Chapter 2371: Protect Her Completely

Book:Mr. Marsh's Twins Published:2024-11-11

Lisa was strong-willed and accustomed to grand scenes abroad. She ignored the girl Tom Fritz had his arm around and presented herself as the future mistress, standing tall and walking with confidence. She felt like a princess tonight, believing red was far more dazzling than black.
However, Jane’s expression changed upon seeing her. The act of changing clothes just for dinner was quite off-putting. Williams couldn’t help but glance at Lisa a few times because the red dress was indeed eye-catching, suitable for a large banquet. He didn’t have time to observe his mother’s reaction to Tom bringing his girlfriend home.
“Grandma, be careful.”
It wasn’t until Lisa helped the elderly woman down the last step that everyone came back to their senses. Agnes glanced at her a few times; she was attentively watching her steps, supporting the elderly woman with a voice as gentle as water, likely practiced to perfection. She seemed like someone who would be very popular with elders.
Lisa stayed by the elderly woman’s side, smiling sweetly.
“Hello everyone.”
Then she looked at Tom Fritz with admiration, “Tom, you’re back?” Her gaze skimmed over Agnes with an air of indifference, as if she didn’t matter at all.
Agnes didn’t feel awkward at all. Coincidentally, she didn’t care about Lisa either, ha!
From the moment Mrs. Fritz appeared at the corner of the stairs, her eyes were fixed on the young couple by the sofa. Tom met his grandmother’s gaze firmly, holding Agnes’ shoulder tightly.
Agnes could feel everyone’s eyes on her in this luxurious manor and grand living room. She felt like she had stepped into high society and needed to face it all with the wisdom she used to write stories. After all, she had no prior experience.
She felt Tom’s fingers tighten on her shoulder, his firm grip giving her reassurance. Tonight, she wasn’t fighting alone.
“What is your name?” Mrs. Fritz stopped less than two meters away from her.
“Grandma,” Tom Fritz spoke gently, introducing them.
“This is my girlfriend, Agnes. You can also call her Bubu.”
“Hello, Grandma.”
The girl bowed respectfully, her dark eyes bright with a smile.
“I’ve heard a lot about you from Tom. It’s an honor to meet you today.”
Strangely enough, this girl gave off a very comfortable feeling.
“What do you do?” The elderly woman looked at her kindly.
“How old are you? Where did you graduate from? Give us a brief introduction; I haven’t heard Tom mention you before.”
“I didn’t mention her because I wanted to find the right opportunity to formally introduce her to everyone,” Tom Fritz interjected smoothly to avoid any awkwardness for Agnes.
Since she was willing to help him out, he would certainly protect her completely.
Grandma looked at her beloved grandson and asked, “Do you think this is the right opportunity?”
“There’s no better time than Grandma’s first day back in the country,” Tom smiled and nodded at the elderly woman.
Lisa felt ignored and quite uncomfortable inside.
“Grandma,” Agnes looked at the elderly woman with her dark eyes and answered her questions.
“I’m 23 years old and just graduated. I currently work as a director in the comic department of Marsh Group and am also an artist with my own works. I graduated from Arkpool City Polytechnic University.”
Upon hearing this, Lisa thought Agnes was quite ordinary; only the name Marsh Group added some points for her, so Lisa still looked down on her.
