Both his mother and his friend turned to face him, stunned.
“You are awake.” His mother exclaimed with joy in her eyes.
Alpha Damian jerked up from the bed, storming towards the door in an attempt to confront them, but Mavana stopped him right away.
“I do not think that is a good idea,” Mavana stated Alpha Damian turned to her because of her soothing voice rather than her statement.
He sighed and walked back to the bed, attempting to extinguish the flames of his growing rage. He could not believe they could go that far.
Especially, the Relation Elder sent his mate to kill him. He knew they had always despised him, but killing was too drastic.
“Daniel.” He gritted his teeth, his hands trembling from the overwhelming anger.
His wolf groaned angrily; touching their mate was the height of trespassing.
He will not stand for that nonsense.
“I will kill that bastard, coming into the pack unannounced was not enough, he touched my mate, I will…” He vowed, closing his eyes tightly, as the anger he had tried to subdue erupted again, and invisible steams escaped both ears.
He folded his fist and instantly collided with the mirror on the wall.
Mavana and his mother let out a short yelp, their eyes widening as they sensed anger filling the room. Alpha Damian was about to hit something else when his mother dropped to her knees.
” Please.” She muttered, tears streaming down her cheeks as she fixed a pitiful look on him.
He took in his lips and walked around the room, his fist still folded but pierced with tiny pieces of broken mirror. He was reckless, and so was his wolf.
The only thing that can calm him is witnessing Daniel’s death, which will happen soon. He sucked in his breath to calm down.
“I have a confession to make,” Mavana said, breaking the tense atmosphere in the room. They turned to her, various thoughts racing through their heads.
“Did you betray your mate?” The Alpha’s mother inquired, impatiently.
Mavana parted her lips and chuckled. She nodded in disagreement and walked to a chair in the center of the room, where she sat.
“It is about me and my identity.”
“My name’s Mavana Fae.” The name rang a bell in the Alpha’s mother’s head. It sounded so close and familiar to her, but she could not recall who bore the name. She sat on the bed edge to listen because she was curious after hearing that name.
“My father was the Beta of the Crest pack before dying in a war alongside my mother, who was also a warrior. I was born and bred in the Crest pack, but as an Omega, everyone hated me except my parents. After they died, my stepmother and her daughter moved to the pack house, and I followed, thinking I would be fine.” She sighed, peeling away the painful memories.
“That was the start of my problems; I was subjected to torture and insults daily. I thought my sad days were over when I discovered Alpha Carlos was my mate. My joy overflowed, and I rejoiced, only for my stepsister to inform me that she was the one who would be mated to him during the Mate ritual event, even though I was the true mate.”
“I could not do anything when I was rejected in front of everyone, so instead of making him reject me and making me a laughingstock, I rejected him. I thought everything was over, but they had other plans for me. I was accused of stabbing Luna, my step-sister, and was kicked out of the pack. Even after I left the pack, assassins were sent after me. They shot an arrow and stabbed me, causing my transformation into a wolf.”
“That is how I ended up at the Silverado Pack border,” she explained.
The room fell silent as everyone attempted to process the information thrown at them. The Alpha’s mother closed her eyes tightly, attempting to absorb the information.
“Are you Beta Fae’s first daughter?” “The Omega One” She flipped her eyes open, her gaze fixed on Mavana’s tear-filled face.
“Yes, I am. I am not sure how you knew him, but if you have any information about how he died, I need to know how my parents died.” She lamented, unconcerned about the impressions her statement created in their minds.
Alpha Damian has had his eyes fixed on her since the start of her confession. His thoughts were jumbled as he tried to figure out why the Moon Goddess mated him with an Omega who was once another Alpha’s mate. His racing thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.
His head tipped towards the door, and the statement that came from whoever was there pushed him over the edge.
Except for his mate and mother, no one knew he was awake. He walked to the door with a healthy smile.
The person knocking turns out to be his Gamma, and his face lights up with joy as he sees their Alpha back on his feet, looking healthy and strong.
He shrugged and decided to keep the news to himself, but two guards charged towards them, kneeling in front of Alpha Damian.
“There is trouble in the pack, Alpha,” they said together, their heads bowed.
Alpha Damian felt a wave of weakness wash over him, and his hands began to tremble with fear of something bad happening while he was out. His healthy face turned pale in the space of a minute.
Without even hearing the news, he sensed that the trouble was more than they had bargained for and that it would cause their pack long-term problems.
“Several families, including their home, were burnt to death. We discovered evidence that it was an intentional act committed by some people.” Gamma Loan muttered and lowered his head, dipping his hand into his front pocket and pulling out a napkin.
“At each scene, we discovered the same type of napkins.” He extended it toward Alpha Damian.
When he touched the napkin’s helm, his head banged immediately, accompanied by a throbbing headache. “Carlos,” he exclaimed, growling.
