It had been four years since he last received a message from Rosalind.

“Rosalind: This is the remaining money. Please check if it’s correct.”
Ulric didn’t care about the money. Without even looking, he replied, “It’s correct.”
“Rosalind: That’s good. :)”
“Hmm.”
Ulric had never needed to learn how to continue a conversation because others always racked their brains to talk to him. He never needed this skill!
So now he could only wait for her to reply again. After a while with no response from Rosalind, he frowned and tried sending another emoji. This time, a red exclamation mark appeared on the screen…
Rosalind had deleted him from Whatsapp.
She just deleted him like that?!
Ulric stared at the glaring exclamation mark and the line of gray text below it. His handsome face froze.
A few years ago, after their first night together, he woke up the next day to find that she had also blocked him then. Years later, it was still the same scenario.
Rosalind hadn’t changed at all.
Ulric’s fingers paused for a moment before he impulsively sent a friend request.
Rosalind accepted quickly, almost immediately agreeing and then sending a message.
