3rd person’s POV
Kayden and Celine’s tension had been building for weeks, like a storm about to erupt. Their relationship had been based on lies, jealously, and manipulation, but when the repercussions of their actions became evident, neither of them could continue on this road.
The night air was abnormally chilly, soaking through Celine’s fine clothing as she stood alone on the balcony overlooking the Twilight Fang Pack’s expansive garden. The moonlight cast a lovely, silver glow over the gardens, but the beauty of the setting did little to calm the conflict within her.
Celine had always been recognized for her beautiful beauty and ferocious drive, but today her customary confidence was replaced with a deep sense of sorrow. The events of the previous few weeks had unfolded like a nightmare from which she could not awaken, forcing her to confront the repercussions of her actions.
After she had realised what her mother made her do, to ensure she gets Kayden to marry her, instead of him marrying Kate who was his Fated Mate.
She had thought her mother want her to marry the second in command of the Twilight Fang not knowing she was just a pawn in her games to ensure Kate doesn’t get to marry her Fated mate so that her wolf will remain suppressed.
She had a strong yearning for Kayden, but she had not expected to pay the price. The knowledge that her actions had made Kayden not accept Kate as his Mate. Her carefully crafted veneer was disintegrating, revealing a heart filled with guilt and sadness.
She and her Mother had made Kate’s life unbearable and when she realised she had lived all her life making Kate’s life unbearable and jealous of Kate, her heart were filled with sorrow.
“I didn’t even have a life of my own while growing up other than making Kate suffer for a crime she didn’t commit” she muttered to herself.
The departure of Kate from the Twilight Fang Pack, made her realise that, and she has also heard of the news of Kate growing to be a strong Luna, and how her relationship with Alpha of Bloodmoon pack has grown strong, when she had thought the Alpha will make life unbearable for Kate, since he was ruthless and cruel, but luckily for Kate she ends up being the Alpha’s Second Chance Mate And here she is stuck with a beast she had thought was an angel.
Kayden has shown his true color shortly after their marriage, when he had found out it was Celine’s Mother that had suppressed Kate’s wolf, he had promised to make life unbearable for her, defiled her body the way he wanted and had threatened her not to ever tell anyone about it.
The present Kayden she is seeing now, now regret not saving his Mate from cruelty from his family.
Kayden had thought he loved Celine, and refused to accept his Fated Mate because she has a weak wolf and he tried every possible means to push her away, even though his wolf compel him to care for Kate sometimes when she was at Twilight Fang pack before she was used as an exchange of Alliance.
And now himself and his wolf yearns to have her, which is another reason why he wants Dimitri the Alpha of Bloodmoon Pack dead so that he can have Kate back to himself.
Since he also finds out about Celine’s Mother actions toward Kate, his feelings for Celine has turned to hatred and his wolf couldn’t stand the presence of Celine, hence he maltreats her. This has caused a strain between them over the week.
He has been feeling guilty for his actions towards Celine as he realizes this wasn’t anyone’s fault but him, if only he had looked past Kate’s weakness and accepted her, he could have detected her wolf strength himself but he was blinded by power and the lust he has towards celine.
He strode to their Chamber after the meeting with Alpha Damien, with a determination in his heart to find closure between both him and Celine’s relationship.
“I can’t go on like this, I should just let her go,” Kayden muttered beneath her breath.
Celine wasn’t in the room, but he could sense her scent, so he called out.
“Celine?”
The sweet, hesitant voice drew her out of her thoughts. She turned to see Kayden standing at the doorway, his face filled with conflicting feelings. He was simply dressed, yet even so, he exuded authority and strength. However, today he appeared more like a lost soul than the fearsome Beta she had always coveted before their marriage.
A sense of fear caused a shiver down his spine “What do you want, Kayden?” Celine’s voice quiver slightly, revealing the tempest of emotions she sought to conceal.
Kayden moved onto the balcony, reducing the gap between them. “I wanted to talk,” he murmured calmly, keeping his attention on her. “I’ve been thinking a lot lately, about everything that’s happened.”
Celine gulped hard, her throat dry. “Thinking about what, exactly?”
Kayden’s eyes softened when he glanced at her. “About Us. About what we have done. I now know that something went horribly wrong. I was so overwhelmed by my own anguish and rage that I failed to consider how my actions affected you, Kate, or anybody else.”
Celine’s heart wrenched as she heard real regret in his voice. She used to think of Kayden as a natural force, an irrepressible source of passion and strength. Now she saw him for who he actually was: a man overwhelmed by his own demons, unable to escape the destruction he had caused.
“I wish I could undo everything,” Celine said, her voice cracking. “I wish I hadn’t tried to separate you from Kate. Instead of attempting to destroy someone else’s happiness, I should have sought out my own.
Kayden’s eyes filled with anguish as he approached her, reaching out to touch her arm. “Celine, I…”
“No,” she said, moving away. “Do not say anything. I need to say something. I’ve realized that you’re not who I thought you were. You’re like a lovely monster-a creature that appears heavenly on the surface but hides wickedness beneath. And I am not sure I can manage it.”
