” Who the fuck is there? ” Alpha Carlos inquired, his tone loud and clear, accompanied by his stomping footsteps.
Daisy jumped up and ran into a corner to hide as she heard footsteps approaching. Her heart was beating fast, and her breathing was ragged, prompting her to cover her mouth and nose.
Alpha Carlos opened the door and met no one. He sneered angrily and returned to the room to continue the ongoing discussion.

Alpha Damian stormed towards the meeting room, his steps indicating danger and his eyes glaring daggers as he opened the door. Everyone turned to see who had entered and immediately bowed their heads.
Alpha Damian approached his assigned seat and found his cousin, Daniel, sitting comfortably on it. A surprising smile escaped his throat, and he returned Daniel’s gaze with a killer look; even the most fearless man would respect himself with that expression.
“Oh, your seat? I thought it was specifically designed for me.” He smirked and stood up to take the other empty seat, which was three steps away.
Alpha Damian folded his fists and took a deep breath to prevent himself from becoming enraged.
“What is today’s meeting agenda, and why are they here?” He pointed at his cousin and the middle-aged woman who had previously interrupted their bantering.
“Am I not…?” Beta Frank interrupted him immediately, his eyes filled with disgust. “You have no position in the pack except as the Alpha’s cousin, so I do not see why you should be present in this meeting room.”
All eyes were on him, not because of his statement, but because of the authority his voice exuded. Beta Frank had despised Daniel for his wayward and sneaky behavior, but his actions never revealed it until today.
“Who are you to say that? An ordinary beta? A beta that can be replaced at any time. I see nothing wrong with my son and me trying to get involved and familiar with the rules and positions of this pack.” The middle-aged woman muttered as she averted her gaze from her son.
Alpha Damian looked up at her, perplexed. “You both have been out of this pack since my father died, and you think now is the right time to return for what?” He inquires, trying to keep his tone from rising.
“Who knows if you will die tomorrow? We are just doing what is necessary, and my son was not yet mature when we left,” she replied.
“He is now mature, correct?” Beta Frank stated with a bland expression. The woman looked up at Beta Frank; if looks could kill, he would be six feet down already.
“He is now ready to take over.” She mumbled, and all eyes turned to her with questioning glares. She looked at everyone, confused, until she realized what she had said.
” Damn it!” She cursed, aware that she had just revealed her intentions. Her mouth darted with a smile, one she used as a ruse.
“I was just joking; let us just continue with the meeting.” She added and adjusted nicely in her seat.
“The first item on the agenda is to discuss the fight that broke out in Crest pack,” The Relation Elder read.
” It was not a fight, but an attack; the fact that they never included marriage in their plans; and the quick response their Alpha gave after the civil Elder spoke. They will not stop with the attack alone because they know we will not give them a peaceful negotiation or approach after what they did.”
“The only advice I have for now is to prepare our warriors and recruit more people; they may not be as powerful, but they will not hesitate to join forces with other packs to conquer us,” the pack’s adviser analyzed.
“Why on earth would they want to conquer us?” Gamma Loan muttered as his hands stroked his jaw.
” Who would not want to defeat the most powerful and formidable pack? Although we were the ones to awaken his goal, he will not back down,” Beta Frank responded.
“Let us leave that discussion for now; I have an observation that causes me serious concern.” Civil Elder broke in; he knows how to draw attention to himself.
“Will Alpha Damian accept the slave/rogue as his mate?” When he dropped the bombshell, Daniel sat up, his curiosity rising.
” Mate? I thought we royals did not have a destined mate and could marry anyone of royal blood or anyone related to people in positions in our pack or other packs. Is there something I am not getting?” Daniel inquires, shifting his attention from one person to another.
“The rogue that crossed our boundaries and that we caught is the one Our Alpha mated with.” Civil Elder sneered, frustrated.
” A rogue. Is the Moon Goddess playing a trick on us? The first time she blessed us with a mate and the lady turns out to be a rogue.” Daniel smirked mischievously, placing his hand on the table, and burst into mocking laughter.
“I think you should excuse us,” Beta Frank frowned, cutting Daniel off right away.
“The matter of our Alpha’s chosen mate is not our concern; we are….”
“Just shut up your disgusting mouth, you are in no place to send anyone out, especially someone of royal blood; if anyone should excuse us, it will be you,” Relation Elder interrupted him.
Alpha Damian was just looking at everyone, watching and planning his next move when he felt a sharp piercing pain across his chest, stinging and tearing throughout his entire body.
” Fuck!!” He muttered to his hearing, closing his eyes tightly to adapt to the pain, but it continued to increase. A croaking cough escaped his throat, and blood splashed onto the table.
Everyone was stunned as they jolted up from their seats, with Alpha Damian clutching his chest and coughing incessantly.
Mavana, who was still sound asleep, awoke with sweat trickling down her face and her body trembling like she had a nightmare. She jumped out of bed and dashed off in a direction she was unfamiliar with.
“Our mate!! He is dying,” Karina yelled as she slammed her body against the door, which swung wide open.
