Chapter 86

Book:Alpha Arthur, She is mine Published:2024-11-9

Beta Bronson;
“What will you do about these old men, Alpha Blade? They are on their right and we can’t hold anything against them,” I sigh, taking my seat in the chair behind the desk in Alpha Blade’s office.
“The men are the least of my worries, Bronson. Their wants can be dealt with only if I’m able to figure out how that young Luna died in my room. I’ve been so reckless about the situation for way too long, and it has affected me a lot. It’s time I sort out things,” Alpha Blade leans on the head of the couch in the middle of the office.
“Tell me, Alpha. How do we go about this? It’s been years and every trace of evidence must have been wiped out.”
“I don’t know, Bronson. I wish I had an idea. Some ways to go around it all. I can’t let those old men sacrifice an innocent she-wolf, just for the sake of fucking cleansing a clan,” Alpha Blade hugged his chest tightly.
I know what he’s going through at this moment. The weight isn’t just on him, but also on me as his Beta. We both have to act fast about this.
I also clearly understand the concern of those old men. An Alpha’s marriage is very important. It will help bring forth an offspring. One who will take over the throne. This is a vital part of being an Alpha.
Alpha Blade already has a child, but the pack will never recognize the child as the heir to the throne. Jasmine is only a mistress, and that’s what she will always be. I know she desires to be Luna, but Alpha Blade will never get married to her.
Crowning a Luna in the BlackForest Brother Pack is the same thing as crowning an Alpha. The only people qualified to be Alpha Blade’s Luna are either his fated mate; she must be powerful. Or a princess from another pack.
For this reason, Jasmine can never be Luna. And Alpha Blade has not even informed her about it. Well, it’s their cross to deal with. However, the pack members are also unaware of Jasmine’s pup. They didn’t know she had a child for him, they would have ordered her execution. As part of the price Alpha Blade was meant to face as a means of punishment for his crime; not having an heir was part of it.
“I’ve ordered Ryder to search for the warriors on duty that night. I need him to bring them back to me. I want to start my investigation with them,” Alpha Blade informs, and I slightly raise a brow in shock.
“Did they survive after that night? I thought you ordered their execution as requested by the Elders?”
“I spared their lives that night, Bronson. Didn’t have any reason to kill them.”
“Hmm…. Interesting. And now, their lives will be very useful to us.”
Alpha Blade moves away from the couch, and strolls toward me. Taking his seat right in front of me, his legs crossed, “Their lives will only be important to us if they have the information needed. So tell me, when do you intend to take a mate for yourself? You also need a pup.”
Alpha Blade’s questions make me whiff. Never have I thought of this aspect of my life. And since matters are arising, it’s time I get a mate for myself. The only lady I actually like so dearly is my gorgeous blonde hair Malicia. But she refused to return with me to my pack.
Her reason was her siblings. She plainly uttered to me that she couldn’t leave them alone in the NightShade Pack. And she gave me her reason why she wouldn’t want them to come down to my pack. I saw reasons with her.
If her siblings were ladies, it would have been easy for them to move. Since I returned to my pack, I haven’t taken my mind off her even once. I tried to get myself involved in other activities just to stop thinking of her, but it hasn’t been helpful.
Wish I could return to the NightShade Pack just to see her, but there is so much responsibility here for me. Alpha Blade and I have been away from the pack for way too long and it isn’t advisable for me to leave again at this point.
The time interval is way too short.
“I will get a mate soon. But that has to be after everything has been sorted out,” speaking to Alpha Blade, the thought of Malicia still fills my head.
The door to the office opens and Ryder walks in. Bowing his head, “Alpha, we are back with the men. We were able to get hold of two out of the three men,” his voice sounds very stiff to my ears.
That has always been the way he speaks. I don’t cease to tease him about it most of the time. Ryder is too inflexible for the young handsome man that he is. His major focus has always been on duties. Nothing else. Never seen him with any she-wolf or do other activities most young men enjoy in the pack.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he has never known any woman.
