The Alpha and Luna rush into the room. The Alpha, Nova’s father, storms toward Alpha Arthur, holding his arm. “You dare not do such here, Alpha Arthur. Let him go!” He roars with much anger.
Alpha Arthur lets go of David’s neck.
David falls to the ground, his hands clutching his neck as he coughs hard.
“What have you done, Alpha Arthur? Why did you stop him from having his mate for the night?” Luna cries out. She, and Nova help David up to his feet. David tucks his now-sleeping cock back into his pants, his eyes burning with fire as he gazes at Alpha Arthur with so much hate.
“I did nothing to him,” Alpha Arthur’s eyes are still fixed on David. Alpha Arthur’s face was etched with so much rage. He was ready to attack David again, this time, probably kill him for good.
Nova’s father steps forward, standing right in front of Alpha Arthur. He’s also burning with rage. “You did everything, Alpha Arthur. Everything wrong. You know the rules of my pack. No one dares prevent a male from having his she-wolf, and you did just that,” he groans.
That’s the thing with pack rules, and I hate a lot of them. Their rules always tend to favor the male, and protect them like they are gods. What about the she-wolves? What fucking happens to us. Our feelings, wants, protection, bodies, what happens to all of that?

“I know the rules, Alpha Maxwell,” Alpha Arthur roars back at Nova’s father. “And the rules do not involve the imbecile forcing himself on her.”
“What do you mean, Alpha Arthur?” Alpha Maxwell’s anger in the tone of his voice decreases. His eyes gaze right at me, “Did David try to force himself on you?”
About nodding my head as a response when David’s voice cuts me off.
“She was being disobedient, Alpha. I only wanted to spend a good time with her. It’s been four months since I last set my eyes on her. My balls are full. A man always has wants.”
“Not with my daughter, you idiot,” Alpha Maxwell roars, his fist clenched by his side. “Let’s have some words outside, David. Right now!” Alpha Maxwell storms out of the room.
David shoots me a malicious glance before storming out of the room to meet with Alpha Maxwell.

“Are you alright, Nova?” Luna steps forward. Her concerned eyes inspect every part of my body. “Hope you are not hurt?”

Luna wraps her arms around my body, “Sorry for David’s action. I will get him to apologize to you in the morning. But I first need to stop your father from killing him,” she breaks off the hug and rushes out of the room.
“Is this how your mother thinks?” I turn toward Nova. It was just the both of us in the room. As I stare at Nova, everything seems like I’m gazing and speaking right at myself. It was truly me standing right in front of me.
“That’s how every mother thinks,” she replied with a straight answer.
“My mother doesn’t think that way. She will never pick a man who tries to force himself on her daughter over her daughter.”
“Oh. Good for you. But my mum never picked David over you. She only tried to explain his actions toward you.”
“Hmmm! Alright…. Speaking of David,” my hands cross around my chest. “What happened between you two?”
“Why?”
My brow slightly raises as I give her the ‘seriously’ stare. She was feigning ignorance. Why?
“Elara, you need to tell me why you ask me that. Perhaps it will help me regain my memories.”
“Memories? Did you lose any?” I can feel my face furrowing in a little frown.
“Yeah, I did. I can’t recall everything that happened before my incident. The only thing I remembered was the fact that I left David’s home, after finding out he didn’t care or love me. He only wanted to use my family’s wealth to liberate his family from bankruptcy. The event day that made me find out the truth, is actually want I’d yet to recall. What did David say to you Elara?”
Honestly, she didn’t recall it all. I could feel her sincerity within me. I knew she was being truthful right now. But why am I so sure? How am I able to fill her energy and know she isn’t lying to me? Why this connection with Nova? Is it because of the soul swapping?
“Elara, please speak to me.”
“Well,” clearing my throat. “David spoke about your memory still intact and how you are pretending to lose them. He said you recall it all.”
“Recall what?”
“The event that happened before your incident. What he did and said to you. What you saw. His voice was very creepy when he said these words to me. What did you see, Nova? Maybe if we figure out what David did, then we can figure out ways to return to our bodies,” I hold her hands tightly.
“Um, well. Uh…. I don’t remember anything,” I saw the lies in her eyes as she threw her gaze away from me. She was hiding something from me.
Why do I have this strange feeling that Nova does not want the switch of our souls to happen? Her countenance turned pale when she heard me mention the fact we had to go back to our bodies. What was it with her?
“Elara, just try and avoid David the best you can for now. Stay off him. I can’t tell if he’s dangerous or not. I only know his greedy part,” she sighs and makes to walk away.
I tug her back to me. Light tug.
“When do we start working on getting our bodies back? And since I’m avoiding David, when will you start avoiding Alpha Arthur? And stay away from him?” My eyes dart back and forth, glancing at her face.
She goes mute for a while, before letting out a deep breath. “Must we go back to our bodies?”
“What!?”
“I know I’m being selfish but I don’t care. Elara, please let’s stay this way,” I hear the desperation in her voice as her hands brush over mine.
Snatching my hands away from hers, “Are you sick? Why would you want to take over my life and have me take yours? Do you know how messy my life is? I have a stepmother and stepsister who are after my life. A father who doesn’t care. A fated mate who doesn’t know what he wants with me, but I’m married to him. Can’t even speak….” My words paused in my throat.
The memory of the kiss between Alpha Arthur and Nova floods my head. I wanted to speak of Alpha Arthur, but I couldn’t. She doesn’t need to know about him, any experience that I had with him. That’s my moment with Alpha Arthur.
And it stays between us.
“Elara, I can take all of this. I’m ready to face them all being you. I don’t care. Just let our bodies stay this way.”
“Why? Why do you so much want this? I don’t understand a thing. Going back to our lives should be our priority.”
“It’s just,” I feel her hands trembling as she holds mine. “It’s just because I’m in love with Alpha Arthur and I want to be with him forever.”
“What!?” I snatch my hands away from hers, my teeth grind. My blood shoots high as anger begins to wash over me. How dare she want Alpha Arthur? How dare Nova?
