Chapter 30
POV: Luna Lamina
She was smiling while sipping her apple juice with mint. They were having their sumptuous dinner while they were waiting for Elder Courdamus from his meeting with the King and the Were Elders’ Council.
Lamina was certainly ecstatic about their plans for the competition for she asked the members of the Were Elders’ Council under their alliance to propose the continuation of the competition for the next Regina.
She was surely not gonna waste their moon-given opportunity now. Her smile grew bigger at that thought. All was falling according to plan now and she was loving every bit of it. She placed back her glass on the table before she glanced at her daughter, who shared the same look as her.
“Leah…” She called her.
But she got everyone’s attention inside the room. Well, she didn’t bother to look at them, anyway. She was more indulgent with Leah right now.
“I want you to brace yourself together and bring home the bacon. We already set everything up for you and all you have to do is play your part. This time, don’t waste your chance.” She told her with a hint of warning in her voice.
Her brow twitched as she looked at her.
“Yes, Mother.” Leah answered full of conviction in her voice.
A loud knock on the door interrupted them, and Cessair asked whoever it was to come in.
Merelos, the newly appointed Beta of their pack, entered the room and bowed his head down before straightening his back.
“I’m sorry to interrupt your dinner, our dearest Alpha Cessair and Luna Lamina, Sir Aeron and Miss Leah, but Elder Courdamus was now waiting in the study room.” He politely informed them.
“Why didn’t you ask him to come here and join us with the feast instead?” Her husband plainly ordered.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Cessair, but the elder insisted on talking about it in the study room instead. Besides, he had said that he had already lost his appetite, and he wanted to convey about the discussion that they had during their meeting. He requested that it was kind of urgent.” His voice was passive and a hint of fear for being designated as the second in command of the leading pack of the East was a huge responsibility.
It wasn’t a secret to their pack about what happened to Gorgo, the one that he had replaced, and he didn’t want to end up like him.
Lamina raised her brow as she immediately finished her meal and gently wiped her mouth with the table napkin before standing up. She just wanted to know what the heck happened at the meeting. She would certainly plan everything, and it was smooth sailing.
What the heck happened now? She mentally thought.
The Darkwoods instantly went to the study room of the mansion. They were all agitated and curious about the news that the elder had.
They saw Elder Courdamus standing at the huge glass window in the study room. It was quietly odd to look at him without his tobacco and not polluting the air inside the room with its smoke.
“Elder Courdamus, you were finally here.” Lamina greeted him smilingly.
The elder looked so surprised as if he had been woken up with a sweet dream. But his face said otherwise.
Maybe, not a sweet dream, but a nightmare, Lamina thought.
“So, how was your meeting with the king?” She couldn’t hide the curiosity anymore, but her smile never faltered from her lips.
Elder Courdamus let out a deep heavy sigh and shook his head before taking the armchair near him. Lamina’s brows furrowed because she hated waiting. She impatiently scoffed at him.
“It started well…” He simply stated making her smile more.
But her smile faded for the next thing that he had just said.
“But it ended up being terrible. Our plan backfired and the king was really a tough one to manipulate.” The elder finally told them with his gritting teeth.
“What do you mean by backfired? Our plan was solid proof…” Cessair interjected with their conversation, for she couldn’t gather the right words to say anymore.
Her blood was boiling up now and she knew her wolf was already at bay.
“Well, the king declared an order that there might be sabotage going on with the Lunar Pack representative. He was really an intelligent one like his brother. He loved to manipulate words so that even I couldn’t contradict his thoughts. Most especially now that he already gave an order not to continue the competition until they didn’t have caught the culprit that had sabotaged the Lunar Pack.” Elder Courdamus annoyingly stated.
Lamina, with her most vicious yet stoic look, let out a sarcastic and evil laugh by hearing what the elder had said. She was still pissed, alright. But not all of their cards weren’t revealed yet, they still have the upper hand.
“Don’t you think, we aren’t having another card with us, Elder Courdamus?” She menacingly asked making Aeron and Leah swallow hard just by hearing their mother’s words.
“Do you think that Tamara would end up until midnight today?” She mischievously inquired as a sarcastic smile escaped from her lips.
The Were Elder’s eyes bulged as he realized what she was talking about.
“D-Do you m-mean…” He stammered as his question wasn’t stated entirely and just stared at her.