“Where are they?” Alpha Blade asks.
“At the courtroom, Alpha. Should I drag them down to you?” Ryder’s words made me laugh. My head shakes in disbelief. He isn’t gonna change anytime soon.
“You can bring them to the office, and please, don’t drag them. I don’t want to scare them away,” Alpha Blade orders.
Ryder bows and walks away.
Pointing my thumb over my shoulder, “Why don’t you relieve that young man of some duties? He needs to go out and have fun. Just like every young male wolf.”
“It has nothing to do with me, Bronson. I tried making him adjust a bit but all my efforts went wasted. I took him to a club, got a beautiful she-wolf to rock him hard, but he stopped her from going too close to him,” Alpha Blade breaks out in laughter. Seemed he just had a clear picture of the event that happened that day. “Ryder is a handful. Let’s leave him for the Goddess to take care of.”
The door opens once again and Ryder walks in with two men. The men kneel, bowing their heads. I know them. I still recall how diligent they were with their jobs. They were two of Alpha Blade’s father’s finest warriors. Now, I understand why Alpha Blade spared their lives.
On the day of that incident, I wasn’t present in the pack. Went on a mission in the Green Hood Pack. I was still in the Pack when I got the news about the death of Alpha Blade’s Luna. The young lady he just got married to. I also heard she was killed by him. That I knew was a lie. Alpha Blade could be a lot of things but not a weak Alpha who takes the life of an innocent she-wolf.
I returned, and heard some warriors were slaughtered because they failed to stop Alpha Blade from killing the young Luna. It was believed Alpha Blade wasn’t in his right frame of mind on the day of the incident.
Yahh! I heard from the right source; Alpha Blade, that he was drunk that night. But he didn’t kill her. He had left her in the room, and when he returned, he found her dead.
Ever since then, the Pack members believed a curse had befallen the clan, and Alpha Blade must perform some rituals to the Moon Goddess before he can carry on with his life; have a Luna and an heir.
The incident almost brought war between our Pack and that of the young Luna’s Pack. She was the crown Princess of the Moonlight Pack. And to please the Moonlight Pack for their loss, our Pack had to come to an agreement of giving thirty percent of our monthly returns to them.
The deal still stands to this day.
It was a crazy incident. The Pack members were forbidden to speak of it
Alpha Blade stood up from his position and walked toward the men. “You can rise,” he orders them, and they straighten up on their feet. “I’m sorry for making Ryder bother you two after I gave my words never to. But right now I need the help of both of you. I had chosen not to speak of that night for some reason but now, I have a better reason to speak of it. Tell me, what happened after I left Luna Eva in my room? I want to know all of it.”
The men stare at themselves for a while before one of them decides to speak. “After you left that night, Alpha Blade. A lady entered the room. Our third on duty granted her entry and he was the only one who saw what the lady looked like. After the lady left, a few more minutes later, we heard the screams of the maids, and we all rushed in. That was when we found the young Luna dead.
Our third on duty rushed out immediately in search of the lady but we later found him dead when we got dismissed by you,”
he explains.
“A lady entered my room when I left? And the only one who saw her is dead?” Alpha Blade asks, his eyes slowly trail in my direction.
“Yes, Alpha.”
Silence.
What lady went into Alpha Blade’s room and why didn’t anyone mention it to this day? The only lady that has the right to go into Alpha Blade’s room is Jasmine, and she doesn’t need anyone’s approval.
So, what lady do they speak of? And if this lady actually killed the young Luna, what was her motive? Something wasn’t adding up.
Why does everything seem like planned work? Someone killed her for a reason, and that reason will give us the answers we need.
Gazing at Alpha Blade, I sprint up from my seat and amble toward him. “Seems somebody actually set things up, and you were the target. What should we do about this?” I question him.
Alpha Blade rolls up his sleeves, his eyes darting between Ryder and me. “I don’t know the people involved in this. But we have to play their games with them. It’s time for us to go hunting. It’s been a while,” his nose scrunches in anger.
