Elara;
Instantly, the plate in my hand smashes on the floor, my feet drew back, my heart skipped in fear as I locked my widened eyes with her. The dangerous one.
The one who killed Nova.
I hit my cheek repeatedly, trying to wake myself up from this nightmare. No. This can’t be real. She can’t be standing right in front of me. Elara, wake up! Somebody, please wake me up! Anybody!
Why is my body trembling so much? Why do I feel so suffocated? I can’t breathe. I can…t… breathe.
“With how well you are struggling to breathe, I can tell you recall it all. What happened that day. How I fucked your man and tampered with your car. The wolfbane I injected into your system that made you weak. The one that killed your wolf, and got your human self all drugged up,” she nastily giggles as she steps closer to me.
I try to run away but my legs are weak, my body shivering as a chill runs through my veins. I can feel Nova’s wolf also struggling to breathe. We both can’t breathe. We are dying, someone should please help us.
My hand palms my temple as I scream in pain. Silent scream. My voice couldn’t be heard. The sharp pain I felt on the day I woke up in Nova’s body had resurfaced and it was also killing me.
My body slides through the door to the floor, and I fall to my side, trembling.
My sight becomes blurring as I watch her approach me. Hot tears roll down the sides of my eyes. I was honestly dying.
Is the part of the dream I had of that old lady manifesting? The part she told me I would face my woes, and a lot of pain was coming my way. Pains I won’t be able to survive or heal from unless the Goddess intervenes.
Woes, that will take everything from me. And the hurt will either kill me or break me. Is this truly that part of the prophecy?
Oh, Goddess, p…please save me.
“You survived the first time, Nova. But this time, you wouldn’t survive me,” her voice echoes in my head, and I feel a hard hit on my head. My eyes finally shut in deep sleep.
“Elara, please save me. They want to take me away. I didn’t do it,” Malicia cries out bitterly. Two hefty men hold her arms and tug her out of a dark place. Dragging her toward the open square where people gather for the BloodMoon rituals.
“No, please stop it. You are hurting her. Please, let go of her,” I try to move, but I can’t. A force keeps pulling me back, separating me from my injured best friend. “Oh, Goddess, please intervene,” I struggle hard to move but it isn’t fucking working.
They are taking her away. My best friend.
Suddenly, another force hits me and I feel the freedom that washes over my body. I rise to my feet and run in the direction where the men take Malicia. She was gone. They were gone. The market square was gone. Everything is blank.
Is this real or a dream? Everything I saw? How did they all vanish? No. Something is wrong with me.
The blinking of flashlights, and the honking of a car flood my head. I spin around on my heels. But I’m five seconds late. The car runs into me, hitting me to the side. I fall flat, my face brushes on the floor.
A soft cry escapes my lips as I struggle to move my body, but I can’t. The pain is intense. My body is weak but trembling, and my voice is lost in my throat.
I slowly raise my head, and I see how the car has crashed into a huge stone. Every part of the car is damaged. It’s a familiar car. That car belongs to Nova. That was the same car that killed Nova.
Nova!? No. No. Nova. She’s in that car. This day looks familiar. Hell, fuck!… It’s the day of her incident. It’s replaying. How it happened in my dream. I need to save Nova. She can’t die. This is her only chance to stay alive.
I groan in pain as I push myself up from the floor. My feet stagger, making their way to Nova’s car. And there she is with bruises all over her body. She is resting in the driver’s seat, her seat belt locking her into the seat. I try to unlock the seatbelt but can’t.
I’m too weak to push further.
Tapping her cheek hard, “Nova. Nova. Hey, you have to wake up. Please. This is our only chance to save you. Please, don’t die on me.” I place my fingers under her nostrils, she is still breathing.
My eyes scan through every corner, searching to find someone. Anyone who can help me. But no one. This place is fucking deserted. No damn person is here. Why can’t I find that maid? She was standing in front of the car the last time.
What is going on? Why do things look a little different?
“Save… me, Elara,” Nova’s weak voice cries out.
“Nova!” Once again, I try to unlock the seatbelt. She was alive. This is a chance.
Still struggling with Nova’s seatbelt when I hear a loud cry. “Elara, please help me!” The screams of Malicia’s voice come alive in my head. I pause, and my eyes dart in the direction of her voice. There she was, being dragged by those hefty men.
“Malicia!” I call out, staggering chasing after them as I let go of Nova’s seatbelt. My feet are very sore and they find it hard to move.
The men place Malicia’s head on a wooden guillotine, their gaze fixed on me.
“No, please. Don’t hurt her. Please, I beg of you,” I weep bitterly. My feet, unable to move any further.
One of them raises a sharp sword, and cuts off Malicia’s head. It falls on the ground, rolling toward me. My heart stops, my body stiffs and I fall to the ground. M…Ma… No….. No. This… No. I can’t breathe. No.
My body instantly jerks as the force of an explosion hits it.
My eyes widens.
My head slowly moves in the direction of Nova’s car. It has exploded. Nova was inside. She is also dead.
AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! NO!!!
“Elara! Elara, you have to wake up,” Alpha Arthur’s voice floods my head. Someone was shaking me hard.
My eyelids shoot open and I let out a long gasp. My body, trembling.
“Elara, look at me. You are safe. Just calm down. It’s all a dream. Calm down,” I feel a hard hand wrap around my body, and my head rests on a broad chest. My heartbeat is still racing.
“You are safe. You are fine,” the hand strokes my hair gently. Every part of me settles, and I fall into deep sleep.
My eyelids blink open as the brightness of the sunlight settles on my face.
“Good Morning, Princess Nova. You’ve slept for way too long,” a female voice utters. It was Marion when I turned around to look at who it was.
I press onto my temple, my head is slightly hurting me. “How long did I sleep?”
“Easy, Princess. You will mess up your injury,” Marion rushes forward, taking my hand away from my head.
“Injury…” I immediately feel the adhesive tape wrap around my head. I was actually injured. Was it a dream or reality? What part of it wasn’t a dream? “How did I get this,” pointing at the tape wrapped around my head.
“You collapsed in the room yesterday, hitting your head on the floor. Luckily for everyone, Josephine came to inform us about it.”
“Who is Josephine?”
Marion stares at me in confusion, “Did you lose your memory to the point you don’t remember your best friend?”
“My best friend?”
“Yes, Princess. Josephine is your best friend. She is Beta Goddard’s daughter,” Marion explains.
I don’t know who Josephine is, but all thanks to her for saving my life. Thinking of it, how did she get into the room? Wasn’t the door locked? What about the lady I saw before I collapsed? The lady who killed Nova. “Marion,” I gaze at her.
“Do you recall my name now, Princess?” Excitement fills her eyes. But that isn’t important right now.
“What about the second lady?”
“What lady?” She glared at me, confused.
“The one I met in the room when I came in,” I noticed Marion was even more confused than ever. “Don’t worry about it. Where is Alpha Arthur?”
“He’s in the living room with Alpha Maxwell and the others,” Marion informs me.
“Alright. Thank you,” I swallow softly, pushing myself out of the bed. Marion helps me to my feet. Without saying any words to her, I make my way out of the room to meet with Alpha Arthur.
I need to speak with him. It’s time for us to return. If Malicia is in danger, he’s the only one who can save her. I don’t know what is going on with Malicia but every part of me isn’t settled. My body is trembling, and my heart is hurting.
Dear Goddess, I hope my baby girl is still alive and ok.
