Chapter 34
POV: King Hades Pierce
“What happened to the traitors?” His voice was deep and menacing as he asked his second in command standing in front of him.
Arlan swallowed hard.
Surely, the king seemed so calm while his eyes were glued towards the huge glass window, while his face was rested on the back of his hand, in which his elbow was placed firmly on the arm rest of his golden chair.
But his dark aura was saying otherwise. It was screaming of massive danger that was making him tremble with a bit of fear, too.
“They were already being stripped off their t-titles by now, My King.” Arlan politely replied distress was slightly visible in his voice.
“But they are pleading to just move out of the pack. Alpha Lineus claimed that he couldn’t live with dignity now. With that, he is asking for your grace, My King.” He seriously added.
The king’s brow shot upwards as an ominous smirk appeared on his lips. His dark aura darkened more because of his threatening vain expression.
“Grant it to them, then.” King Hades sardonically ordered making Arlan’s mouth slightly agape because of shock.
He must’ve been very mad right now for doing this thing to the poor wolves.
King Hades let out a sarcastic chuckle by looking at his mere shocked expression through his peripheral vision making Arlan’s eyes widened more.
“Let’s see how long they’ll last.” He lowly whispered without any trace of mercy.
Arlan gasped at his ruthless remarks.
“B-But My King, if they’ll be out of the pack… then, t-that means…” Arlan worriedly stated then, slightly bit his lower lip and let out an inaudible sigh before staring at the King who never changed his position.
“They’ll be exiled in the South, and if that happens-” Arlan abruptly stopped as his eyes widened in terror upon realizing whatever the king was planning now.
King Hades gave him a death glare that made his legs tremble in horror.
“Shut your mouth, Arlan, and leave in peace. I already told you to grant their request, right? Just do it.” He pressingly commanded using his intimidating voice.
“Y-Yes, Your Majesty.” Arlan instantly replied and bowed his head before finally walking out of the room.
“You are sure about this?” A deep voice that resonated beside him suddenly asks as he stepped out of the darkness a few minutes after the door to the throne room closed.
“Why? Are you scared out of your wits now, Raven?” He sardonically retorted back making his brother clench his jaw in pure annoyance.
He mockingly smirked.
“You needed more proof, right? Might as well, used them as pawns.” King Hades ruthlessly stated.
“Let’s get going, then.” Prince Raven couldn’t say ‘no,’ so he just made his way to their secret passage out of the castle that was connected to the woods.
The king didn’t need to exert much effort and time, for in just a few minutes, he had already reached the end of the hidden passage.
They secretly turned into their wolf form and ran in a meteoric speed. No one had seen them running into that part of the woods for it was the most dangerous zone under his territory. No one ever dared to enter that road towards the South…
Well, no one, except for the two stubborn red heads that he knew.
He almost growled as he was reminded of what had happened, then.
They abruptly stopped their tracks as they reached a small old bungalow house hidden behind the huge trees and thick bushes. They went into a room and turned into their human form to wear their clothes.
“They’re almost here.” Prince Raven lowly commented as they heard a loud beating of hearts that only meant that someone was already nearing them.
He could give it to them, they were surely fast. The two brothers moved slowly outside the bungalow house and expertly walked with no amount of noise that would be heard.
“Show yourselves…” Price Raven coldly stated as he stood in the open vast area while he remained hiding in the thick bushes.
“Good evening, Prince Raven.” A low voice of man politely resonated as he slowly went out of the huge tree on their left side.
“Call you daughter, too. I know she was hiding on that tree a few meters away from you.” Prince Raven boringly commanded.
Lindy Mindsor slowly went out of the tree and moved towards his father with her head bowed down.
“I still couldn’t believe that the Alpha of the Midnight Pack well-known for being fair and dignified wolves would resort to these kinds of things.” Prince Raven seriously commented.
Former Alpha Lineus Mindsor, the former Alpha of the said pack instantly bended his knees to the ground. He was shaking with undeniable fear at the man standing in front of them wearing an unreadable expression.
“I know I have done wrong, My Prince, but please spare my daughter.” He pleadingly asked.
“But on the other hand, did you really do it?” Prince Raven sardonically inquired.
The two went agape just by looking at his virtuoso brother.
