The next morning, the early morning sun found its way into Grace’s room; she was still on her bed having a good sleep after everything that had happened the previous day, she was tired and stressed out.
The knock on her door made her roll tirelessly on her bed as she tried to open her eyes; the early morning sun made it difficult for her to open her eyes fully.
The doorbell kept ringing in her ears, she found it so hard to continue sleeping, it was erupting her sleep. She couldn’t take it anymore, so she used her pillow to block her ears as she murmured.
Grace wondered who the heck was that knocking on her door.
Her mom had never cared about her well-being; she didn’t care if she was sick indoors or if she didn’t go to work.
Elvis doesn’t really disturb her sleep, even he does, maybe it was regarding school fees payment.
Then who was knocking? This was something Grace didn’t know. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she stretched herself, trying to gather enough strength to walk up to the door.
Walking down sluggishly to the door with a frowning face, Grace used the key and turned it to the left twice, causing the door to make a jerk sound, evidence of unlocking.
Her eyes met those of her mother; and she could see the joy in her blue orbs and the smile radiating on her face.
“Good morning, mom.” Grace greeted her mom; she was astonished by her smile and by the fact that it was her mom.
She was expecting Elvis, her brother, to maybe come to ask her money regarding paying his school fees, not her mother.
She wasn’t expecting her mom.
“Good morning, my lovely daughter; how was your night?” Her mother asked her, walking into her small room.
It was a small room, with a bathroom at the left corner of the room; she also had a wardrobe and a small bed that only she slept on.
The painting was not really so beautiful, but it was okay.
“I am fine, mom. What are you doing in my room?” Grace asked, closing the door behind her and walking back into the room.
Why won’t she ask her mom what she was doing in her room? It was indeed the first time, and it was weird.
The way her mother also greeted her and spoke to her was really so new; she was startled. Her mother was just good at howling insults at her, scolding her, beating her, and even maltreating her.
There was no motherly love, but today she looked so happy and even entered her room. She couldn’t even recall when last her mom came into her room, not just that she came in with a broad smile.
“Can’t a mother come into her daughter’s room?” Her mother teased.
“Yeah, just that, I am__” Grace cut her speech and made an expression like she was really surprised.
“Okay, let’s just get started with parking up your bags. I am sure he is on his way by now.” Her mother said she was heading to the wardrobe.
“What!” Grace gasped. She just recalled that Alpha Nelson was coming to pick her up today.
No wonder her mom was really this happy; joy kept glinting in her eyes. This was really the reason she had finally admired and acknowledged her as her daughter.
“Mom, are you kidding me right now? Do you really want to help me in parking my luggage?” She was surprised at two things.
Firstly, was the fact that her mom was in her room and had woken up this early to help her pack her things.
Secondly, her mom was doing all this, not because she cared but because she knew what she would benefit from as she got married to Alpha Nelson.
This thought alone made her want to go insane, she was really enraged, the audacity.
“Why will I be kidding here? In fact, let me go and get Elvis to join us in the parking of your bags.
She said and patted Grace on her back as she headed out of the room.
Grace just stood there watching her mother, who was acting so weird; she was really disappointed; she was supposed to be happy, that at least her mom cared.
“But no, why will I be happy with such an irritating act? She just needed to benefit from the money _ for freaking continuation of drinking alcohol and getting drunk, like what the fuvk!” Grace scoffed, talking to no one in particular.
Her mother didn’t even care to know how the marriage and everything were processed, but she showed up to park her things.
She had never been this caring to Grace in her entire life, this was a mer act of greed_ money.
Grace just let out a sigh and walked down to her bed.
She thought of her new married life, now she was the wife of a wealthy Alpha.
“What will this marriage look like? Cruel? Sweet? Regretful?” Grace couldn’t help but ask herself; truly, she was a little bit scared. Men sometimes could be very heartless.
***********
A few hours later, Grace’s mother and her younger brother Elvis had succeeded in helping Grace park all her luggage the same as theirs.
Grace had clearly told her mother the previous night that they would all be going with Alpha Nelson. But Alpha Nelson had called earlier in the afternoon hours that he would be picking up just Grace.
He had promised to buy a new apartment for Grace’s mother and her brother Elvis.
***********
Alpha Nelson arrived, and by then Grace was done with everything. Grace was dressed in a black hoodie, a black jogger, and a white canvas.
Her long hair was well combed with oil and tied back in a ponytail; her makeup was light and simple. She was really looking very beautiful.
“Welcome Alpha Nelson,” Grace’s mother said, welcoming Alpha Nelson, who had come inside their building.
While his surbodinate_ men were helping Grace with her bags.
“Hi love, how are you doing? I hope you are prepared already.” Alpha Nelson said to Grace, who was stepping out of her room.
“I am ready; I will go get some of my things so we can just go now.” Grace said she was still contemplating whether she could do this.
Grace went into her room and swung on top of her bed; she was rethinking her marriage with Alpha Nelson.
She doesn’t want anymore; it was going to be very hard, coupled with the rule of not falling in love.
She also knew Alpha Nelson was up to something; that was why he had made it clear that no one should find out that it was a contracted marriage.
She was lost in a whirlpool of thoughts as she tried to stay calm, but her heart was really in turmoil.
Forgetting that Alpha Nelson was waiting for her, and he deals with time, no one dares mess with a little of his time.
“No, I can’t do it; I won’t continue with this marriage.” Grace mumbled to herself, and now she has made up her mind.
What! Grace is not going home with Alpha Nelson? What do you think will happen now? After signing the contract with him? What is her fate?
