“Joint office! Hell no! Hell no! I can’t share a joint office with you, Nelson.” Grace yelled.
“Why? Why can’t you share a joint office with your husband?” Alpha Nelson asked, taking his seat, why he waited for her response.
“This marriage is not real; I hope you can recall that, after all, your parents dislike me. Not just that, Nelson, you have a childhood lover, the one who they want you to get married to, so please let us maintain our space.” Grace wanted to scream this to him, but her voice faltered as though she was about to cry already.
Alpha Nelson cleared his throat and was just looking at Grace as she spoke, as though he didn’t want to miss any statement she would make.
“Regardless, you are still mine; the deal is not over yet, and there is nothing you can do about it.” Alpha Nelson scoffed; now his voice was detached and icy.
“Exactly, I accept we are still in a marriage, but it is fake, I mean fake, and to clear you, I have nothing to lose if I decide to tell the internet it is a contracted marriage.” Grace said her tone almost sounded threatening.
Now Alpha Nelson stood up and walked more closer to her; his brown eyes had a very icy look, his face emotionless.
“You just said what?” Alpha Nelson asked as though he had not heard what she said earlier.
“You heard me clearly; I am freaking tired; the deal can be cut off; I will do anything for that, Nelson.” Grace said her tone was serious, and she didn’t give a damn about what Alpha Nelson would do or think.
“Then be ready for my wrath!” Alpha Nelson said, and it was clearly a threat.
Grace, with a very last wink, let out a sign and walked away from his presence, going to sit on the office chair that was for her.
“That is a threat, you know, right? To also clear you, I am not scared of mere threats.” Grace mouthed.
She was really not the quiet and naive girl, not even to her husband, Alpha Nelson.
Ever since Alpha Nelson and Sophia started with all of the flirting characters, she had lost respect for him; she believes all men are the same and would always cheat no matter what.
Victor and Alpha Nelson were no different; though she was still on the investigation concerning Alpha Nelson and Cindy, she knew something was going on behind her back.
“Threat? You th___”
“Yes, that is a threat, nothing more but a threat. You can threaten ladies like Cindy and Sophia, but not me, so sorry, but I don’t do that.” Grace clearly said and tried to focus on her phone; the text message that had seeped into her phone a while ago had no idea what it was talking about.
She was looking at her phone but really couldn’t register the text message on the screen; her head was hazy.
Alpha Nelson was really now enraged; he couldn’t get why Grace now had the guts to talk to him the way she pleased; he was really losing his temper, but he still tried to control his temper, but after she had spilled her last statement, he could no longer take it.
He held her neck with his hands, his grip so tight on her neck.
“What the fuck! I guess you have forgotten who I really am; I gave you the opportunity to be my wife, and you are not happy with that, huh?” Alpha Nelson said and was yelling at Grace, his mouth closer to her face.
Grace was struggling to breathe and free herself from his tight grip, but Alpha Nelson was adamant.
“Free me, you asshole! You would regret this!” Grace said her voice, trying to come out yelling, but due to what she was passing through at the hands of Alpha Nelson’s, she ended up in a strain whisper.
“Hey you woman, listen to me; talking to me so rudely and so disrespectfully is not allowed.” Alpha Nelson said, and after this she left her violently.
“Says a man who cannot respect a woman, says a man who always chases women and forgets he has a wife, emmm… you need respect, then go find it elsewhere… Maybe Sophia could give you that.” Grace said as she rubbed her hair on the neck and tried to clear her throat.
Her breathing was coming out harder as though she had just finished a marathon race.
Alpha Nelson stopped half way and flipped his head around to where she stood; he was really not going to behave weirdly anymore, even though she was pushing him to.
Having nothing to say to her, if not the stare they were throwing at each other, he walked away and headed out of the office, still pondering why Grace kept on repeating the name Cindy.
“Maybe she had found out, but she had not confronted me yet.” Alpha Nelson thought he was really confused.
I seriously don’t know what was happening; the marriage was peaceful at first, but now it is a little close to being called a hell of a marriage.
“Freaking dude, Asshole!” Grace scoffed with hatred immediately. Alpha Nelson was out of the office, and she was just the only one in there.
She was still feeling pains in her neck region, the exact place Alpha Nelson had had her, and that was really so.
The telephone on Grace’s office table rang; she was really not aware of who was calling, but she knew it’s business- related. She tried to calm herself so she could not just transfer aggression to the caller.
“Hello,” A sweet feminine voice came from the other line. ”
“Yes, Hello, who is speaking with me, please?” Grace asked and scratched her hair.
“I am Cynthia, one of the head secretaries.. Please, ma, your presence will be needed in the main hall, on the fifth floor, and the time is 10:00 AM. Just wanted to remind you, ma.” The feminine lady said, her accent sweet and her English fluent.
“I was told already. Meanwhile, thanks for reminding me, you would be there at the time stated.” Grace said that even though she was enraged and not in the mood for all of that, she tried to copy the lady’s calm demeanor.
The call ended after they were done, and Grace let out a sigh.
Alpha Nelson was going to the down floor to get some things done, and when he had just entered the elevator, he was surprised to see Cindy; she was looking classic and damn! He couldn’t understand what the hell she was doing in his company.
