Chapter 31
POV: Tamara Davis
It’s been days since she finally woken up. She couldn’t believe that she had already faced a life and death situation for the nth time.
Every time that thought occurred in her mind; she couldn’t help herself but to feel uneasy that it sent shivers down her spine.
But she was indeed had the moon’s luck to be blessed with another chance of life.
Tamara heaved a deep sounding sigh as she stared at the chilly, windy day. The hushing wind that was gently cooling her cheeks from the window of her room was totally soothing to her. She closed her eyes as she felt the frosty sensation it brought mixing with the serenity of the room.
“So, how are you feeling now?” Kage enthusiastically asked the moment he entered her room.
Tamara instantly opened her eyes and stared at Kage who was basically ruining the tranquil momentum.
But instead of being annoyed, she couldn’t help herself but smile at him.
It was deja vu, if she might add. The moment when she first went to the infirmary. The huge difference this time was that they were already really close friends.
She mentally shook her head.
“I’m good. Well, except for my leg.” She pointed to her casted leg using her pouted lips.
“Other than that, I’m fine.” Tamara cheekily added.
She didn’t want to cause anxiety and worry them again.
Aunt Rania even cried in front of her, the moment she opened her eyes. She heard she even had collapsed when she heard the horrible news about what happened to her and Shahara. She was indeed guilty for everything, though they had already told her that it wasn’t her fault.
Shahara visited her yesterday. Her wound was fast healing, but something had changed for her. She just couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
Tamara just shrugged it all off. She didn’t want to be stressed. Besides, she needed to gather all her strength to finally heal.
“Well, I could see that. It was great news, though.” Kage enthusiastically stated.
“By the way, have you caught who was that guy in the black hood. He might be the reason why Shahara and I are still here, alive and kicking.” She keenly asked.
Shahara had already told her that because Doc Dreyson had told her, too. She just wanted to thank him personally. If it wasn’t for him, they might be dead meat right now.
But she saw how Kage’s smile faded, and he pouted that she couldn’t help but raise her left brow with mixed amusement and curiosity.
“I don’t know who it was. We couldn’t figure out what the heck happened to them. It was surely a moon’s luck that someone had help. But then, we shouldn’t give our trust that easily. He might be someone that can be an enemy pretending to be a savior.” Kage shrugged as he said those words.
But Tamara wasn’t convinced, though she didn’t voice it out because Kage might have felt offended. She believed that whoever had helped them, he meant well for her and Shahara. She just so wanted to thank him personally whoever it was.
“Good thing, that your leg was healing fast. You just need a lot of rest and I’ll continue giving you herbals to drink and to be attached to your cast.” He patiently explained as he was checking on her injured leg.
“That was great news. Thank you.” She appreciatively commented.
“Anyway, I don’t want to blow your confidence this time and even your fast recovery, but I know you need to know this at least.” Kage told her after a while.
He was now more serious than usual making her brows furrowed in so much interest with a mixed amount of anxiety, too.
Tamara didn’t even bother to speak. She was waiting for Kage to tell her what it was this time.
“The competition for the next round will be happening two days from now. That only means that you have to stay focused and rest well. We are hoping that your inner healing might help you cope up with your recovery faster than an average wolf, just like what we are hoping it to be.” Kage’s voice was laced with worry.
She was left speechless.
“But you don’t have to continue it, Tamara.” Kage said with both concern and frustration.
Tamara gave him a gentle understanding smile. She wasn’t born a quitter and she had her goals in life.
This wasn’t making her fall. This was just an obstacle to being strong and she would not give up not at this point in time.
She gently shook her head.
“This is a chance given to me by the moon, Kage. I have my goals. I want justice for my parents. I didn’t want to give up now that it was already closer than I thought. I know whoever caused this to me and to Shahara, they all wanted me to quit. And I won’t give them that satisfaction. I will surely win, so don’t worry. I’ve got it. I’m strong as a mad bull now.” She bouncily said.
Kage raised his left brow mocking her.
“Really, huh?” He playfully commented, but his eyes glistened with proudness and bliss.
