. He should be the one lying in that bed right now and not her.
“If this continues, I’ll talk to the King himself.” She clenched her jaw as she said those words and walked out.
Alpha Lorenzo heaved a deep sigh as he watched his Luna walked towards Tamara’s designated room.
He felt his guilt creeping into his bones.
“I… I’m very sorry, Alpha Lorenzo.” He regrettably stated, but the alpha just shook his head.
“It is not your fault, Kage. Tamara shouldn’t be here in the first place. And I believe even if it seemed that the arrow was supposed to be yours but I disagree. I know that it was really meant for Tamara.” He surely said before he let out a deep sigh.
“I know that Rania knew about it, but she was just a bit… emotional after everything that happened. This is a raucous situation for every one of us.” He seriously added making him stare directly at his eyes.
It mirrored the exhaustion and melancholy that he was feeling. Knowing that the Alpha of their pack was the firmest and calmest person, he had ever met, he couldn’t deny the fact that it was making him more guilty for every reason that he could think of.
He knew that he was at fault, and he would make sure to find whoever did this.

POV: Luna Rania
She could feel her body stifling her inner wolf for the rage that she was feeling. She was sure that the Darkwoods knew about what had happened to Tamara.
And Shahara…
She hadn’t moved on yet with the death of her first born, and now this? She harshly bit her lower lip causing it to bleed.
She was so mad that she woke up the entire night to be with Tamara.
Looking at her with so many machines beeping and monitoring her was making her heart tear apart. She was so painful and miserable for sending Tamara away from the pack with their two most trusted beta and hunter Winston and Ameia. But she knew that this was the reason why they decided that thing. And as the moon’s fate made her back to the pack, everything of this happened.
“But it was her destiny, Rania, and we couldn’t do anything about it. No matter how much we tried to hide her, she would always find her way back to where she truly belongs.” Lorenzo seriously stated as she told her doubts once.
She knew that it was the sole truth, but she was a mother who had a lot of shortcomings and flaws of being one. She was just starting to be a mother to Tamara, and this happened. Not to mentioned about Shahara’s death.
Rania was sure that her eyes were now bloodshot red, but her tears wouldn’t stop from falling. It was tears of pain, of regret, of sadness, of everything that she longed she could do.
She closed her eyes firmly as she tried to wipe away her tears. Her heightened rage was to the moon now. She had never felt this madness her entire life regarding Tamara far more outraged than the fact that Tamara almost died when she was young because of the Darkwoods.
But because of their power and connection, everyone that tried to speak up about what happened was all tortured and killed nothing happened, so they made sure that Tamara wouldn’t be back in the pack… again.
Then, they found her, and they were almost too late. She didn’t even recognize her at first sight.
She painfully closed her eyes.
No one was around the room because she knew that Lorenzo was still talking to Kage. And so, when the door opened, her eyes instantly moved towards it.
She pursed her lips together as she met Lamina’s eyes trying to act innocent with her stares and smiles.
Rania could feel her blood rise that instant her wolf becoming restless.
“Rania… I heard what happened.” She instantly said, but she just glared at her.
Her breathing became uneven, she knew that her wolf was at bay now.
“Uh, well, we are all here for you to know that we are supporting your pack. We will find the culprit and make sure-”
“Stop trying to be innocent, you stinky wrench!” She yelled with pure anger.
Lorenzo instantly went to her side trying to calm her, but it was too late. Kage and Dreyson were both worriedly staring at her with anger in their eyes as it moved towards Lamina, her family, and the other high ranked members of the other packs which she guessed as part of her alliance.
“I may not have seen what you did, but the Moon Goddess did! Hear that?! She could hear you! She had seen what you did! And you will pay for it! You will pay for everything that you did, you evil witch!” She heavily shouted with the veins in her neck already visible because of her sudden outburst.
“Luna R-Rania…” Elder Courdamus unbelievably called her name, but her furious eyes remained on Lamina who seemed to be stunned with her choice of words.
Who wouldn’t be shocked?
She was known for being a calm and sophisticated woman. Now, she was already losing her patience, especially her sanity.
“She knew what you were doing! And she would make you pay until you were buried and rotten under the ground with no one else but yourself! No one would ever recognize your name, your title, your power, your clan! No one would ever remember you, you wicked b*tch! No one! No one! And that’s your curse, Lamina! That would be your greatest downfall! Mark my words! You monster!” She was so furious, and she just felt her body shaking with the outburst that she did.
With that, she had finally lost her control, and before her wolf would even take over her, her mind went blank, and she didn’t know what happened next.
All that she saw before her consciousness left her was Lamina’s shaken face as well as her alliances’ worried and shocked faces.
