“Tom went up to inform him,” Williams said, staying by his mother’s side. “The company is going through a transition recently, so he spends most of his time in the study.”
“Isn’t working in the lab harder than managing his own company?” Grandma was very fond of him and quite worried.
“Working in the lab is his hobby. As long as he enjoys it, he won’t feel it’s hard; he’ll be happy doing it.”
“He can work in the lab, but he must settle his marriage first.” Mrs. Fritz entered the living room and sat on the sofa. “I’m back with a mission this time.”
Upstairs in the study.
Tom Fritz was experiencing an allergic reaction to sweet potatoes. He had drunk a lot of warm water and taken an antihistamine, which was starting to relieve the itching, but he still felt uncomfortable.
Tom stood patiently at his desk, waiting.
Tom looked up. “Tom, I know. You can go downstairs now.”
Tom stood still, looking at him.
“Tom…”
“Sir instructed me to bring you downstairs.”
“Then wait at the door; I need to make a call first.” Tom Fritz picked up his phone.
Tom couldn’t invade someone’s privacy, so he turned and waited by the door.
Tom Fritz used a text message to initiate a voice call with Agnes.
The phone rang for a while before a girl’s voice came from the other end. “Hello.”
“Did you eat sweet potatoes without having an allergic reaction?” Tom asked her.
“No, did you have an allergic reaction?”
“Yes, a bit,” Tom Fritz replied. “But it’s okay; I thought it was because of the sweet potatoes.”
“Did you see a doctor?”
“It’s just a minor issue; why see a doctor?” Tom laughed. “Wouldn’t that be wasting resources?”
“Where are you?” Agnes asked. “Send me your location; I’ll bring you some ointment that’s very effective for allergies. Just apply it to the swollen area, and you’ll feel better immediately.”
“No need; I took loratadine.”
“Are you sure you don’t need it?” Agnes considered him a friend. “I have time today.”
“No need to trouble yourself. Take good care of Bubu for me.”
“Don’t worry. Even without your instructions, I’ll take good care of my baby!”
At this moment, Jane came upstairs and walked over. Seeing Tom at the door puzzled her.
When she reached the study door, she saw her son just hanging up the phone.
“Madam,” Tom greeted her.
Jane stepped inside and looked at her son’s face. “Who were you calling just now?”
Tom Fritz glanced at his mother and closed his laptop before standing up. “Sorry to trouble you to come up personally.”
“Grandma is waiting,” Jane urged. “Put all important matters aside for now; go downstairs to see Grandma and Lisa first.”
Seeing Grandma was necessary; seeing Lisa was not interesting.
Tom Fritz walked around the desk and followed his mother out.
Downstairs in the spacious and luxurious living room, everything was perfectly arranged with stylish decor.
Lisa sat next to the elderly woman, wearing a beret and sitting gracefully. Her beautiful face always carried a polite smile.
She kept looking towards the staircase corner with anticipation and excitement in her eyes.
Having seen Tom Fritz’s resume and photos and often hearing Grandma talk about him, she had long admired this outstanding man she had never met.
He was about to come down, making her heart race slightly, with a touch of shyness on her pretty face.
