Kate’s POV
“I woke up, the next morning as the morning’s ray crept into the room”
After the ceremony yesterday I and Kayden had headed to his Cabin.
By the time, I wake up, all my belongings I’ve been brought into his Cabin, as Kayden had ordered some of the guards to do so immediately after the ceremony a day before since I am now married to him.
I stood up from the bed moved closer to where they were stacked to arrange it well as I heard Kayden’s voice speaking with one of the pack’s maid.
He came into the room, and informed me my Father has requested for the both of us in his office.
“I froze as I heard what he said and I remembered my father’s statement “I disown you” as he stormed out of the ceremonial ground in anger yesterday.”
” Kayden voice brought me back, as he said get dressed, I could see in his eyes a worry as we both don’t know what my father has to say.”
I opened my luggage and brought out a pink collar dress with a hint of peach undertone, wore it and let my brown long hair drop to my shoulder.
Kayden also wore a Brown Khaki trouser and a green Shirt.
We both stepped out of his cabin, walk side by side toward the pack house, kayden held my hand in his, an excitement rush through my spine as i feel safe and protected, a feeling i have never felt before as i’ve always been treated with cruelty and as a servant since my mother had died since i was little.
“As we passed by, we could hear murmur from the pack members as some look at us with disdain in there eyes, but Kayden doesn’t seem to be bothered by them, since no one could dare to confront him except of course my Father.”
” As we reached, my father’s office door, I could hear my heart pounding in my chest as if it will come out.”
” Kayden placed his hand on the door knob and opened the door gently as we both stepped into the office.”
My Father was sitting behind his large huge desk, crafted from the sturdy trunk and branches of an ancient oak tree. The desk’s surface was smooth and polished, reflecting the light like a still pond. The chair creaked slightly as he leaned back, and raises his head up to face us, his eyes narrowed slightly, it’s gaze intensifying as the eyebrow above it furrowed in disappointment, despite the disappointment look, his gaze remain steady and unwavering, as if the emotions churning beneath the surface were deliberately being kept in check.
“Sit, he ordered”
As we both took our sit facing him…
“You both embarrassed me, He said.”
Why didn’t you inform me Kayden?
Why didn’t you inform me, you want to claim Kate as your mate when you know how I have planned this alliance and how we really needed it.
“I felt relieved as I didn’t expect my Father to speak to us in such a calm manner at all, I had thought he would told us to leave his pack since we both went behind his back to soil his plans but the reverse is the case.”
Kayden is the son of my Father’s best friend and Beta, who had died few years ago, also Kayden has always put the pack’s interest before himself and has always been loyal to my father, and losing a strong Beta at this point while he had just lost alliance with the Bloodmoon Pack, and attacks from rogues and other enemy packs, will increase as news about the incident would have reached them and they will want to use that opportunity to their advantage in carrying out their attacks, so it is understandable if my father is lenient in his judgement, but i could see the disappointment in his eyes as he speaks.
There has been a major attack happening at the southern border of our Park, as rumored amongst the packs servant a big large Silverwood tree as been found inside the ancient forest at the border of our Park as my Father had claimed the land as part of his parks land, leading to rivalry between the Embermoon Pack and our Pack, as well as rogues who claim to be the habitant of the forest.
Hence, why this alliance with the Lycans is so important to my father, ofcourse at a price which is me being traded to that Beast.
“I thought I could will be able to handle my Fated Mate being traded away to a known gruesome Lycan, not until the a night to the ceremony when I realized that I couldn’t, Kayden said.”
My Father turned to face me, and said I meant what I said yesterday,”I disown you as my daughter as you are of no use to me since you are just a weak half Breed.” I froze.
” I won’t stop you both from getting married, he said.”
He stood up from his chair and stepped out of his office, slamming the door behind him, leaving us both sitting there speechless.
Kayden stood up, and told me to stand up and we both stepped out of my Father’s Office.

As we work across the pack house, I saw Celine walking towards us and I felt Kayden’s grip tighten my fist. As Celine moved closer to us, we stopped as she stood in my track folding her arm in her chest.
“How did you manage to convince Kayden to claim you as his, you this weak Omega Half Breed, She said.”
” As she put her hand forward to grab my neck, Dimitri held her hand, she is my wife now and you will respect her, the same way you respect me Celine.”
I stood there, awed with amazement as I watch Kayden stood in defense of me.
A spark of excitement washed all over me, as no has ever defended me from the cruelty I received from Celine and her Mother ever since I was a kid, no one not even Kayden not even Kayden, as he always turn a blind eye to their treatment towards me but showed me care in their absence, but today it was different.
I felt so happy as what I’ve always wished for, that all my sufferings in the hands of my Stepmom, Celine and other members of the pack has finally comes to an end, i am no longer that weak Omega who is treated as a servant rather than the Alpha’s daughter.
“And not only did my misery ends, I am now married to the second in command in this pack, even though that cost me the right as the Alpha’s daughter, but i wasn’t bothered since i never felt like one before.”
” As I am rejoicing in my mind, and looking at Celine as she seem dismayed at Kayden’s reaction towards her as wasn’t expecting that.”
” She dragged her hand out of Kayden’s grip and stepped back, facing Kayden.”
” What has she done to you, she asked.”
Why did you want to stain your bloodline with the good for nothing Half breed’s blood?
“You are the strongest Beta in this pack and you choose to take this Half Breed as your wife, when there are other strong Beta and Gamma females in this pack who will do anything to have you as there husband.”
” And not only that, you choose this thing over the interest of your pack, when you know what is at stake.”
Kayden’s brow furrow slightly,
” Hmmm, I sense jealousy, Kayden said”
“I scuffed, trying not to laugh and I washed as Celine’s eyes turns red as she said to me, your excitement will be over soon.”
Your days are numbered! she said as she stormed away in anger.
