Chapter 35
POV: Tamara Davis
She was already healed, and kicking with strength, yet Shahara was so determined in guarding her like a mother to her child. She wanted to put her palm in front of her face and shook her head at the mere thought of it.
And she wouldn’t want her to wander around and preferred for her to rest in the meantime. Even though she had already told her that she was already fine, she wouldn’t budge.
She couldn’t believe this was happening to her.
Maybe, she was just so worried about what happened to her, but this boredom was already killing her. Staying for another minute in her room might have suffocate her to death, and of course that was such an exaggeration on her part almost but not quite enough to stick her butt into it for a matter of minute more.
She was already done reading a lot of books from the library courtesy of Shahara, herself and she was already on the edge of madness if not for it. But still the thrill of being kissed by the sun made her ecstatic. She just wanted to go out! And no one was stopping her from doing so!
Which left her with no other choice but to sneak out of her room when she heard from the maid that Shahara’s parents were asking for her to go to the study room. A well-contemplated plan succeeded as she pretended to be asleep so they could loosen up their guard on her.
And she was right!
Finally! Freedom at its finest!
She giggled at the mere thought of Shahara turning bright red… again.
Well, she left a note anyway. And for sure, she might have been very mad again at least her worry that something bad had happened to her would lessen.
Surely, Shahara was so protective of her, which made her heart full of warmth and pure joy. It was as if they were really becoming sisters… by heart and soul. She had never felt such a connection to anyone besides her parents. She was really blessed to have her by her side. It was making everything a little bearable.
She decided to take her for a walk, but because of her drifting thoughts she didn’t notice that she was already in the middle of the woods.
Tamara was about to walk back when she heard a loud splashing of water, hence she decided to follow the sound. She was agape when she saw the magnificent falls uncovered in front of her very eyes.
Something was so familiar about it and made her brows furrowed. She didn’t know what was quite odd about it… it was something that she was missing.
But her mind was concentrated on the water, which was so inviting. She was thrilled to take a short dip. Good thing that she had her red satin dress under his long furry coat.
The sun was almost set by now. It was a perfect timing her skin wouldn’t burned by the sun.
She excitedly tried to test the water with her left foot dipping in the water. A sweet and exhilarating smile appeared on her lips.
The water was clear and refreshing. It was almost fifteen minutes that she was swimming in the falls. Her eyes went to the clear sky painted with various orange-shade hues as she floated through the water.
The solemn atmosphere lifted her worries up and fears away. This was indeed amazing. She didn’t even know that this place actually existed.
Then, a particular face of a man suddenly appeared in her thoughts. The concern written in his eyes made her heart jump with both astonishment and thrill.
King Hades Pierce the king of all wolf borne who possessed the qualities of a ruthless and menacing ruler.
The king who never faltered to make her heart pound so hard and fast. The king who always took her breath away. The king that she secretly adored from afar.
He was one of the reasons why she endured being in the competition and getting to this far.
Tamara let out a deep sigh as she tried to swim back to the shallow part because she had already decided to go home. She had already taken her time to stay in there and Shahara was certainly worried too much by now.
She knew that even though she already left a note for her not to worry she would surely still do.
But then, she suddenly took an abrupt stop when she felt like someone had been watching her.
Her heart started to beat at a faster pace because of the possibility that she might be caught by some rogue again.
Well, she didn’t think more of it because she felt at ease knowing that she’s safe around the vast area. A lot of sentinel wolves were around the western side anyway.
But for the record, she might take a deeper precautionary measure about it. She wanted to blame herself for being too impulsive again as well as for letting her guard down.
She let out a deep sigh before she looked around only to be stunned by the mere sight of the King himself!
Their gaze locked, and she felt like her mind had turned haywire.
He was standing a few meters away from her, but the intense scent that was attacking her nostrils was making her heartbeat so fast and hard.
Her mouth slightly went ajar so she could breathe some air which she didn’t even think that she was already holding it for the time being.
Being shocked was an understatement.
More of her entire world started to tremble in both nervousness… and excitement.
