Leo observed the various European-style gambling pavilions along the river and thought to himself.
As he reached the riverbank, he waved his hand. A young man saw a potential customer and eagerly rowed a small boat over. “Sir, would you like a boat ride? Anywhere you want for just ten dollars.”
“Take me for a tour,” Leo nodded.
“Sure, please get on board and be careful,” the young man said happily.
Leo settled in the back seat. The young man shouted, and the slender boat slowly cut through the water with the rhythmic sound of rowing, heading deeper into the hall.
One by one, the gambling pavilions slid past the boat. There were exotic styles, as well as Frankish and Albion styles. Each was unique, yet all were exquisitely beautiful, true works of art.
For a moment, Leo felt a sense of temporal disorientation, as if he had traveled back to the Middle Ages.
“Stop on the right; I want to go up and gamble a bit,” Leo instructed.
“Alright, sir,” the young man skillfully docked the boat and looked at Leo expectantly.
Leo casually handed him a twenty-dollar bill. “Keep the change.”
“Thank you very much, sir,” the young man said joyfully, bowing deeply.
Upon disembarking, Leo was greeted by enthusiastic staff everywhere.
With a casual wave, a smiling attendant immediately approached him. “Sir, how can I assist you?”
“Please exchange this for one hundred thousand dollars in chips. This is for you,” Leo said, handing over his bank card and a ten-dollar tip.
The attendant’s smile widened as he took them with both hands. “Sir, please wait a moment. I will handle it right away.”
He then hurried off to the chip exchange area.
Leo glanced around and saw an empty spot at a nearby dice table. He walked over and took a seat.
The expressions on the gamblers’ faces varied from excitement to dejection.
Soon, one hundred thousand dollars in chips were delivered to Leo.
“What’s your name?” Leo asked the attendant.
“Jack, sir,” the young man replied respectfully.
“Jack, stay with me tonight,” Leo said. In a large casino, having someone to run errands was convenient.
“Yes, sir. It’s my honor to serve you,” Jack said enthusiastically. He had been around long enough to recognize that Leo was wealthy.
At that moment, the dealer called out, “Anyone else want to place their bets?”
Leo placed ten thousand dollars in chips on “6.”
Even in such a renowned casino, betting ten thousand dollars at once was rare, drawing considerable attention.
The dealer’s eyes lit up as he rang the no-more-bets bell.
The dice were revealed: 1, 2, 3. Totaling exactly 6.
Leo won his bet, eliciting gasps from the surrounding gamblers.
The dealer was surprised by Leo’s immediate win and smiled wryly. “Sir, you have incredible luck.”
After paying out the winnings, the dealer collected the dice and began shaking them again with professional skill.
After about ten seconds, he stopped and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, please place your bets again.”
The gamblers resumed betting, but few bet on specific numbers. Most placed small bets of one or two hundred dollars on high or low.
Leo pushed all his original and won chips onto “17.”
The surrounding gamblers gasped at this bold move. Betting everything on a specific number was rare.
Even the dealer’s calm demeanor changed. As an experienced dealer, he knew that Leo’s bet on 17 had a high probability of winning.
Slowly opening the dice cup, the top faces of the three dice were 6, 6, and 5-totaling 17.
The gamblers exclaimed again. “Oh my God, he won again! His luck is unbelievable!”
The dealer wiped the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief and smiled wryly. “Sir, you are truly skilled.”
Leo shrugged, stood up, stretched lazily, and smiled. “Just lucky. Jack, collect my chips; let’s try something else.”
Jack eagerly complied, gathering all of Leo’s winnings into a tray.
As Leo turned to leave, two burly men in black vests appeared before him.
Leo asked coldly, “What do you want?”
“Sir, your gambling skills are too good for the main hall,” said a middle-aged man in a white suit who appeared between the two men. “I suggest you try your luck in the VIP room. It offers the best service and has no betting limits.”
“And who are you?” Leo asked.
“I’m Jason, the manager of this casino,” the man replied with a smile.
“What if I don’t want to go to the VIP room?”
Jason’s face showed an apologetic expression. “Then we’ll have to ask you to leave. Your presence is disrupting our operations.”
Leo smirked. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll win more money in the VIP room?”
“If you can win in the VIP room, that’s your skill,” Jason replied with a meaningful smile.
“Lead the way then,” Leo said.
“This way, please,” Jason gestured.
Gathering his courage, Jack asked, “Mr. Jason, may I serve this guest in the VIP room?”
Jason noticed Jack for the first time and shrugged indifferently. “As long as the guest doesn’t mind.”
Leo patted Jack’s shoulder. “Come with me.”
“Thank you, sir,” Jack said, his voice trembling with excitement.
The VIP room was on the second floor. After Leo and Jack entered, the two burly men stood guard outside like black statues.
The VIP room was even more luxurious than the main hall and filled with a faint scent of roses.
It was spacious inside with over ten gambling tables and dozens of well-dressed gamblers spending lavishly.
If the main hall felt like a marketplace, the VIP room felt like a tea house.
Here, high-stakes gambling seemed like an elegant pastime.
Leo noticed many gamblers sipping fine wine as they played.
Only during significant wins or losses did brief commotions occur.
In the center of the VIP room was an empty table with a beautiful female dealer standing quietly beside it.
