As soon as these words were spoken, Rosalind could hear a distinct gasp from inside.
It was clear that no one had expected such a high-ranking director like her to still be at the office at this hour, and to coincidentally overhear their gossip, catching them red-handed…
After a tense ten seconds, the door of the bathroom stall slowly opened.
Their eyes met-
Rosalind recognized the two girls; they were project accountants sent by the company.
“Go on, tell me. Whose mistress am I supposed to be? I’m very curious.”
“…Miss Ruell, we just heard it from others…”
Rosalind let out a derisive laugh, crossing her arms as she looked at them. “Who did you hear it from? Bring that person here. I want to hold them accountable for spreading rumors.”

Immediately, the two girls fell silent in unison.
However, Rosalind didn’t really intend to make things difficult for them; she just wanted to intimidate them a bit and put a stop to such rumors! After all, being a woman in the workplace was already challenging enough. She didn’t want any negative news following her around because rumors would only escalate if not nipped in the bud.

These two girls were afraid of Rosalind.
Her reputation for being strict was well-known in the company! Not to mention how she treated her subordinates; she was as harsh on herself as a demon.

The main point was that the company executives all spoke highly of her. Even though her position wasn’t very high within the company, if she said something, the higher-ups would take it seriously! If she asked for them to be fired, it would be done with ease.

Ulric’s name being mentioned out of nowhere made Rosalind’s heart skip a beat!
