Lion said, “Then check if there are any surveillance cameras. If we can find him, I must represent our company to thank him properly! Without this person, the consequences would have been unimaginable.”
As the two of them continued talking, they didn’t notice that Rosalind’s thoughts had already drifted away.
A tall, thin man.
Could it be… him?
Before losing consciousness, she thought she heard a familiar voice, just as gentle as it was a few years ago. She assumed it must have been her imagination.
Because Ulric should be abroad getting married at this moment, how could he be here to save her!
But Mr. Wong’s words made her heart race.
A strange intuition surged within her…
“Mr. Wong, is there any news from the investment company today? Did anyone come for an inspection?”
Mr. Wong was taken aback, “No, don’t worry! We won’t let the investment company see this scene; it absolutely won’t affect the project’s progress.”
Rosalind’s lips moved slightly, “Are you sure… absolutely sure?”
“Of course! If someone from the investment company came and I didn’t know about it, then I shouldn’t be the project manager!” Mr. Wong smiled reassuringly at her, but the large movement pulled at his wound, making him wince in pain.
Lion and Mr. Wong both thought she was concerned about the company’s project and comforted her that even if the person in charge of the investment company saw this incident, as long as it was resolved satisfactorily, there wouldn’t be any issues.
They didn’t know that Rosalind only wanted to ask:
Ulric, did he come?
But in the end, she didn’t ask because reason told her it was impossible; it was just a stress-induced hallucination when she was in danger.

In the Dreamview Hotel.
Ulric had already packed his luggage and was sitting on the sofa explaining the details of a new project to Cedric.
On the other side of the video camera, Cedric glanced at him cautiously and hesitated for a long time before he couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Walters… do you need to reschedule your flight?”
Ulric’s fingers paused for a second. He looked up, “No need.”
“Okay, should I continue to track the situation at the hospital for you? After all, the doctor’s feedback just now said she was still quite seriously injured-”
“Cedric, I just happened to help an employee of a partner company.” He interrupted Cedric coldly.
His voice was calm and indifferent.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Walters…”
Cedric knew he had said something wrong and quickly apologized.
Ulric took a deep breath and remained silent for a long time before speaking softly, “I’ve been searching for her whereabouts for four years. It’s like there’s a knot in my heart that hasn’t been untied. So I’ve been stubbornly and obsessively looking for news about her. Now that I’ve seen her living well and doing well in her career, I realize that I’m the only one who hasn’t moved on. So, I should move on too.”
He rarely spoke such long sentences and seldom expressed his inner thoughts.
Cedric nodded, “I understand, Mr. Walters.”
“Arrange for a car to take me to the airport.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up the video call, Ulric packed up his computer and, after ensuring nothing was left behind in the room, walked out.
When he reached the hotel front desk, suddenly someone called out to him from behind.
“Sir!”
Ulric turned around; it was still the receptionist who had helped him deliver candy. “What is it?”
“The parents of the little girl you gave candy to yesterday left you a business card!” She said as she handed over the card.