“Then, can you please spare us, now.” Alpha Lineus lowly begged.
“I apologize, but your lives weren’t on me to decide.” Prince Raven apologetically replied making Alpha Lineus’ eyes widened in fear, especially when he let his presence be felt by them.
They gasped in shock and terror.
Even Lindy bended her knees to the ground. Her eyes turned soft and guilty all of a sudden.
He took a step out of the bushes and walked towards them with his darkened aura and stoic smug expression.
King Hades could smell their fear doubled and could hear the fast beating of their hearts.
He let out an ominous smirk.
“Listen carefully, for I will only say this once. I am not going to protect you anymore. This is your own battle to make. But if you want your title back, as well as the dignity that you’ve been taking care of, I will need you to do me one thing… and you should both do it discreetly.” He menacingly said.
“W-We will do anything, My King, for you to a-accept us a-again.” Alpha Lineus frighteningly stated.
“Well, then, find out who was behind that drug that had framed you up. That’s all that I’m ordering you.” His deep voice was low but sharp.
It wasn’t the first time they had seen the king at this distance but his aura was overwhelming them, and it was too much for them to bear. They couldn’t even raise their heads from bowing down.
“And I am only giving you at least a month… if not…” He let out another darkened ominous grin making them shiver down their spines.
“I’ll surely give you the most painful death you’ll ever experience. With me hunting you down.” He threateningly stated before turning his back on them.
He clenched his jaw before walking away. He needed more time, but this was all getting out of hand. He needed to make his plans be executed now… and fast. He surely wouldn’t wait for something bad to happen not especially to her.
With his drifting thoughts, he didn’t even notice that he was already in the middle of the woods of the Western Side.
The stunningly beautiful waterfalls created a rainbow above it under the almost set sun exposed in front of his sight.
Some memories suddenly flashed on his mind, but he instantly tried to expunge it away.
He, then, heard the splashing sound of the water and that familiar scent suddenly attacked his nose. He swallowed hard as he saw the gorgeous woman with her burgundy wet hair matching her red satin dress perfectly hugging her every curve.
She was like a goddess decided to grace her splendid presence in this land.
A scorching hot feeling suddenly crept into his every vein, and he clenched his jaw as well as his both fists to control his raging wolf.
But he almost lost all of his control the moment their eyes met.
Those soulful dark brown almond-shaped eyes never seized to make his insides churn more. He heard her gasp and be stunned as she tried to cover herself with her arms.
“H-Hades…” Tamara’s low voice was like a feather floating in the wind, but it reached his ears.
Yes.
It was Tamara Davis the stubborn red head that was like a cat caught in the act of trespassing who was now calling him by his name. His name rolled into her tongue with faintness and softness at the same time.
He pursed his lips together as he fought the urge to bite his lower lip and closed his eyes to feel her delicate soft voice. He surely knew that he needed to maintain his stoic unreadable expression but having her near him like this was making it so hard for him.
King Hades deeply cleared his throat, making Tamara flinched and almost lose her balance. But he was certainly fast, because in a millisecond he was already wrapping his arm around her waist.
Tamara’s eyes widened in shock with her mouth slightly agape.
They were surely so close that he could smell her sweet fruity smell making his senses heightened in undeniable attraction and desire. He gulped hard as he was trying to collect his thoughts.
The fast beating of their hearts suddenly merged together as one. The electrifying sensation crept within him like wildfire ignoring the refreshing cold water from the falls.
He instantly let her go. He didn’t want to sink down under her gaze for the longer he stared at those dark brown orbs, the deeper he was undeniably lost. How much more that he took a swift glance at those luscious pink lips.
King Hades mentally shook his head for he didn’t want to think of the sudden thoughts that were rushing through his mind.
“Don’t wander around here. Go back to the pack mansion.” His voice was gruff, deep, and intense.
And without any more words he turned his back from her leaving her with her most shocked expression.
“Uh… wait…” Tamara’s voice was soft and soothing that it made him stop walking away, but he didn’t look back.
“Uhmm, t-thank you…” She hesitatingly stated with a hint of edginess and gratitude in her voice.
King Hades continued in his tracks like he hadn’t heard her say those words.
But unconsciously, a small genuine smile suddenly escaped from his lips.
