Gamma Loan walked in at the same time. His gaze fell on Beta Frank, who had twisted emotions on his face. He then shifted his gaze to the royal doctor, who had a fulfilled expression on his face, adding to Gamma Loan’s confusion.
He parted his lips to ask questions, but the tension and aura in the room were oppressive enough for him to keep the questions to himself and his mouth shut. He moved away from the door, allowing it to close, diverting attention away from him.
” What is going on?” As he approached them, a nervous smile appeared on his lips.
The Alpha’s mother sprang up, her hands on her face, overcome with disappointment. “If my son was impotent, how come he was able to have sexual intercourse with his mate, which resulted in her pregnancy?”
” Pregnancy?!” Gamma Loan exclaimed, looking over at Luna Mavana, who was taking a peaceful nap on the bed.
The royal doctor furrowed his brow as the Alpha’s mother posed questions to him, and he opened his mouth to speak when Luna Mavana sneezed.
All eyes shifted to her side as the Alpha’s mother assisted her in sitting up.
” What happened to me?” Raising her eyes, Luna Mavana yawned.
“You went unconscious” The mother of the Alpha muttered, her tone tinged with mild hostility, indicating that a doubt was slowly taking root in her.
The Alpha’s mother yelled, “Back to my question,” glaring at the royal doctor who was struggling with his inner demons and looking for more lies to add to them.
“You mean that impotency is the inability to engage in sexual activity?”
And the fact that the Alpha was ecstatic to learn of her pregnancy is sufficient proof that he did it. Where did you find your observations? “And I am very certain that they had something together on the night of their mate ritual.” “I am suspecting foul play.” Luna Mavana squinted her eyes, perplexed, as she tried to make sense of what was going on but only became more confused.
“Impotence, pregnancy, sexual intercourse. What is going on here?” She inquired, her gaze shifting from one person to another.
” I…”The royal doctor stuttered, unable to bring his thoughts together as one.
“Did you tell those lies on purpose to devastate me, or did you harbor a hatred for the Luna?” Alpha Damian spoke up after a few minutes of inner turmoil.
The royal doctor felt suffocated as if the room was slowly turning into a cage in which he was trapped; his breathing became shallow, his fists clenched, and his lips quivered.
“I never meant to confuse; I was too tense, which is why I said something different; I wanted to say that the Alpha was infertile rather than impotent,” he said, his breathing becoming ragged as silence filled the room.
A slight chuckle escaped his apprentice’s mouth as he averted his gaze towards him. He felt the burning gazes on his skin, prompting him to raise his head to meet their questioning looks.
He looked over to the royal doctor, his eyes blazing with surprise. He opened his mouth to speak after swallowing a large gulp.
“I was thinking about something else, and I apologize if it disrupted the room.” He apologized, taking a step back to distance himself from whatever tension was between them.
“Why is no one willing to explain this to me? What the fuck is happening?” Luna Mavana yelled, unconcerned that her statement or tone was inappropriate for Luna, especially since she was speaking with people in positions of authority.
“You heard him right, He said the Alpha can not father a child; Alpha Damian is infertile.” The Alpha’s mother snapped, shock written across her face. The Alpha’s mother’s sudden change in behavior broke her immediately.
Her pupil dilated, her gaze flickering as she stared at the Alpha’s mother; she could not look for long before tears welled up in the corners of her eyes.
“How can this be? He’s not infertile” She shook her head in disagreement. Her lips quivered as she sat up, unable to believe that her life was being destroyed in seconds.
” Are you a doctor? Are you pretending to be ignorant? I wonder where the bastard in your belly came from.” The Alpha’s mother sneered, jolting Alpha Damian out of his reverie; he was more shocked than Mavana and the other people in the room.
He had never seen his mother like this before, and he never imagined he would. He took a deep breath to speak but was cut off by Luna Mavana’s sudden scream.
“What the hell’s going on? I only passed out for some hours and everything has been turned down, turned against me!!. How could he be infertile? Or the narrative you are attempting to create is that I cheated on my husband,” Luna Mavana yelled, her fingers pointing directly at the royal doctor, invisible steams rising from her nostrils and ears.
“I think we are not getting things straight here, Luna Mavana. Please calm down.” Beta Frank took the initiative, attempting to alleviate the room’s high level of tension.
“I am calm. Why did not he tell the Alpha about this situation before, or is he trying to sabotage everything? With this action of yours, I am pretty sure you did not want to heal him on purpose, and it is because of your selfish desires.” Luna Mavana burst out, springing to her feet.
The room felt more silent than a graveyard. The only sound was the slow beating of their hearts.
Everyone looked at her, their eyes wide with disbelief.
Their mouths hung open and their lips parted simultaneously.
The air was thick with unspoken questions, but no one could say anything because they were all thinking about different things, particularly the royal doctor, who felt vulnerable and exposed.
His mind was racing with different ideas; he felt like she knew something, but how? He did not want to imagine or think about it to avoid creating a false narrative in their minds, so he parted his lips to speak.
“What exactly are you talking about? Or because you have been caught, you want to change the subject by inserting a suspicious statement about me.” He struggled to say something, his mind heaving with fear.
“Oh, because I have not gone in search of the herbs that will cure his illness, I do not want to expose your evil deeds on a lower level like this, but I will warn you not to mess with me. Do not include me in whatever card you are trying to play; I will not take it easy.” Her voice was firm, and each word was delivered with commanding attention.
The air vibrated with tension as she spoke, and her words echoed in their heads.
A proud smile curled up on Alpha Damian’s lips, and his expression twisted; he was pleased with the authority his Luna conveyed, but also curious about her statement.
The royal doctor’s gaze shifted between Alpha Damian and Luna Mavana. His palms were sweating, and his legs trembled.
He parted his lips to defend himself, but no words came out because he was having difficulty organizing his lies or defensive statements.
“What are you talking about?” The Alpha’s mother mumbled, her voice barely audible.
