The flight was successful and Ava Leon was now stepping down from the helicopter, having her brothers in front and the other at the back.
She looked like a fairy princess in her beautiful designer gown. When the brothers successfully persuaded her to come along, she changed into another dress and had her makeup done.
The diamond jewellery she was given by Jimmy was rejected initially. The cost of them was so exorbitant that if she should save money to buy them, in the next twenty years, she isn’t sure she still will be able to afford them.
“They’re for you, Ava Blake. Mom wants you to wear them home” Jimmy had urged her. He has told her that she hadn’t seen anything yet, there’s a lot more than she had thought, waiting at home for her.
When she was done dressing up, she glanced at the beautiful woman staring back at her at the vanity mirror and she couldn’t believe her eyes that woman was actually herself.
Dejected, without hope, lost and abandoned a few hours earlier and now, she’s a different woman. How unimaginable can someone’s situation change within a couple of hours?
“I’ll help you style your hair. I do it often for my fiance” Santiago offered and before Ava could say no, he was already standing behind her and his hands on her hair.
Ava wondered if this is how adorable her biological family is. Are they showing off or they’re letting her know the bond of love and affection that held them together.
As Santiago styled her hair, Ava was staring at him from the mirror and she saw a slight resemblance between him and herself. Looks like they look alike for real.
“Thank you brother” Ava appreciated when she saw how her face lit up after he was done with her hair. Santiago nodded and bent over, planting a featherlight kiss on her chin and Ava stiffened.
“Can we leave now?” Jimmy hastened. They should be out of New Jersey as soon as possible. His gaze fixed on Santiago and Ava.
At this time Ava gradually regained her composure and she blushed, subconsciously touched her chin. No one ever did that to her. Her parents kiss her temple often but not her chin.
“Oh my gosh, she’s blushing” Santiago teased and the siblings laughed over it. As Ava descended the helicopter, she thought about what the future and life held for her now.
She knows where she was coming from but doesn’t know what would become of her in the future. The future appears so blank and distant at the moment. She silently prayed that the future holds better days for her than the unpleasant feelings of the past
She looked ahead and was surprised when several men dressed in black and dark shades stood in two rows and a path was created for them. The helicopter has landed at the massive grassland of a magnificent mansion.
When Ava saw the mansion, she was dazed. Are the owners royalties? The beautiful architectural style of the house and the artistic design kept her spellbound.
“This is our home, Ava,” Santiago announced as they got off the helicopter completely. Now, they’re walking in the midst of the paths created by the men in black suits.
“And here’s where you belong henceforth” Jimmy added. As they passed, each of the men bowed and the brothers just waved a hand at them all.
Ava couldn’t say a word. She suddenly lost her ability to respond to her brothers. She’ll live there henceforth and that’s now her home?
Her home, not a place she would be treated less than a maid like in the Lester’s mansion? But this mansion was way more magnificent than the Lester’s mansion.
She raised her head and she saw a couple standing holding hands. She doesn’t need to be told that they are her parents. The woman is pretty, and her eyes were moist as if she would let the tears pour down any moment.
As Ava drew closer, she saw the woman tightened her grip on the man. Her nervousness is written all over her face but the tall elegant man maintained a calm composure.
“That’s our parents. You see Mom’s eyes, it’s teary because she has never got to be with you since birth” Santiago whispered.
Then Ava felt a certain part of her was ignited with emotions and floods of thought cross her mind. She’s pregnant too. If one day, she gives birth to the baby and she is taken away from her, how will she feel?
Nancy Blake had urged her husband to accompany her to await the arrival of their kids. Simon Blake had persuaded her to wait until the helicopter landed successfully and when it did, she sprang up on her feet and dragged her husband along.
Then she saw her beautiful daughter approaching. Immediately she sighted her, she knew it’s her, the daughter she had missed for over twenty years. She was walking in between her brothers and her emotions let loose.
She felt like running towards her, holding her in a long hug and weeping on her shoulders but she was trying to suppress her anxiousness by holding her husband firmly.
And when Ava eventually came before her parents, her eyes glued on the older woman. Both women have welled up eyes, they look really alike.
Nancy let go of her husband’s hand, her hands fisted and placed by her side. She was staring at the baby she gave birth to that year, the one she doesn’t have a chance to hold in her hands.
But now, a grown beautiful woman. She can’t hold her in her arms anymore but she can open her arms for her to walk into them and that’s exactly what she did.
The two brothers and Simon Blake don’t seem to exist before the two women of the Blake’s family. The men exchanged glances with broad smiles on their faces.
Ava shifted her gaze from her mother’s face to the open arms and she couldn’t hold back anymore. The arms that were supposed to carry her all her childhood days, now open for her.
“Mother” Ava said and threw herself into Nancy’s open arms. The latter hugged her tightly as if she was going to stop her from slipping away from her again.
“My baby,” Nancy stuttered and started sobbing. They both cried on each other’s shoulders, different thoughts running through their minds.
They remained that way for a long time and everyone was patient for them until Simon Blake coughed slightly and said “I’m her father, Nancy”
