For a moment, it was a gruesome scene with flesh flying and bones exposed, truly unbearable to watch.
The strange thing was, every time Rupert’s flesh was almost entirely devoured, his body would regenerate, continuing to endure the endless agony of being eaten alive!
Despite this, none of the vampires showed any mercy; they watched the spectacle with relish.
Rupert had destroyed House Lessane and deserved such a merciless punishment!
The scene was so horrific that Leo couldn’t bear to watch any longer and coughed twice.
Prince Devon understood and gave Duke Angus a look.
With a cold expression, Angus waved his hand and said, “Shameless traitor, continue to suffer endless torment in the Inner Space!”
With a muffled sound, Rupert, wrapped in a blood mist, suddenly vanished.
Prince Devon walked up to Leo, bowed respectfully, and said, “Master, the traitor has been punished.”
“Where did you send Rupert?” Leo asked curiously.
“A place called the Endless Purgatory in the Inner Space. He will endure endless pain there for seven days and nights to purify his sinful soul,” Duke Angus replied.
The thought of such a punishment sent chills down Leo’s spine; it was far more painful than any other form of torture.
The punishments of the vampire clan were indeed terrifying.
On the other hand, Leo felt somewhat reassured. It seemed that these vampires who had made a pact with him would not dare betray him.
“Alright, now it’s time for you to fulfill your promise,” Leo said coldly.
Prince Devon replied respectfully, “Yes, Master. However, there is one more question: should House Lessane leave The Devil’s Party?”
Leo thought for a moment and said, “I won’t make your allegiance to me public. House Lessane will remain in The Devil’s Party.”
“Yes, Master. Please wait a moment; we will now perform the Soul Sacrifice.”
Prince Devon secretly breathed a sigh of relief. If other vampire families knew that House Lessane had allied with a human, they would be unable to survive in the vampire world.
“Everyone gather around for the Soul Sacrifice ceremony,” Prince Devon said as he knelt on one knee before Leo.
The vampire dukes had no choice but to follow suit and kneel behind Prince Devon.
Then, the vampires began chanting together, “Great ancestor, bear witness for us. Your descendants of House Lessane form a master-servant pact with another using our blood and souls, swearing eternal loyalty until death…”
Nine beams of blood-red light shot from the heads of the nine vampires, intertwining fiercely. The sight was as dazzling as the sun and as resounding as clashing metal, creating an impressive spectacle.
Suddenly, the blood-red light retracted violently and disappeared in an instant. A blood-colored ring floated quietly in mid-air, emitting a soft glow.
Prince Devon stood up and beckoned with his right hand. The ring transformed into a streak of blood-red light and flew into his palm.
“Master, please put on the ring and drop a bit of your blood on it,” Prince Devon said respectfully.
Although Leo was somewhat puzzled, he complied. After putting on the ring, he dropped a bit of his blood onto it.
With a burst!
Where the blood touched, the ring emitted a blinding blood-red light.
Soon, the light dissipated, leaving an L-shaped blood mark on Leo’s left index finger that quickly faded away.
“Master, our lives and souls are now bound to you,” Prince Devon said respectfully.
“How do I use it?” Leo asked nonchalantly.
“It’s very simple. It has merged with your blood. You can summon us or kill us with just a thought,” Prince Devon said with a solemn and sorrowful expression. His life no longer belonged to him.
“Very good,” Leo nodded in satisfaction. “Stay here for now. When I go to find King Solomon’s treasure, I will need your help.”
“As you command, Master,” the vampires replied respectfully.
“Then farewell, my loyal servants,” Leo laughed heartily as he transformed into a beam of intense white light and shot out of the hall, disappearing into the night.
The vampires exchanged glances for a moment before Elder Archibald sighed dejectedly and said with a bitter smile, “I don’t know if what we did was right or wrong. But at least it’s certain that among vampires, House Lessane is the unluckiest.”
The vampires sighed collectively and remained silent.
Suddenly, Prince Devon’s face turned cold. He raised his hand and slapped Arthur hard across the face.
Arthur screamed in pain and fell to the ground, blood dripping from his mouth.
“Father!” Arthur cried out in distress, looking aggrieved.
“This is all your fault,” Prince Devon said with a murderous look on his face.
Arthur didn’t dare argue and looked pitifully at the other vampires.
“Your Highness, it’s already done. Let it go; he didn’t do it on purpose,” Elder Archibald sighed.
Although the dukes also found Arthur particularly annoying, he was still the heir to House Lessane’s throne. They had no choice but to persuade Prince Devon: “Your Highness, spare him…”
Prince Devon couldn’t bring himself to kill his descendant whom he had nurtured for centuries. He glared at Arthur viciously and said, “If there’s another mistake like this, you know what will happen.”
Alan quickly helped Arthur up. Arthur lowered his head and trembled as he said fearfully, “I understand, Father.”
Looking at the dejected or fearful vampires around him, Prince Devon felt conflicted but suddenly smiled and said, “Actually, this outcome isn’t too bad. It might even be an opportunity.”
“Oh? What do you mean by that?” Duke Ashburn asked in confusion and slight dissatisfaction.
“Our House Lessane is only middle-tier among the thirteen vampire families. We not only have to guard against internal strife within the vampire community but also fend off attacks from other dark forces and face relentless hunts by Ecclesia.”
“Now, although we’ve lost our freedom, we’ve gained powerful protection. Not only will we be safe from now on, but we might also unify the thirteen vampire families and even the entire dark world. With our master’s power, this isn’t just a dream.”
Prince Devon spoke with excitement, his blood-red eyes full of enthusiasm.
The vampires were immediately intrigued. Elder Archibald remained skeptical and asked, “But will our master support us?”
“Unifying the dark world benefits our master without any downsides. However, we must plan carefully so that our master doesn’t suspect us. Otherwise, we can’t bear the consequences,” Devon said cautiously yet hopefully.
The vampire dukes nodded in agreement.
