The vampire dukes were alarmed by Devon’s words. Archibald quickly said, “Your Highness, you must not perform a Soul Sacrifice. It is the betrayal of the most noble vampire soul!”
“If House Lessane no longer exists, what use is a noble soul?” Devon retorted, his face extremely grim.
The vampire dukes fell silent collectively.
Indeed, if they were killed by this Atrarian, their souls would cease to exist. What use was nobility then?
“Sir, quickly kill them!” Rupert urged anxiously once more.
Rupert’s words made Prince Devon grit his teeth in anger. “Rupert, you despicable and shameless traitor, the scum of vampires. I swear to Satan, I will kill you with my own hands!”
Leo turned and glared at Rupert, a flash of killing intent in his eyes. He coldly said, “Rupert, are you ordering me around?”
Feeling the palpable killing intent, Rupert trembled and did not dare to meet Leo’s gaze. He dared not utter another word.
“Tell me, Prince Devon, what is Soul Sacrifice?” Leo’s gaze returned to Devon as he asked.
Devon organized his thoughts and explained, “Mr. Bloomer, Soul Sacrifice is one of the most mysterious rituals of vampires.”
“Vampires participating in the Soul Sacrifice make a contract with their own blood, offering their life and soul to the contract bearer, swearing eternal loyalty.”
“If they dare to betray, destroying the contract will subject them to a terrible curse that will torment them to death, no matter where they flee.”
“It is the most severe form of allegiance among vampires and the most loyal submission. No one has ever dared to betray it.”
“I hope Mr. Bloomer will seriously consider our sincere suggestion and let House Lessane bask in your holy light.”
Prince Devon spoke with a face full of piety, though his heart was bleeding in pain.
“I see,” Leo said, feeling greatly tempted. “Since Your Highness is so sincere, I shall accept your offer.”
The vampires felt relieved; this meant House Lessane could be preserved, albeit at a great cost.
“Thank you, my master.” The deep humiliation burned Prince Devon’s heart but also ignited his furious desire for revenge. “However, may I request a small favor?”
“Speak,” Leo nodded.
“Rupert, this despicable traitor, is no longer necessary to you. House Lessane cannot share the same glory with such a vile creature.”
Prince Devon’s venomous eyes fixed on Rupert’s pale face.
Other vampire dukes, including Rupert’s father, also had bloodshot eyes filled with murderous intent.
Leo turned to Rupert but remained silent for a moment, pondering.
“No, sir, you can’t do this. I am your most loyal servant,” Rupert sensed the impending danger and was terrified.
Leo sneered inwardly and shrugged lazily. “Don’t worry; I won’t harm you.”
“But it’s troublesome. My eyes seem a bit blurry now, and my ears are somewhat deaf. It looks like I’m tired and need some rest.”
The vampires immediately understood Leo’s meaning and grinned maliciously.
Rupert’s face showed extreme terror. “No, sir, you can’t do this. You can’t abandon me.”
“Honorable master, since you are tired, please take a rest,” Prince Devon said respectfully.
Leo leisurely walked to a corner of the hall and sat on a couch. Duke Aubrey quickly stepped aside to make way for him.
As soon as Leo sat down and closed his eyes, he seemed to fall into a deep sleep without any movement.
A cold evil wind swept through the hall, and a terrifying killing intent surged forth.
Realizing the danger, Rupert disappeared into a burst of black mist, attempting to escape.
Prince Devon sneered and pointed a finger. A sharp blood light shot out and hit the black mist.
“Ah…!”
A shrill scream echoed as the black mist shattered. A small black bat fell from the air and quickly transformed back into Rupert.
It was almost impossible for Rupert to escape under the watchful eyes of so many vampire elites.
A series of eerie shadows flickered through the hall as the vampires surrounded Rupert in a circle, their violent killing intent seemingly ready to tear him apart.
Rupert was terrified and trembling so much that he could barely speak.
“Brother Angus, he is your descendant. I’ll leave him to you. I’m sure you won’t disappoint us,” Prince Devon’s voice was like that of Satan from hell, filled with resentment and cruelty.
“Alright,” Duke Angus replied with a sinister smile and stepped forward.
“No!” Rupert’s eyes turned red as he made a final desperate struggle like a dying beast. “Dark power! Burn, blood!”
Boom!
With a loud explosion, Rupert’s body bent sharply as four huge black wings protruded from his back like sharp bone spurs.
The black wings began to wail as blood gushed out like a fountain. A fierce blood-colored storm erupted from Rupert’s body and swept in all directions.
Burning his own blood meant burning his own life. To escape, Rupert used the forbidden move of vampires!
Duke Angus sneered at this sight. “Foolish creature!”
Duke Angus turned into a black light and charged directly at Rupert in mid-air with wings extended.
In an instant, the blood-colored storm dissipated. Poor Rupert was already being choked by Angus and held aloft.
“Rupert, all your abilities come from me. How dare you burn your blood in front of me!” Angus’s voice was terrifying and sinister.
Rupert struggled desperately in mid-air but couldn’t utter a word, like a chick caught by an eagle.
“Angus, show no mercy to traitors. Let him face the most brutal punishment,” Prince Devon said coldly.
Angus nodded indifferently and shouted, “Great ancestor, your devout follower has betrayed us. Please grant him the harshest punishment-endless purgatory!”
As soon as Angus finished speaking, a large mass of red blood mist appeared out of nowhere and enveloped Rupert instantly.
Angus released his grip on Rupert’s throat. Suspended in mid-air within the blood mist, Rupert let out agonizing screams as countless hideous creatures resembling hellish spirits surrounded him and tore at his helpless body with their gaping maws.