She laughed evilly as she playfully clapped her hands.
“Bingo! Tamara and well, maybe, even that Shahara girl wouldn’t even last at midnight.” She finally declared as she crossed her legs and intertwined her fingers before placing it on top of her knee.
Elder Courdamus let out a hearty joyous chuckle.
“I couldn’t believe you could be as tricky as this one, huh?” The old man commented, making her smirk.
“Then, this calls for a celebration.” Leah stated as she asked for a champagne from the servant omega waiting outside the room.
But before the maidservant could even step out of the picture, Merelos who was sweating bullets because of running towards the study room, almost bumped into the poor omega. He was panting as he went to them. His face was laced with bother and worry.
“What’s with the face, Merelos? Do you need anything?” Lamina seriously asked but the evilness in her smile was still painted on her face.
Merelos swallowed hard as he couldn’t say what he had just heard from the sentinel and informant wolves or the ones that had been watching the other packs.
“Speak up, Merelos, we don’t have the whole day.” Cessair boringly stated making the poor Merelos tremble in fear.
“Uh… T-The…” He stuttered.
He let out a heavy sigh and cleared his throat before he continued in breaking the news hoping that his head was still intact with his body after saying it.
“The r-representative of the L-Lunar Pack, t-together with their h-heiress…” He shakingly uttered.
Lamina anticipated that it was already what she had been planning for.
“Oh, come on, Merelos. You don’t have to be so nervous about breaking the news that they were already dead. We are looking forward to it, anyway.” She mockingly stated as she asked the omega to serve the champagne which she instantly obliged.
Merelos, on the other hand, shuddered more.
“That… That wasn’t the c-case, Luna Lamina…” He shakingly told them making everyone in the room shoot him with a questioning look.
“The r-representative and the -heiress of the L-Lunar Pack was now a-awakened, Luna Lamina. And they were n-now declared to be o-out of d-danger.” Merelos finally declared making everyone in the room stunned by his breaking news.

POV: Prince Raven Pierce
Tamara and Shahara were finally awake, and he was just so thankful to the moon for it. But Shahara was so cold towards him that she insisted on being alone than seeing his face.
He was so worried at her, but he knew that it was his fault.
Prince Raven harshly raked his hair with both hands as he sat on the edge of his bed. His emotions were so mixed up that his wolf was at bay now. He needed to control it, for he didn’t want to be like his brother creating a bloodbath on the South Side.
He gritted his teeth.
“Could you step out of the darkness. I swear, I wasn’t in the mood now.” He seriously stated.
The golden crown illuminated under the light of the chandelier. King Hades stepped out of the shadows from his dresser.
“My, my, you are so cranky, huh? Let me guess, your pretty little red head was now acting so hurt, eh?” He playfully stated making him growl in pure annoyance.
His cool was now slowly leaving him, and he didn’t like any bit of it.
“Good thing that they were out of danger now, Raven. Or I will surely rip your head off with my bare hands. Now, start digging your grave. I needed you to do your part now because my ears were now at its limit just by hearing Arlan’s commentaries and the idiotic greedy Were Elders’ Council proposals. Get your *ss off now, and I mean it.” King Hades viciously warned him before casually walking towards the door.
“I am just quite curious about whoever that black hooded guy was.” Prince Raven slowly whispered, but the king stopped his tracks, but his body remained standing towards the closed door.
“Interesting. Very well, then, I am, too.” King Hades replied as he proceeded to march out of his room leaving him with too many questions inside his head.

POV: Someone
“Stop meddling with them, you’re just getting yourself killed.” A cold girly voice resonated inside a small barn under a gigantic tree.
“You don’t understand. What I have granted is just the moon’s luck.” She patiently answered.
“Whatever it was. I am telling you to stop what you’re doing. I know how powerful your gift was, but you aren’t immortal. Just drop it, okay?” The lady sitting on the messy old sofa, icily said.
She just heaved a deep sigh.
“It was already written. I couldn’t just leave it as it is.” She gently answered.
“Whatever. I will be needing to go back so make sure I will still see you next time I’ll visit.” The lady with a cold voice told her.
And she just nodded.
She didn’t know what to say. Well, she couldn’t foresee her own future anyway. She blankly stared at the overall black hood hanging just beside her broken old dresser, and she let out a deep sigh for the nth time.