King Hades deeply cleared his throat, making her flinched and almost lost her balance. But he was certainly fast, because in a millisecond he was already wrapping his arm around her waist.
Tamara’s eyes widened in shock with her mouth slightly agape because of how close they were. She could smell his mint sexy scent that was making her heart flutter inside her.
The electrifying sensation crept within him like wildfire, and her toes curled involuntarily.
It was indeed one of her fantasies that had come to life.
But her heart broke when he instantly let her go like she had some sort of contagious disease.
“Don’t wander around here. Go back to the pack mansion.” His voice was gruff, deep, and intense.
And without any more words he turned his back from her leaving her with her most shocked expression.
“Uh… wait…” Tamara’s voice was soft and soothing that it made him stop walking away, but he didn’t look back.
“T-Thank you…” She hesitatingly stated with a hint of edginess and gratitude in her voice.
King Hades continued in his tracks like he hadn’t heard her say those words.
She sat on the huge rock beside her for her strength was slowly faltering from her.
Tamara held her chest as she felt the fast beating of her heart and bit her lower lip to stifle the scream that wanted to escape from her mouth.
King Hades effect on her was to the moon, and that she didn’t even know how long she had been sitting there well, too long enough for her clothes to dry up and for the sun to finally set.
“Oh, my goodness, Tamara!” Shahara’s loud voice had woken her sense up.
She didn’t even notice that she was already in front of the Lunar Pack Mansion.
“Where have you been!?” She worriedly asked.
Tamara bit her lower lip and her cheeks suddenly blushed when she thought about what had happened to her and her sudden encounter with the king.
“Uh, I find a w-waterfall near here and I am t-tempted to swim.” She tried to act cool, and she looked away.
She didn’t even see Shahara’s shocked expression.
“Anyway, I didn’t know that there’s a waterfall nearby.” She curiously commented, dropping her gaze towards Shahara, who was still shocked by what she had told her.
“Are you okay?” She worriedly inquired.
“H-Huh?” Shahara bit her lower lip as she stared at her with her disoriented eyes.
“What’s wrong? Are you okay?” She repeatedly asked.
“Uh, y-yeah.” Shahara hesitatingly replied.
Then, her forehead creased but her eyes instantly dropped on her slightly wet dress. Concern immediately washed away her interrogation and bewildered expression.
“Fine, I’m gonna talk to you more later. Go ahead and get change. I didn’t want you to catch colds now. We’ll be having our dinner soon.” Shahara suddenly told her.
Regardless of how curious she was, of what happened to her, or how bizarre she thought she also was for her sudden actions they had no other choice but to let her go for it for the mean time.
But knowing Shahara, she wouldn’t let this night pass without interrogating her later after dinner.
She slightly shook her head as she headed towards her room.
It would indeed be a very long night.

POV: Shahara Vikesh
The moment she learned that Tamara was not in her room, she had already asked the sentinel wolves to find her. Although she left her a note, she couldn’t still find in herself the uneasiness she was feeling.
Of course!
The final round of the competition was already decided to be held two days from now.
She didn’t want anything bad to happen to Tamara. She remembered how strict her parents were as they told her that they had a hunched, that the Darkwoods had sabotaged the Mindsors.
But they couldn’t just jump into conclusions without further investigation of what really happened.
Besides, the Darkwoods were more cunning, and they didn’t leave anything behind not even a single clue which was making it all hard for all of them.
It wasn’t surprising anyway.
The Darkwoods would do everything just to get what they wanted even if it meant ending the lives of those who were in their way.
But the moment she learned that Tamara had gone into the woods and found out about the waterfall nearby, she didn’t know what to say or what to do.
Surely, based on the way she acted; something was bugging her mind. And she needed to find out what it was.
She needed to know whether or not she had remembered something.
For the waterfall might have triggered something in her…
Something that was so significant to her… from the past.
And when it unfolded…
Shahara sighed.
She didn’t know if how Tamara would react. She was just hoping for the best, though.
