Leo followed Charles, heading towards a specific direction in the casino. They first entered through a side door and then ascended to the second floor. The second floor was just as lavishly decorated. Charles led Leo into a lounge.
Charles gestured towards the sofa, “Mr. Bloomer, please have a seat.”
Hearing this, Leo was slightly startled. A powerful killing intent erupted from him as he glared sharply at Charles and asked coldly, “How do you know my identity? Who exactly are you?”
“Mr. Bloomer, don’t be nervous,” Charles said, suddenly bowing to Leo. “I am Marquis Charles, at your service.”
A marquis?
Leo was momentarily stunned and used his spiritual sense to scan Charles, immediately understanding.
“I never expected that El Dorado Casino was run by vampires.”
Charles smiled, “The vampire clan’s businesses are spread worldwide. A place like Las Vegas is naturally the perfect choice for running a casino.”
“How did you know my identity?” Leo asked curiously.
Charles replied, “We vampires possess the world’s most advanced facial recognition technology.”
“I see,” Leo nodded and then asked, “If you hadn’t recognized my identity, would you have taken action against me after I left the casino?”
Charles looked embarrassed and replied honestly, “To be frank, Mr. Bloomer, in Las Vegas, any casino that loses this much money wouldn’t just sit idly by. Fortunately, the casino’s surveillance identified you.”
Thinking about the benefits he had received from the vampires, Leo laughed generously, “Marquis Charles, since we are friends, I’ll return the money I won.”
Charles quickly shook his head, “No, no, Mr. Bloomer, you’ve misunderstood me. You are our most esteemed friend. No matter how much you win in the casino, you can take it all.”
“If the Duke finds out that you returned the money to me, he would tear me apart.”
“Alright then,” Leo said.
In truth, Leo felt a bit guilty because he had used his special abilities to win the money, which was essentially cheating.
Charles had a waiter bring drinks for Leo and then respectfully asked, “Mr. Bloomer, are you here in Las Vegas for business or pleasure?”
“Pleasure,” Leo replied, lounging comfortably on the sofa and savoring his drink.
“In that case, please allow me to host you properly,” Charles said with a tone and demeanor that bordered on humility.
Leo had long experienced the enthusiasm of vampires and could only nod, “Then I’ll trouble you, Charles.”
“Mr. Bloomer, it’s my honor to host you,” Charles said sincerely. “It’s almost dinner time. Please join me in enjoying Las Vegas’s cuisine.”
Leo nodded as he sipped his drink.
That night, after a satisfying meal and drink, Charles insisted on personally escorting Leo to the entrance of El Dorado Casino.
“Thank you for your hospitality, Marquis Charles,” Leo said with a smile.
“Dining with such an esteemed friend as Mr. Bloomer is my honor,” Charles replied sincerely, though his facial muscles were not particularly attractive.
“By the way, I’ll be staying in Las Vegas for a few more days. If there are any other casinos under The Covenant’s name, please let me know now.”
Leo still felt a bit uneasy about winning money from “friends,” especially since The Covenant had always treated him well.
The vampire clan had two major opposing factions: The Covenant and The Devil’s Party.
The Covenant’s full name was The Covenant Alliance, while The Devil’s Party’s full name was the Demonaic Feast Alliance.
The Covenant Alliance created the second generation of vampires, who had thirteen descendants-the third generation.
These third-generation vampires were survivors of Noah’s Flood and established thirteen great clans. They later rebelled and exterminated the second-generation vampires.
Thousands of years later, vampire bloodlines had reached the fifteenth generation.
Before the Middle Ages, vampire members often became local rulers due to their special abilities and immortality, even vying for power and causing fear among ordinary people.
Around the fourteenth century, the Catholic Inquisition confirmed the existence of vampires and began large-scale hunts.
The hunts put vampire survival in an unprecedented crisis. To cope with the dire situation, several vampire clans formed an alliance known as The Covenant Alliance.
When The Covenant Alliance was founded, it established six strict commandments that required all member vampires to follow forever.
The highest principle of these commandments was that vampires must remain hidden within human society and never reveal their identities to avoid endangering their survival.
The other major faction outside The Covenant Alliance was the Demonaic Feast Alliance.
Although any clan could join the Demonaic Feast Alliance, it was mainly controlled by two clans.
Demonaic Feast Alliance did not recognize reclusive doctrines; they ruled through fear, force, and threats.
Legend has it that the Demonaic Feast Alliance would bury new vampire members alive to instill fear and then control them through rituals and bloodlines.
Demonaic Feast Alliance also regarded humans as inferior animals to be driven and slaughtered at will.
Other clans that did not join either The Covenant or The Devil’s Party usually remained neutral or acted opportunistically in their conflicts.
Charles said politely, “Besides El Dorado Casino, none of the other casinos here belong to The Covenant.”
“Alright then. Goodbye,” Leo nodded and prepared to get into his car.
“Mr. Bloomer, if you need anything in the next few days, please don’t hesitate to ask,” Charles quickly added.
“Okay,” Leo nodded again and got into the Rolls-Royce.
After Leo left, Charles’s attendant asked in confusion, “Sir, Caesar’s Palace is under The Devil’s Party’s control. Why didn’t you tell Mr. Bloomer?”
“I just said that besides our casino, all others belong to The Devil’s Party. I believe those who betrayed our ancestral teachings will soon receive their punishment,” Charles said with a sinister smile.
Location: Caesar’s Palace.
Multicolored neon lights illuminated this grand and elegant building. A giant spherical lamp at the top shone like a diamond, attracting countless tourists from around the world.
Leo walked in casually and looked around, amazed by the opulence inside.
The enormous hall was decorated with gold and jade; expensive marble floors were so clean they reflected people’s images.
Even more astonishing was a flowing river that divided the hall in two.
Several stylishly dressed boatmen were leisurely paddling classical long boats on the river. Arched bridges spanned the river, connecting the two halves of the hall into a cohesive whole.
Even without gambling, walking around here was an enjoyable experience.