“Yep. So, just stay still. I’ve got you.” Tamara cheekily said and winked at him.
With that, they both share a hearty laugh.
True to her words, that was all she wanted right now.
Everything might be okay because she managed to keep everything to herself for the mean time. But she would not forget the words from that woman in the woods that had caused her these mockingly said.
~ “I wanted to tear you into tiny little pieces until you would be distorted right now, but let’s do it in a slow manner, yeah?” ~
~ “What a waste.” ~
~ “You didn’t have any right to be my enemy. You were such a trying hard kind of a woman who just desired to be like us, but in the end you were not worth it to be my competitor.” ~
~ “Too bad you were not going to continue being one of the candidates now. You weren’t fit to be the next Queen, though.” ~
~ “I think I need to do this now. Goodbye, Tamara Davis.” ~
That was everything she had remembered before she was engulfed with immense pain and by the darkness itself.
Tamara clenched her jaw as she tried to compose her raging inner wolf.
She wouldn’t let the one who had done this escape away. She would make sure to make her pay.
Well, whoever it was, she was surely a blonde woman. And she didn’t want to pinpoint anyone, but she had this tiny little clue of whoever it was.
Maybe, it wasn’t the time now, but she would surely have made sure that she would pay so much bigger that she had caused her.
Time flies fast and she wasn’t healed yet.
Unfortunately, the competition would resume whether she was healed or not.
Someone from the South Side was caught by the King’s sentinel wolves bragging about what their pack had done to the heiress of their pack as well as to her.
That resulted in a case being closed for their pack. But she couldn’t believe it. She had her own hunched over. The scent of the woman who had injected her with something was quite familiar. She just needed to confirm it.
And in order to do that, she should act as if she didn’t know about it.
Shahara, too, wasn’t convinced about it because no one knew how to use a bow and an arrow. But they just kept their silence for the mean time.
Strike when the time is right.
That was one of the things that her father, Winston, had told her.
It required great timing to lead the enemy to corner them where they had nowhere to go.

POV: King Hades Pierce
“What do you think you’re doing?” His deep loud menacing voice resonated throughout the entire study room where Prince Raven was resting.
Prince Raven was sitting on his newly acquired, turquoise-colored classic chaise sofa reading, then his eyes moved towards his furious brother with an unbothered expression.
“What?” He boredly asked.
That made him madder. His dark aura intensified until he reached Prince Raven, but the latter just shrugged it all off.
“What are you trying to do now? You know that she just came from a terrible situation and was still getting healed. A battle of strength, huh? Why would you choose this theme?” He clenched his jaw and balled his fists.
He was trying to stifle his outburst for he was still mad at those tricky wolves who acted as if they were the ones who did something to the two red heads from the Lunar Pack.
“I need to be fair in this competition, my dearest brother. If you can’t swallow it, why not use your power, then? This is my job, isn’t it?” Prince Raven coldly said.
King Hades curled his lips up to impose his unadulterated mockery.
“Very well, then. Do your job accordingly. If not, I will ruin your pretty little red head, thrice as much as what you are doing right now.” King Hades mischievously stated his face still remained with a dangerous aura.
Prince Raven clenched his hands holding his book that was placed on his lap. He turned around and let out a smirk.
“By the way. I sniffed a bloodlust from the dungeon. The wolves who claimed as the traitors from the South are still breathing. You know what to do.” He seriously added.
“I won’t lay a hand on them. They aren’t enemies.” Prince Raven icily commented.
“But they are covering this up to continue the competition. They’re blocking your way towards your red head.” He playfully told him before he looked back to where his brother was.
“By the way, I heard that their doctor was with her… again.” He chuckled without any humor.
“You’re not that threatened, huh?” King Hades added, before finally leaving the stunned Prince Raven.
“Oh, yeah? You also haven’t, huh?” His brother remarked before he even closed the door.
He stopped in his tracks for a short moment and continued storming out of the room. His lips pursed for he wanted to torture that so-called brilliant apprentice salutary wolf whoever he was.
Well, at the right time.
His wolf was at bay now and wanted to take over his entire being.
