“This can’t be!” Grace said in her head as she tried to catch a good glimpse of the two couples walking somehow closer to her.
She was not sure she was seeing right; maybe she was just imagining, but she wasn’t; she just saw the man she saw at the elevator the other day, holding hands with Sophia.
Just as she was still trying to catch a perfect glimpse of the couple, since they were still in a very far distance, the couple seemed to be taking very elegant, bold steps and had no idea Grace was staring at them.
*Beep beep*
A message beeped into her phone; it was a text message. Grace hurriedly tried to check who had sent her a message.
Just as she diverted her attention from the couples to search for her phone inside her bag, she tilted her head in the direction to where she had seen them as she also tried to check the text message that beeped in.
Grace was shocked not to see them anymore; they were gone; they were no longer coming in her particular direction.
“Damn! Shit!” Grace said, and immediately she raised up her legs and started making forward steps to check the bending corner that she thought they had branched too.
Reaching there, she also couldn’t even see their shadow and talk less of themselves.
Grace stood over there for some minutes, peering at the two bending corners she thought they had diverted to, her eyes and face in something like a surprise shock.
“Good morning, ma.” A very sweet, feminine voice greeted Grace.
Grace trembled in shock as she flipped her head to where the voice that greeted her came from.
“G_ood morning.” Grace slurred as she tried to maintain her composure almost immediately.
“So sorry, I emmm…” Grace trails off, not really knowing what to say next.
“It is okay, Ma, did you miss your way, please?” The young, beautiful blonde hair lady asked Grace very respectfully.
She knew Grace was the wife of Alpha Nelson; who didn’t even know? She was a prominent lady in the country.
“No, I am fine. I just had to check on something I saw.” Grace said, still trying to check around.
“Are you looking for someone, maybe one of the staff?” The lady asked, her demeanor calm and lovely.
“I saw a couple that was walking in earlier; they are both dressed in a very black suit and their hands locked together; did you see them please?” Grace asked the lady, trying not to sound too desperate to know.
The lady was already getting a little bit confused; she could see how Grace was nervous, as though she was hiding something.
“Yes, ma, I saw the couples; they just passed.” The lady said and was looking at Grace in a very weird way now.
“Oh, okay, thanks so much. Maybe I was mistaking them for someone else.” Grace said dismissively.
“Okay, ma, I will be on my way.” The lady said, and after that she smiled and left Grace, who was still trying to take in what she had just seen.
Just as Grace was still reeling, she saw Alpha Nelson walking out from the elevator at the very front part leading to where she stood; her heart skipped a bit.
But she was also worried; she was worried that she cared about seeing Redford with Sophia.
Like damn! How was that supposed to make her behave so stupidly in front of one of the company’s staff members?
“Hey sweetie!” Alpha Nelson mouthed as he reached where Grace stood.
Grace glanced at Alpha Nelson; he was really looking so handsome and demure, his chestnut brown hair well combed, and his face in his usual handsome state that made him impeccably handsome.
His brown, dark eyes made her see their future in there, anytime she peered into them.
“I don’t get what you are talking about.” Grace said she was trying to focus on her phone now as she doesn’t want to have anything to do with Alpha Nelson.
Grace started walking back to her office without even paying any attention to Alpha Nelson, her contracted husband; he was more like an outcast to her.
Alpha Nelson maintained his composure and followed her behind; he knew while she was acting this way.
Unfortunately for Grace, she was supposed to be sharing a joint office with Alpha Nelson, unknowingly to her, because the previous day she had come to the company, Alpha Nelson’s office was next to her’s.
Grace put her finger print on the door to gain entrance to the inside of the office, not even sparing Alpha Nelson a stare after he had talked to her earlier.
She slid into the office room, and just then the very welcoming smell of the air conditioner filled her nostril, making her tension calm a little bit.
She used her back to lean on the door immediately she had entered as she tried to breathe in and out continuously to calm her nerves.
Her eyes were shut since she had entered, but the light in the room was still finding ways to enter into her eyes, and just when she opened her eyes, her mouth wowed in surprise.
The office was as big and classic as that of Alpha Nelson’s office, the one she had caught him and Sophia doing silly things. She waved the thought of her mind; she really didn’t want to recall the disgusting sight.
“The asshole thinks he can just flirt with the bitch Sophia, and then after that he comes to use sweet words to me, huh?” Grace scoffed as she walked down to take her seat; just then her eyes noticed something weird, and just when she was about to understand what the hell was going on.
Just then she heard the door click open, and just immediately she flipped her head to know who had come into her office; her eyes met someone she never expected, and the fact that he was smirking at her was what made her so infuriated.
“What audacity is this?” Grace wanted to yell, but her voice faltered.
“It’s a joint office, sweetie!” Alpha Nelson Day, and just his heels were clicking on the marble, evidence that he was going to have his seat.
