Chapter 82

Book:Alpha Arthur, She is mine Published:2024-11-6

Nova;
“Don’t worry about it, Alpha Arthur. I’m just having wide thoughts about how my life will finally come back to normal,” I lied to him.
I just can’t tell Alpha Arthur the truth. How do I explain the dream I had after I regained my memory? How do I mention to him I will die the very moment I return to my body?
He will think I’m making excuses. I don’t want to return to my body because of my feelings for him. Because I just want to be with him. That’s part of my reason for not wanting to return to my body, but it’s not what’s causing this fear in me.
I knew what I saw in that dream. It felt real. My wolf actually returned to my body but she was weak. Died in just a few seconds when she returned. I also died alongside her.
I saw that old white lady. The mysterious one I saw that day woke up in Elara’s body. The old lady stood before me and everything felt real. She told me I was dead. I died on the day of my incident, and I will stay dead the moment I return to my body.
For the first time in a long while, I was terrified. My knees fell before her, pleading for her not to take my life for the sake of my parents. It was a bitter, painful experience.
The only thing I could recall her saying to me; Your mission will be accomplished. You can’t change the law of divinity. The law of the Goddess. She alone grants life, and she only can take it away. You must return to your body after your mission. If you don’t, then the girl, Elara, dies. The two of you can’t exist together in this world. One must go.
I wept bitterly but suddenly woke up from my sleep. Strangely, I felt a sharp pain in my heart and it felt like my heart actually stopped beating for a while.
All these! How do I explain them to Alpha Arthur? Will he even believe me? Nobody will believe me.
“It’s alright, Nova,” Alpha Arthur pats my shoulder. “I know you are strong. You will be a great princess when you return to your body. Something you need to understand, I will always be here for you. My pack will always welcome you when you come visiting,” Alpha Arthur smiles at me.
Lol…. He’s trying to make me feel alright, and I appreciate his effort. But I wish the problem was him. Huffff!
Dear Alpha Arthur, I only need to be alive to be able to visit you or your pack. I speak in my head.
“Thank you, Alpha Arthur,” I smiled back at him.
“Have you had anything to eat today? You look pale and slim,” his eyes scan through my body.
Is he concerned about me or Elara? I mostly get confused about which, when he acts this way. His attitude never fails to remind me this body belongs to his woman, and I only find myself wishing I was Elara.
“Let’s go feed you,” he tugs me by the wrist and leads us inside the mansion. Honestly, I haven’t had any food for the morning. Was too worried to think of what to eat. Marion, my personal maid, had tried her best to talk me into eating, but that conversation didn’t end well. I don’t know why she cares, when I wasn’t even in my own body.
She acted like she knew something.
Alpha Arthur ordered that the food be brought into our room. A maid did, and he succeeded in making me dig into the food.
“That man, David,” Alpha Arthur takes a position on the ottoman in front of me.
“What about him?” I ask, chewing the food in my mouth.
“I saw the lust in his eyes when he stared at Elara. He’s almost ready to rape her if given the chance.”
I swallowed the food in my mouth, “That’s how disgusting he is. I never knew he had this side of him, until the very day he tried to force himself on me. That was a day before my incident. I also forgot that day when I lost my memory. Speaking of this, I need to apologize to Elara about last night when he tried to force himself on her. She must be very terrified of him.”
David is an asshole. I’m sorry for using the curse word, but he deserves it. I was so disappointed when I rushed into Elara’s room that night, and saw the scene before me. The act of David trying to force himself on her.
Thank Goddess Alpha Arthur stopped him. I was about stabbing my claws into his stomach. I don’t care if he died.
My problem for that night was my parents. They said nothing about it. I was so disappointed in them, but had to act cool in front of Elara. I can’t let anyone trash-talk my parents. If I don’t act cool, I know she will pull out her frustration about them.
However, I don’t totally fault them.
They know nothing about David. Aside from the fact they see him as a loving son in-law. Shaking my head.
A beast being honored as a saint.
“He will be fixed in his position soon,” Alpha Arthur also digs into the food in front of him.
He isn’t mad right now. But I knew he was, the first time he had that encounter with David. I don’t know why he’s keeping his cool. Alphas can sometimes be a mystery to understand.
Quietly, we eat the food before us. When we are done, a maid comes to clean up the place. Marion had gone out earlier, didn’t know where. But I know she’s not back.
“When do you want to go speak with Elara?” Alpha Arthur reminds me of what I almost forgot.
“Oh. It almost slipped my mind. Thank you,” I push up from my seat and amble out of the room, in search of Elara.
I return to the garden, but notice she and Mother have left. And I make my way toward my room. She must be in my room.
Knocking twice on the door, Elara requested that I come. I do.
She was very surprised to see me.
“Should I leave?” My hands wrap around my chest as I watch her.
There is this disgusted look on her face which only indicates that my presence isn’t welcome.
“You are already in my room. But if you want to leave, you are fucking welcome to,” she lashes out, and I chuckle.
She’s such a stubborn one. How did Alpha Arthur get to deal with her?
“How are you feeling?” I fixed myself on the little sofa in the room.
“What aspect do you wish to know?” She dries her hair with a little towel. She just finished having her bath, and her body was in a white towel. It isn’t my towel. I think she chooses not to make use of my stuff.
“About last night. David, trying to force himself on you. I’m sorry about the incident.”
“If you are truly sorry, then return my body,” she stares right at me.
“Don’t worry, soon.”
She pauses for a while, and then continues with what she’s doing. “Are you so desperate to have your body back?”
“What!?” My eyes widened.
“I know you are beautiful. But my body is also great, so why the rush?”
“W-wait. Wh-at do you mean? I thought…”
“That was then. Not anymore,” she pauses. Letting out a deep breath as she gazes right at me. I noticed the fear and sadness in her eyes. Something was wrong. “I had a dream last night,” Elara utters, and my heart skips.
My voice hesitates for a while, before I finally speak up. “What dream? What was it about?”
There is something about werewolves. We don’t dream. That’s not a part of us. What we do is see visions, but that works with she-wolves who are gifted. The reason I called mine a dream was because I wasn’t gifted, and it wouldn’t sound sane to anyone if I called it a vision.
I believe that’s also Elara’s reason for calling it a dream.
“The dream wasn’t a nice one. It is something terrible and I don’t want to speak about it. Nova, you can have my body for as long as you desire. Do whatever you want, and return it when you’ve enjoyed everything you want in life,” her face falls in sadness. Her voice, filled with concern.
I blink hard, fighting my tears. Elara actually had same dream as I.
She isn’t worried about herself but me. Oh, dear, never knew she was such a sweet soul. I wish to spread my arms around her body, giving her a hug but I have to hold back my emotions. I don’t know how it will feel, to hug my own body.
“Thanks, Elara,” I throw her a smile.
“Can I ask you about someone?” Elara moves to the door and locks it. She returns, and sits on the bed. What is it with her?
“Who do you want to ask about?”
“The lady that serves you. I don’t know if she’s the head maid. But she always comes here to personally attend to me.”
“Do you mean, Marion? Long, dark hair with dark eyes. The Omega.”
“Yes.”
“What about, Marion? Did she do something to you? Was she mean?” Just asking. Marion can never be mean to anyone.
“No, she wasn’t. She was at the scene of your incident when I woke up. And she took care of me. She left before everyone arrived. I was shocked to see her here. I had been asking her about that day, but she said nothing. I also saw her in my dream. There is something about her,” Elara’s words make my eyes flicker.
Marion, at the scene of my incident? How? Why? What does she know? Oh, Goddess, this is getting more complicated.
