Leo continued to tempt, “A dignified survival or a disgraceful destruction, it all depends on your small decision, Grand Elder.”
Adrian pondered with difficulty for a moment and suddenly said, “I can give you the treasure, but you must keep your promise.”
“No problem, we Atrarians have a saying, ‘A gentleman’s word is his bond,'” Leo smiled warmly.
“Grand Elder, you can’t hand over the treasure!” Four severely injured knights were anxious.
“Do we have a choice?” The Grand Elder seemed to age ten years in an instant, his eyes full of despair and pain.
The knights fell silent, their faces growing increasingly pale and terrifying.
Adrian picked up the staff in his hand and twisted the head of the staff.
With a click, the head of the staff opened, revealing a dazzling giant diamond.
Leo’s gaze was immediately drawn to the diamond.
“The secret of the treasure lies within this diamond. Take it,” Adrian removed the diamond and threw it to Leo.
Leo caught it and asked in confusion, “How do I use it?”
“This diamond is called The Star of Leah. The secret of the treasure was sealed inside by the previous Grand Elder with magic. As long as you inject Spiritual Power, the secret of the treasure will appear before your eyes, and only you can see it,” Adrian said painfully.
Leo immediately began to slowly inject his powerful Spiritual Power into The Star of Leah.
Suddenly, The Star of Leah burst into brilliant white light, and in this dazzling light, scenes of foreign lands appeared before Leo’s eyes.
This time Leo knew it was real. He quickly withdrew his Spiritual Power, and the white light disappeared instantly.
“Thank you for your cooperation, Grand Elder. We will take our leave now,” Leo said with satisfaction.
“Let’s go, Rupert.”
“Servants of God, Satan’s followers bid you farewell,” Rupert said smugly as he looked at Adrian and the others.
Leo disappeared in a gust of wind within the church.
Rupert quickly transformed into a bat and vanished in a swirl of black wind.
Adrian’s legs gave way, and he knelt painfully before the altar, gazing at the crucifixion statue of Jesus, continuously repenting in his heart.
The four knights also knelt in pain on one knee, repenting alongside Adrian.
Leo and Rupert silently left X Manor and stopped at the edge of the forest.
“Sir,” Rupert suddenly said.
“What is it?”
“Why didn’t you kill those knights and the old man? This way, no one would know we took the clues to the treasure,” Rupert asked in confusion.
“Killing them wouldn’t help,” Leo said indifferently. “Your family will soon suspect that you are not dead, and then they will trace it back to me.”
Rupert was immediately frightened. “Then, sir, didn’t you say you would eliminate all who knew? So…”
Leo frowned in disgust. He understood Rupert’s meaning. This cowardly, greedy vampire was truly trash. For his own safety and benefit, he not only completely betrayed his family but also couldn’t wait to wield a knife against them.
“Don’t worry about it. I will handle it,” Leo said coldly, then transformed into a red light and disappeared into the sky.
Rupert breathed a sigh of relief and quickly turned into a black bat, closely following behind.
Dawn arrived, painting the distant horizon a golden red.
In the secret room of Caesar’s Palace, the dim lighting created an oppressive and eerie atmosphere.
In addition to a few pieces of old European-style furniture, there was a huge coffin in the secret room.
The dark red coffin seemed to come from hell, with an eerie aura drifting in the dim darkness.
Suddenly, the door to the secret room opened, and a tall figure walked in, bowing respectfully. “Master, Alan awaits your summons.”
A cold voice came from within the coffin. “Alan, has Rupert returned?”
“No, Master. Rupert has not returned yet,” Alan shook his head.
“Useless! He can’t even handle such a small matter!” The coffin trembled with anger as if an evil spirit was about to break free from its restraints.
“Master, don’t worry too much. Perhaps something delayed him,” Alan quickly comforted.
“Hmph! That incompetent fool has never been reliable. If he weren’t my cousin and favored by my father for his sweet words, he wouldn’t have become the leader of the elite council,” came a venomous complaint from within the coffin.
The vampire inside the coffin was Arthur Marquis, son of House Lessane Prince Devon.
Alan didn’t know how to respond for a moment and chose to remain silent.
After his anger subsided slightly, Arthur asked, “Alan, what time is it now?”
“Master, it is already dawn,” Alan replied while feeling a sense of foreboding. By now, Rupert should have returned regardless of success or failure.
Arthur said in a deep voice, “I should rest now. I have to entertain my father and uncles tonight. When that useless fool returns, send him to me!”
“Yes, Mr. Arthur,” Alan replied respectfully and then left the room, closing the door behind him.
As Alan was about to return to his room, a young vampire hurriedly ran towards him.
“Lord Alan, something has happened!” The young vampire said anxiously.
“Victor, what is it?” Alan asked in a deep voice.
Victor reported everything he had discovered on the outskirts of town to Alan in detail.
After listening, Alan’s face changed dramatically. “Could it be that Lord Rupert has already…”
Victor looked dejected. “I’m afraid Lord Rupert has fallen.”
“How is that possible? Among all the marquises in the family, Mr. Arthur and Lord Rupert are the strongest. How could Lord Rupert be killed by an Atrarian!?” Alan exclaimed in disbelief.
Victor shook his head with a bitter smile. He couldn’t understand it either.
“Go investigate further. We need to see him alive or find his body if he’s dead. I will report this matter to Mr. Arthur!” Alan ordered with a heavy heart.
“Yes, Lord Alan!” Victor obeyed and left.
Feeling burdened, Alan walked to the door of the secret room and knocked. “Mr. Arthur, I have urgent news to report.”
The door opened automatically, startling Alan because Arthur was not lying in the coffin but standing before him with a livid face.
“Mr. Arthur…” Alan dared not look into Arthur’s eyes.
“I heard your conversation. That complete waste Rupert couldn’t even handle an Atrarian. He has utterly disgraced our noble vampire lineage!” Arthur roared in anger.
Alan smiled bitterly. “Mr. Arthur, based on Victor’s report, it seems likely that Lord Rupert has fallen. What should we do next?”
After calming down from his anger, Arthur regained his composure and thought for a moment before saying, “If Rupert was indeed killed by that Atrarian, it means that Atrarian is formidable. Revenge is inevitable. Let’s wait until tonight; my uncle and Rupert’s father will not let that Atrarian go.”
