21: What type of poison?

Book:Mavana; The Silver Omega Published:2024-11-6

Mavana rushed up to Alpha Damian and bent over with trembling hands, hurting even more than Alpha Damian. He had already lost consciousness, and his head was resting on the chair edge, his front covered in black blood.
The Elders frowned at her action and audacity in barging into the meeting room without permission, “What the fuck are you doing here? Do you believe that we will accept you just because you are the Alpha’s mate?” Civil Elder sneered, nonchalant about their Alpha’s health.
Mavana ignored his barks and called on Beta Frank for assistance in carrying him out of the meeting room. When she ignored him, The Civil Elder stormed towards her and yanked her up by her hair, causing her to shriek from the amount of pressure pulling her hair.
She took a deep breath and held his hand. Her grip tightened around his wrist, causing him to scream in pain and release her hair in the process.
He was surprised by how strong her grip was, but that did not stop him from yelling.
“You are a slave in our pack, and a royal cannot marry a slave, not even if the moon Goddess approves; it is a stain on our pack.” Civil Elder continued his rant, and the majority of the other Elders agreed with a slight nod.
Mavana muttered underneath and stood straight, taking her hands completely off Alpha Damian.
She wiped away both dried and fresh tears before confronting the Civil Elder, “I have always known you to be a stupid and shameless Elder, never knew you were also wicked.” She flared up, fearlessly, and had no intention of stopping, despite their shocked expressions.
“Did you just talk back to an elder? You are not only a slave but a spoilt brat; I wonder what voodoo you used on our Alpha.” Another elder, A young one, at that, spilled with hateful glares.
“I have never met you before; are you the elder in charge of invisibility? She made a mockery.
“I never meant to be disrespectful, but there are some changes a person must make when in the same environment as shameless beings.” Her final statement came before she bent over to assist Alpha Damian in raising his head from the edge of the chair. She motioned Beta Frank to assist and instructed Gamma Loan to summon the Royal Doctor.
Her commands were obeyed immediately, demonstrating power and authority. “Get away from the entrance, Pigs,” she said, sneering at the two Elders in the way and passing through the middle.
They eventually arrived at Alpha Damian’s room, where a Maid who had been following them opened the door and smiled at Mavana before leaving. “Weird,” she muttered as they entered the room.
They gently dropped Alpha Damian onto the bed and carefully positioned him while waiting for the Royal Doctor to arrive.
Cries from outside drew their attention to the entrance, and The Alpha’s mother rushed into the room, kneeling beside her son.
“What happened?” She lets out a cry.
The Royal doctor entered with Gamma Loan and proceeded directly to Alpha Damian.
Given how pale he appears, His lips were dry, and the dried blood at the corners of his lips caused the royal doctor to squint, perplexed. He sat on the bed and put his hand on Alpha Damian’s forehead.
“I do not think there is anything I can do again. His condition has gotten worse than before.” He sighed and slowly removed his hand from Alpha Damian’s forehead.
The Alpha’s mother widened her eyes, “What do you mean by that?” She inquired.
“The poison appears to have entered every organ in his body, and it will only take a few years for the poison to destroy him, assuming his immune system is strong enough to prolong it,” the Royal Doctor stated.
A dark aura quickly filled the entire room, and everyone was thrown into a state of mourning, including Mavana, who had just learned about the poison for the first time and had to close her eyes to keep her tears from falling.
“Why is fate so cruel to me? My second chanced mate will die in a few years, and his Elders oppose his rule. What happens to me? I can not allow him to die.” She reflected, and tears streamed down her tightly closed eyes, revealing her pain.
“But what if I found a cure?” Mavana muttered under her breath, believing it was only audible to her.
” Cure!!” Almost everyone in the room spoke at the same time as they shifted their gaze to Mavana.
“What if? I need to meditate” She thought, unaware that everyone else could hear her thoughts, until the Alpha’s mother stood up and approached her.
“Do you think you can find a cure?” She makes a weak inquiry.
Mavana was about to respond when her head banged. Her ears rang, and she felt a pulling sensation in her skull, which was similar to how she felt when she heard The Elder of Agriculture and Tilling speak.
“What stupid cure is she on about? Who is she? She better not try to heal him because I will kill her before she can.” She heard, tilting her head to where the Royal Doctor was standing and giving him a strange look.
“So, he is a betrayer?” She asked herself, as her body calmed, An idea crossed her mind, and a smirk appeared on her lips.
“I was born with the ability to identify and cure poisons; all I need to know is what type of poison is in his body,” she said, her gaze still fixed on the royal doctor, who was quivering slightly.
“Can you tell me what type of poison it is?” She inquired.
“I do not know the name, but it is one of the deadliest poisons if not the deadliest,” he replied, wondering why she was asking such questions. Nobody is aware of her mind-reading abilities.
“I will just look for the all-around antidote.” She bowed and exited the room with a sly smile.