Kayden’s face contorted with sorrow. “Celine, understand your pains and frustration…”
“No, I have caused this to myself Kayden,” she said firmly, her voice growing stronger. “You no longer get to judge what is good or wrong for me. I’ve been an idiot, and I’ve injured Kate, who deserved none of this. I need to find my own way now, without you, without my Mother or anybody else.”
Celine’s eyes welled up with tears as she took a step back, her heart burdened at the weight of her decision. Her love for Kayden had been twisted into something dark and terrible, and she could no longer ignore the truth of who she had become.
Kayden’s face contorted with a mix of hurt and rage. “So, is this it?” “Is this your final decision?”
Celine nodded, her resolve unwavering. “Yes. I am done with all of this. I need to find a way to put things right and recover from the damage I’ve done. And it begins with leaving you and I need to leave this pack and everything behind.”
Kayden’s emotions soared, and the air between them crackled with tension. Where will you go to, you don’t have to leave the pack, and his eyes were loaded with unsaid emotions. You belong here Celine.
“No I don’t, remember, I am not even Alpha Damien’s real daughter,” Kate said with her voice breaking. I won’t be able to heal up seeing the damage I have caused with my actions. My Mother doesn’t care about my feelings all she cares about is how she is will be in control.
“Do you believe stepping away will cure everything? Do you believe it will make you feel any less guilty? Kayden asked.
“I don’t know,” Celine said, her voice shaking. “But this is the only way I can try to make apologies. I can’t take part in this anymore. I need to seek my own atonement.”
Kayden’s shoulders dropped, he felt a sense of relief but at the same time, the weight of the Celine’s decision on leaving the pack weighing down on him. He feared for her safety, coupled with the plot against Bloodmoon he knows they are planning and He knew he couldn’t persuade Celine differently, and deep inside he knew she was correct. The damage had been done, and their relationship had reached its breaking point. And both of them can only heal up if they are apart.
Kayden’s voice, tinged with sadness and regret, followed Celine as she turned away. “I’m sorry, Celine.” “I apologize for everything.
Celine halted, her hand on the balcony railing for support. “So am I, Kayden.” “So am I.”
Celine went away, her footsteps booming across the peaceful night. The moonlight lighted her route as she moved into the darkness, leaving Kayden alone on the balcony, crushed by the weight of their broken relationship.
***
The next day at dawn, Celine had wake up before anyone else, she had already packed few of her belongings with foods and water that could sustain her for some days.
Kayden walked in, “I want you to head toward the southern region, ” he said silently.
“Why, is anything going on up North?” Celine inquired curiosity filling her voice. she had not known about Alpha Damien’s plotting, but she had been hearing of some rogue attack at the Bloodmoon Pack borders but she doesn’t think it was serious.
“Don’t ask questions, just go down south,” Kayden said with a firm voice. I have help you make arrangement with three packs that have accepted to accommodate you, so you can go to anywhere you see fit.
“Take this,” he said handling over a small ledger to Celine. In there are the names, locations and contacts of those packs. Some other contacts are also inside, if any need for help arises, you could contact them for help.
“Thank you,” Celine said as she collected the ledger from Kayden.
She carefully strode out of the room and Kayden followed her behind and went toward the back of the pack house quietly to avoid attentions, they went toward the vehicle Kayden had already prepared for her.
She ignites it carefully and drove off, facing the road that lies ahead and hoping the Moon Goddess can forgive her and show her mercy by giving her a second chance to find her own mate.
Kayden turned on his heel, and head back to the pack but his eyes came in contact with Alpha Damien who was standing some distance away watching them in silence.
Kayden halted in his track, not knowing what to say.
Kayden rushed to Alpha Damien’s office, he didn’t know what he would meet. He had just been caught helping Celine leave the pack.
It- it was her decision, Kayden said with his voice breaking as he stepped into Alpha Damien’s office.
“I don’t care,” Alpha Damien said with a cold voice and without lifting his head from the Map he was scrutinizing.
You should care about what her Mother would do to you when she finds out.
You need to get your act together, We can’t afford to be distracted, this time around.” He added with a firm voice.
As they were discussing, the door sprang open, Luna Jane walked in…
She lunged at Kayden, where is my daughter, she demanded, tighten her fist around Kayden’s throat.
She left, Kayden said amidst breathe,
She dropped her hand from his throat, leaving him to gasp for air,
What did you mean by she left, Jane asked.
What have you done to my daughter, she asked her voice breaking,
“I did nothing to her,” Kayden retorted. she just realized she isn’t living the life she wants, she realized she is nothing but a pawn in your game, she had lived her life doing all your biddings, all your evil acts and she realized she needs to stop, she needs to live a life for herself.
Luna Jane lunged at Kayden once more, but this time around she was stopped by Alpha Damien.
Enough, he growled.
You can follow your daughter if you want, she would still be at the territory, as you can see i and Kayden are busy.
