At this moment, Memphis was in tears, his withered old face resembling the bark of a gnarled tree. Tears streamed down the deep crevices of his face, making him look decades older in an instant.
“Dad, what are you doing? Get up, please!”
“Grandpa, please get up!”
A chorus of urgent calls erupted throughout the John residence.
No one expected the proud head of the John family, Memphis John, to kneel before a young man, especially in front of his own juniors. Besides those juniors, there was also Eugene, an outsider, present.
Memphis had always been a proud man, used to seeing others kneel before him in submission. He had never knelt to anyone. Yet here he was, bowing before a young man in his twenties, a scene that left everyone present in shock.
However, Kayden found nothing strange about it. He maintained his calm demeanor; after all, many had knelt before him. If this were ancient times, someone of Memphis’s stature would have been compelled to kneel and greet him immediately.
He was the War God of Seclela, guarding the borders of the land, akin to a general commanding a region on the ancient battlefield.
Memphis was, at most, a wealthy merchant, a businessman! He couldn’t be compared to Kayden. The gap between them was immense, and thus, Kayden felt neither surprise nor shock. Memphis’s recent transgressions could not be absolved by mere kneeling.
“Grandpa, please get up! What are you doing?” Daphne was on the verge of tears.
Kneeling on the ground, Memphis raised his hand to silence his family, his eyes brimming with tears as he looked at Kayden. “Sir, I kneel not for any other reason but for my ailing son. Today, I am not afraid of what my children may think. In truth, my ailing son Zion is not my biological son.”
The revelation stunned those standing behind Memphis, their eyes wide in disbelief. What was he saying? Could anyone cheat on Memphis?
His position was such that it seemed impossible for someone to cheat on him. It was absolutely inconceivable!
“Grandpa, what nonsense are you talking? My dad isn’t your biological son?” Daphne was frantic, questioning her own hearing, as the sick person was her father, Zion John.
Memphis continued, “Zion is my elder brother’s son. By rights, the John family should have been inherited by my brother. Back then, there were only my brother and me in the John family. His talents and ability to handle affairs surpassed mine. He was the most outstanding member of the family, and it was thanks to him that the John family remained stable. I must admit, I was quite jealous of my brother. He overshadowed all my glory.”
“One day, I could no longer contain my frustration and complained to my brother, expressing my dissatisfaction.”
“Unexpectedly, one day, my brother left, leaving behind only a letter. He asked me to take good care of his son, to raise him as my own. From that day forward, I never saw my brother again, but I gained another son.”
“I know it was because of my brother that he left, and I’ve lived with that guilt ever since. The only solace I found was in watching my brother’s son grow up, repaying my debt through him. This is why I have always favored Zion.”
“But, what I didn’t expect was that just as I was preparing to pass my position to him, this unfortunate event occurred. If anything happens to Zion, I will never forgive myself in this life. Even in death, I could not face my missing brother. Sir, I beg you to help my brother’s son. Please!”
With that, Memphis buried his head, almost hitting the ground.
His words struck a chord with everyone present, and Memphis’s great benevolence touched his juniors!
Eugene, standing to the side, was also moved by this genuine human emotion. He looked at Kayden and said, “Kid, I was arrogant earlier and didn’t recognize your abilities. I hope you won’t be upset. I apologize to you.”
Eugene bowed deeply, adopting a respectful posture.
The big shot in Seclela’s medical community, Eugene, actually apologized to a man in his twenties, which took everyone by surprise.
However, Eugene was undeterred and continued, “Kid, our traditional medicine in Seclela is vital for the nation, having been passed down for over five thousand years. I was wrong to underestimate you! Now, I hope you can heal Mr. Zion John. He has traveled the world seeking treatment, but no one has been able to cure him. Ultimately, he returned to Seclela, waiting for a miracle. Eugene’s excitement grew as he spoke, nearly jumping with enthusiasm.
However, Kayden’s expression darkened, and he coldly replied, “I told you, the John family has no chance left! I have already given you two opportunities, and that is my mercy. I was asked to come to the John family by a friend. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have set foot here at all. If it weren’t for my friend, I would have already wiped out the John family!”

When Coleman spoke to Memphis, he did indeed refer to Kayden as a divine doctor, advising him to treat Kayden as a distinguished guest due to his noble status.
To have someone as esteemed as Coleman mention Kayden indicated that he indeed held a remarkable position. Kayden’s plain attire did not hide the imposing aura in his eyes-a presence strong enough to crush everything in its path.
Yet, this very demeanor irked Memphis. Having been powerful for too long, he hadn’t encountered such an attitude in ages, leading him to feel that Kayden was somewhat arrogant.
Now, it appeared Memphis had been mistaken in judging someone by appearances; he had inadvertently offended this divine doctor!
As expected, as Memphis had guessed, Kayden answered coldly, “Yes.”
